*** *coughs* I forget to give you a timeframe for this one. It's set after s13, but there are no spoilers <3***

***(Nya's POV)***

I walk out onto the ship's deck, inhaling the humid air. It hangs like a weight above me.

I'm the master of water. I know what's about to happen.

A low rumble sounds not far off, and a smile tilts my lips.

Finally, I have some peace. None of the guys are going to bother me right now. Kai's deathly afraid of water, Cole's training, Lloyd's talking with Master Wu, and Zane won't want to accidentally conduct electricity.

Electricity...

Nah. Jay had better not come out here. I need my time alone. The guys won't like me without it.

One fat rain droplet splashes my eyelash. Another wets my forehead, and another collides with my arm.

The storm has arrived.

I take a deep breath, enjoying the sweet scent. This is my home. I feel a connection with each kiss of water, each violent blast of thunder, each muted ray of sunlight darkened by clouds.

I lift my palms into the air, hoping to get as close as possible to my element. I stretch my fingertips toward the sky, the pulse in my wrist thrumming, "This is it. Come to me. I am peace."

I part my lips ever so slightly, allowing moisture to drip from my cheeks and down into my ready mouth.

A mouth that's suddenly blocked by someone else's.

I know his scent and the feel of his mouth in a moment.

Jay Walker.

I wanted alone time, but I guess one kiss wouldn't hurt...

I pull my hands from the air and splay them across his chest, feeling the rapid beat of his heart beneath his shirt. His hands gently cup my face, drawing my lips up to meet his.

I can't even think – all I can do is feel. And this feels good.

He tilts my face to deepen the kiss, but I pull back just a breath. My eyes flutter open to see his usually bright blue ones are...a dark, haunt-my-dreams version of their usual selves.

"Why'd you break it off?" he whispers.

"I need some time alone," I murmur, forcing myself to look away from those thought-depriving blue depths.

"Alone? But we are alone."

"Mm-hmm. Yeah, see, you're still here." I swat his chest playfully, hoping he won't take my words the wrong way.

Distress falls over his expression. "O-oh. You...don't want to spend time with me?"

"Yes. No. Oh, would you stop trying to guilt trip me?"

He smiles a little and looks at the ground. "That wasn't what I intended to do."

"Okay, well..." I kiss his nose. "This isn't about 'us', okay? This is about me not going insane."

"Am I driving you insane?"

I raise an eyebrow. "Are you trying to get me to say 'yes'? Because I don't mean 'insane' as in 'I can't stop thinking about you, every little thing you do gets under my skin, I wish you'd just kiss me already'. No, I mean that I'm legitimately going bananas."

"I like bananas."

I roll my eyes. "The point is, Jay, that I'm not really in the mood to hang out. If you haven't noticed, I'm kind of an introvert. I need time to recharge."

"I can help. I'm the master of lightning."

"Ha-ha. You're hilarious."

He places his hands on my shoulders. "If you stay out here, you're going to get really wet."

"I'm the master of water."

"Okay. If you stay out here...you'll make me sad?"

I sigh, pulling out of his grasp and tracing my hand along the ship's railing. "Why are you here?"

"Because I was looking for you. We never get any time together these days, given that the team is always around. We've been cramped on the Destiny's Bounty for days, and it's getting a little old."

"I know. Why do you think I'm going crazy? I'm never alone!"

"But...don't you want to be alone with me?"

"It's not that I..." I shake my head. "Fine. You're clearly in the mood to see me lose my mind, so let's do something a little crazy."

"Like, together?"

"Yes. And then do you promise to give me fifteen minutes to regain my sanity?"

His eyes light up. "Yes."

"Okay." I smile, knowing he'll like this. "Let's pull a cheesy romance move and dance in the rain."

He beams and extends a hand. "May I have this dance?" he asks in his most charming voice.

It comes off more adorable than charismatic, but I still blush. He's just so doggone cute.

"I would love to dance with you," I reply, trying to suppress my smile.

He takes one of my hands in his, wrapping his free arm around my waist. I position mine around him, and we begin to gracefully move over the deck.

He presses his forehead to mine. "I really love you; you know that?"

"It's kind of hard not to," I chuckle. "You follow me around everywhere."

"Do not!"

"Hey, I didn't say I minded. Usually." I wink at him.

"I bet I can make it so you love always having me around."

"And how do you figure that? I'm a pretty – "

He abruptly stops our dance, snaking his arms around my waist and pulling me close for another kiss. I'm about to argue, but when his lips meet mine...

Nah. I guess my private time will have to wait.
