Wouldn't it be funny if Dick was dead the whole time and the reason M'gann wouldn't let go was because she couldn't believe he was dead? That's not what's gonna happen but imagine if it did and be thankful I didn't do that...or did I? I didn't.

No one could sleep after what happened. How could they? Who could watch a friend almost die and sleep soundly? They certainly couldn't. After they were brought to the Mountain by their mentors they hadn't left each other's sides. Right now, nobody wanted to be alone. It was silent because nobody wanted to speak about what happened or anything else for that matter. Their bodies were tensed and their mouths were shut tightly. They had tried to busy themselves whilst staying together to try and take their minds off current things. M'gann found it hard to concentrate on baking when all she could feel was the scared and sad atmosphere. Wally had taken to tapping his foot rapidly. No one had enough energy to shout at him for it. Artemis was cleaning her bow even though it had been perfectly clean. Kaldur was flicking between staring into space and reading a novel he didn't care about but it was something. Connor stared at the static on TV, trying to get the image of it to replace the one he had of the young teen putting a gun to his head.

Then they heard the robotic voice announce the arrival of Robin. Wally's ears perked up instantly and he ran to the zetatubes with M'gann close behind. "Robin what're-" Wally didn't get to finish as Robin practically tackled him with a hug. He didn't mind and quickly returned it. "You're still in your pyjamas," he said with a small laugh. Dick shrugged and looked up at him. "Your sunglasses! Batman will kill us if we see your ID!" Robin shrugged again, apparently not caring. Neither he nor M'gann liked the fact there was no retort. "You're not speaking," Wally stated worriedly. Robin tensed and shook his head in acknowledgement. "Why aren't you talking?" M'gann asked, kneeling down to his height. He didn't know how to respond to them question so he shrugged. "Will you talk in the mind-link?" He shook his head.  At this point, the others joined and were relieved to find he wasn't crying. Although, they were confused as to why he was in his pyjamas and not wearing sunglasses. "Should one of us get your sunglasses?" Kaldur asked, almost sheilding his eyes. Robin looked at him and shook his head. "Dick?" Artemis asked breathily. Robin nodded with a ghost of a smile. "That was uncalled for," M'gann scolded not understanding. "You know him?" Wally asked. Last time he checked he was the only person on the team who knew his ID. "I go to school with him!" she replied.

"So your name's Dick? That's cruel," Connor stated.

"It's short for Richard," Wally elaborated. "Batman will so kill us when he finds out."

He should feel more scared but the warmth of the younger around his body was enough to keep the fears at bay. For now at least. "What're you doing here? Batman nearly tackled M'gann to have you back," Artemis asked, still in shock that the nerdy thirteen-year-old was actually the Boy Wonder. He sure knew how to make himself the last possible suspect. Although it made his sudden disappearances in school make sense. Dick didn't answer and sudden panic ran through the team. He ran his mouth faster than Wally sometimes so why wasn't he talking? "Dick, what's going on?" He sighed, thinking about how to communicate. He let go of Wally so they could see his hands. "I woke up alone and I wanted to see you guys," he signed, his hand movements slow. "Why is he using gang signs?" Connor asked. Dick facepalmed. He really should've taught them sign language though he thought Black Canary would have that covered on days like this. "It's not gang signs it's sign language. The deaf and the mute use it," Wally clarified. "Dick taught me it when we were younger. He said he woke up alone and came here," he added. Dick nodded showing he was right. "Batman said he wouldn't leave your side," M'gann mumbled a little angrily. "Batman does that," Dick signed. Wally translated for the group.

"Can you lip read?" Wally asked. They nodded.

"If I do this can you understand me?" Dick mouthed still signing. They nodded and he breathed a sigh of relief. "You're learning sign language this week," he 'said'. This was the closest he was going to get to speaking so they had to learn it. "Does anyone know you're here?" Kaldur asked. From the hesitation of Dick's movement, that would be a no. "Nobody knows you're here?" Wally shrieked. He nodded shyly. "You should go back home, you'll give him a heart attack," Kaldur reasoned. Dick frowned for a minute then his eyes lightened up with an idea. "Come back to the manor with me," he suggested.

"Dick he'd rip us a new one for just knowing who you are, let alone coming back to your place," Wally protested. "Trust me he won't after tonight and I really need to be with you guys. I don't want to be alone," he insisted. He pulled on Wally's arm with a hopeful look in his eye that only a few hours ago they'd seen die. They couldn't crush that newly resurrected hope. There was a heavy sigh then an answer. "I'll send a message to Batman telling him of your whereabouts with a short summary. You all go back to the main room." Kaldur announced. Dick smiled as did Wally and M'gann. "Movie night?" M'gann suggested.

"Disney movies only." Dick joked.

In the morning Batman raced to the Mountain and to the main room. He'd gotten the message and worried for his little bird. That was until he saw him with his friends. M'gann was laying over Wally, Kaldur and Connor with Dick on her chest and Artemis on the floor with her head rested on her arm. He noticed Dick didn't have anything to cover his identity. Kaldur hadn't told him that in the email. He was about to pull his bird away from them but a certain female hero grabbed his shoulder and gave him a warning shush. "Leave them be," Black Canary whispered.
