"Umm, is this thing on?" a girl with black framed glasses and long, glossy brown hair blinked into the camera lens. "There's a red dot, so I'm going to go with yes..."

The girl stepped away from the camera frame and blinked a few times. It almost appeared as if she was trying to figure out what she wanted to say. A momentary expression of puzzlement flashed across her face before she began to speak.

"안녕하세요. 내 이름은 다니야. 나는 미국에서 온니다."

Hello. My name is Dani and I am from the United States.

The girl's face flushed with deep-rooted embarrassment as she stumbled over basic Korean. Perhaps she had hastily learned it for this video? Shaking her head, she turned away for a second and steeled her resolve before staring at the camera again. Her caramel eyes shone with unfettered emotion from behind the frame of her glasses.

Behind her sat a wall of pictures. All of them depicted an image of a girl in similar age and stature to Dani. The pictures framed Dani's sister's journey through life. There were the awkward early years' photos, full of sharply cut bangs and pigtails. There were the pictures of gangly teenage years with the braces to match. The final frame was filled with black, the inverted version of a canvas waiting to be painted.

Or had someone removed the image from the frame?

"미안해요, RM, would you be able to translate for me?" the girl bit her lower lip, as if she feared asking that much would be a bit of a gamble. "You challenged ARMY to send in a sixty-second video detailing why we should be chosen to come to Korea and spend one day with BTS."

In a nervous fashion, she rubbed her hands in front of her.

"I don't want this trip for myself. I want this trip for my sister. Well, for her memory. You see, my younger sister was a huge fan of BTS and you gave her comfort when there was none to be found. Your passion, your personalities, and your music brought her joy in her final moments and I knew that it was her dying wish to be able to see and meet you all in person..." the girl's voice cracked as tears welled up in her eyes.

"I know that it is fruitless of me to ask, but I would like this opportunity for my sister. I would like to think that she is with me, even in spirit, and would want to experience this with me."

The girl shook her head again and wiped away at her face, pawing away the tears of grief and boundless sorrow.

"But I know there are more hardworking and deserving people who are submitting to this contest and that I have taken up to much of your time. So, please, do give it to someone who deserves this more than me and use me as your second choice. Thank you for your time. 감사합니다."

The girl approached the camera with trembling limbs and a sorrowful smile on the face. The images of her sister on the wall are the last thing the camera captures before the screen flickers to blackness.

Hey guys! Welcome to my new fanfiction and thank you all for taking the time to read this.

I started this story on a whim - even though I am in the middle of working on a novel and Lost My Way - but I felt that Dani's story needed to be told. Plus, who doesn't love our adorable members of BTS? I have high hopes for this piece, so stayed tuned!

And as always, don't forget to comment and vote! :)
