A few minutes before Wally died (or did he?)

"Hey guys, promise me you'll look after Dick," Wally said through grunts of pain. He wasn't able to keep up. He was going to die but he had to make sure everything was in order. "We don't need to promise. You can do this," Flash replied, trying not to cry. They all knew he couldn't do this. "Please. He's gonna be so pissed at me but please look after him. Promise me."

"I promise," Impulse replied, seeing what was going on. 

"I promise too." 

"Good. Tell him I love him okay?" he asked before disappearing. 

"Wally!" they yelled.

Nightwing ran up to them and looked around for Kid Flash. "Hey, where's Kid Mouth?" he asked. The speedsters looked at each other. Flash walked up to him and whispered something in his ear. "No...he can't. I-I didn't even get to say goodbye." He collapsed into Flash's arms and cried. The team tried to calm him down but it was no use. He was simply to distraught to acknowledge them.

Present day

Nightwing sat in the cave silently. He didn't want to move. It had been a little over a year since Wally died protecting the earth. The kids were talking about the mission they just went on but he couldn't pay attention. Wally filled his mind. God how he missed them. A tear slipped under his mask making the kids worry. "You miss him still," Batgirl stated, frowning. 

"Of course I do. I-I never thought he could b-be gone," he replied covering his face. 

"I'm sorry Nightwing. But he went out fighting if that helps," Impulse said in attempt to make him feel better. "No I'm sorry. I should've thought of something to save him." 

"You did what you could. You put too much pressure on yourself. You've still got your life ahead of you, what are you like thirty?" Blue Beetle insisted. 

"I'm nineteen," Nightwing corrected. They gasped a little. 

"You're still a teenager!" Beast Boy exclaimed.

 "Yeah, a teenager who got the love of his life killed."

They were about to attempt to make him feel better when the Zetatubes announced the arrival of Kid Flash. Nightwing's eyes widened. "You heard that too right?" he asked. They nodded and they rushed to the Zetatubes. There stood Kid Flash, looking around. "Wally?" Nightwing asked. "There's my little Dickie. How you been?" he asked hugging him. He took off Nightwing's mask and stared into his blue eyes with a smile. "Wally, you're alive." 

"Dude yes. I was just teleported to the desert. How long has it been? Like a month?" he asked.
"It's been a year," Batgirl informed him as Dick was too shocked to answer. 

"What? Oh my god, I never meant to leave you for that long Dickie." Dick kissed him passionately and Wally gladly kissed back. "I thought you died! Never do that again!" Dick yelled, putting his head on his lovers chest. (Wally is tall enough for him to do this without adjusting height). Wally nodded fiercely and carried on hugging him. "I love you babe." 

"I love you too. We need to go tell the League you're alive right now." Dick said grabbing his hand and dragging him to the Zetatubes. "They make such a cute couple," Wonder girl giggled. 

"Yeah, they do." Robin added. 

"Big brother's got his boy back. Batman is gonna beat Wally up." Batgirl commented. 

"You know it." Robin laughed.
