EDIT: TW BLOOD/INJURY

"Scatter!" And that they did. Well they tried to at least. However, it wasn't just Batman who had joined them. Their mentors had also joined. "Great!" Wally exclaimed, darting around his mentor. Dick didn't get anywhere fast as Batman quickly picked him up and put the trap settings on the chair so metal straps held his limbs down. The sad part was that the design had been Dick's idea a few months before. "Damn my superior mind!" Artemis was caught by Green Arrow faster than she would've liked. He slung her over his shoulder and after five minutes she gave up kicking. Wally was outsmarted by Flash who was now pinching his ear and dragging him to where Dick was trapped. M'gann only needed her uncle shouting her name and she was standing beside her friends. Connor didn't really understand why they all got caught until Superman grabbed the back of his collar, forcing him to stand with M'gann. Last, but not least, Kaldur was grabbed by Aquaman who gave him a look of disappointment at even attempting to run. "You're the oldest and you tried that?"

"Worth a try."

"Barry let go of my ear! You're going to pull it off," Wally whined.

"At least you're not slung over your mentors back," Artemis responded.

"Erm trapped in a chair here, think I have the upper hand," Dick reminded them.

"You win," they replied in unison.

"Promise you won't run and we'll let you stand like your friends. Except you Dick, you'd still try it," Flash announced.

"That's fair," Dick admitted. Artemis was let down and Wally's ear was released from Flash's vice like grip. "How could you be so reckless?" Batman shouted. "You were barely able to move when I left you alone and then you go off on a mission!"

"Look you would do the same thing for your team so how about we just put this all behind us?" Dick attempted to bargain. "I think he's gone insane," Artemis muttered.

"He's been insane since birth," Green Arrow assured her.

Batman didn't see the funny side however. He was getting angrier by the second. "What would've happened if you died Dick?" he asked. Dick very clearly didn't like that question and began to shift in his restraints. "Tell me Dick."

"No," he mumbled, pulling at the metal.

"No you don't understand or no you're won't tell me?"

"Noooo," Dick complained. Flash let a giggle slip as did some of his peers but quickly became stone faced when Batman glared at them. "Out of all the people on this team I thought you would be smart enough not to try something like that," Batman scolded.

"Hey," the rest of the team muttered, slightly offended.

"You all asked him to get you so you can't say anything."

"We didn't know he wasn't okay. He didn't tell us, this isn't our fault. If anything it's his," Connor said. "Thanks Connor, I can always count on you to back me up," Dick replied sarcastically. So much for their help on this one.

Batman snapped to him. "You don't understand do you? You could've died Dick! What if you died right in front of your team mates?" Dick's eyes widened. "You of all people know what it's like to see someone you love die. How would they have felt?"

"Bruce," Superman said, trying to calm him.

"You would've traumatized them! They would've thought less of themselves because you died trying to save them!"

"Bruce! That's enough." But he'd gone too far. Dick used all his strength to push the chair back, forcing it to the floor. He grunted in pain but now the locks had opened and he could get out. He did a backwards roll into standing with a yelp of pain. He ran towards the elevator out but Batman grabbed his arm. "You can't run from everything!"

"Try me!" he shouted back, wiggling out of his grip and running off.

"Richard!" The Dark Knight sighed and looked to the team.

"He has always been like that don't look at us," Kaldur reasoned. He rubbed the bridge of the nose. "I know. Send them home, I have a problem to sort out." They nodded and walked their partners out of the cave.

Once gone, Bruce practically sprinted upstairs to his sons room. He knocked on the door. "Go away."

"I know you're mad but we need to talk about this and I need to check your wounds." There was a little silence, he guessed it was thinking time. "It's open." Bruce opened the door and found Dick with his face buried in a pillow. "I'm sorry I made you angry but I'd prefer for you not to shout at me again," Dick said. Bruce sat down and pulled the teen into his lap. Even as a teen he was small enough to fit nicely. He leaned his head on his father's chest, his eyes staying far away from Bruce's. "I'm not going to shout at you. I only shouted in the first place because I was worried," Bruce assured him, running a hand through Dick's hair.

"I know." Dick felt tears build up and let them go.

"Please don't cry Dickie," Bruce begged.

"I know I shouldn't have gone but they needed me. Then when you started talking about dying in front of them I just couldn't take it. I would never want them to go through that I promise," he explained. Bruce shushed him gently and rocked him back and forth. It never ceased to calm Dick down. "I know. I went too far. Now let's see the damage you did." With a grumble, Dick took off his shirt and showed the cuts. "Did you restitch these five?" Bruce asked.

"How can you tell?" Dick replied, wiping his tears away.

"You always do them slightly to the right. Good work though," he congratulated.

"Years of hiding injuries help."

"What?"

"Nothing." Bruce rolled his eyes then noticed a few new bruises.

"You did great work considering your condition."

"I try my best," Dick replied with a smile.

He put on his shirt and climbed into bed, hugging Bruce. "Want me to stay?"

"If you're not too busy," he said. Bruce chuckled, getting comfortable himself.

"Want to know what happened on my mission?" Dick nodded tiredly. "Well Flash was being impatient as always and...."
