Morally_Gray is the requester of the day and our first one

I'm really gonna try to get these out on time but I've got things to do so if I'm late a few days, I apologize in advance!!

It wasn't often that Connor and Robin were left together alone simply because the team was almost always together when Robin was there since Batman wasn't too keen on letting him stay out of Gotham for very long. None of them could decide if it was because he didn't want Gotham to be without one of its protectors or if he just didn't like the team. On the rare occasion that Robin was allowed to hang out with them, they made an effort to do something as civilians only their plan to go to the movies had overlooked something. Well, two things.

"I don't want to go," Connor said sternly. That was something number one. He folded his arms across his chest to show he meant business and wasn't moving from his stance. The last time he pulled this move was when they wanted to bring him grocery shopping so he'd get used to being around civilians as a civilian, it took about an hour of negotiation for him to go along with it but he was clearly uncomfortable the entire time.

"Why not?" M'gann pouted. "You'd love the movie!"

"He'd also hate the noise, the bright lights, the other people, I could go on," Robin butted in. He stood by the super to offer up some moral support. "Why don't you guys go and meet back here?"

"Well, why can't you come?" Artemis asked.

"I wear sunglasses guys. They're not the best for theatre-going." And there was something number two.

"But we hardly spend time with you as it is," M'gann protested.

"I'll make time. Con and I are gonna be right here. Now get going! There's a storm coming in today and you'll only be annoyed sitting in soggy clothes if you get caught up in it." They seemed reluctant to leave and Robin was admittedly a little bummed about missing out when he hardly saw them but he also liked spending time with Connor one on one. In big groups, the clone tended to stay quiet and watch which meant he got overshadowed by the labrador personified that was Wally but Robin liked some quiet every now and then. Connor reminded him a lot of Bruce but with the funny awkward parts amplified and slightly less disconcerting because he wasn't dressed as a big bat with white lenses instead of irises.

Once the team left with Wally promising that he wouldn't spoil the movie - he absolutely would -, the teen turned to Connor with a smile and clasped his hands together. With the storm coming in, he knew that the clone would appreciate some small comforting activities rather than hitting the gym together.

"How about we set up a blanket fort? I'll have you know I'm a master at them. Self-proclaimed but I'm basically a genius so it's a worthy credential."

"You didn't have to stay." He liked that about Connor. If he was thinking something, he said it usually unintentionally bluntly but it was appreciated nonetheless. Honesty was something Robin cared deeply about and he didn't always get it when he was working with Mr I-only-work-alone-because-I-have-trust-issues. "Only I didn't want to see the movie. You didn't say anything before about not being able to with your sunglasses."

"To be honest, I was just going to pretend to watch the movie. Maybe sleep during it or something. Anyway, believe it or not, but I like hanging out with you SB." A ghost of a smile passed over the clone's features which would've been a grin on anyone else. "Ah, don't think I didn't see that big guy. I know you love spending time with your favourite big brother."

"We're not brothers nor are you bigger than me so how can you be my favourite big brother?" he replied with a tone Robin wasn't completely sure wasn't snarky. Oh, how he hoped for a sassy clone to break from the mould at some point. Then Superman would really have his ass handed to him. He could never handle passive aggressiveness.

"Figuratively I'm your big brother. I'm a role model, I got here first and I'm always getting into trouble with you. Wally and Kaldur are like big brothers too but I'm so obviously your favourite."

"But that would make me a little brother."

"It does. Now, as your big bro, I'm gonna order you to get some blankets for this fort. You want it in your room or the living room?"

"My room," he stated firmly.

"Your room it is."

Stealing blankets and pillows from other people's rooms and a few sturdy couch cushions to work as walls, the pair got to work making the fort. Robin didn't really expect to stay in it for very long. When Connor got overstimulated, something as simple as a heartbeat could feel like hundreds of explosions going off right in his ear so he usually isolated himself. The storm would already be loud too so he was more likely to want to be left alone. At least this way, Robin knew he'd be comfortable as they waited it out. He pinned a set of blankets up using the headboard of the bed and covered the floor in pillows before making a second level by draping the lighter blankets over the bed. He pressed extra pillows against the wall to hopefully further muffle the sounds of the storms. Whilst he worked, he sent Connor to get whatever snacks and drinks he wanted. Canary might have a small problem with the sugar content but she wasn't here right now to nag them about it.

"What do you think, SB?" Robin asked as he fiddled with a flashlight. "I know there are no string lights but toss me with a few of those wrappers and I can get this thing multicoloured." A few of the sweets wrapped in colourful plastic were tossed over to him.

"It's small," the taller commented as he crawled inside and settled beside him. He didn't say it was too small so the acrobat assumed it was a compliment. Then he hummed. "Quiet."

"Yeah, that's the idea. We should work on getting you some proper noise-cancelling headphones. I've just been so busy lately with this murder case and- sorry I'm rambling. You don't wanna hear about that." He continued to fiddle with the flashlight, now taping the plastic to the front. When he flicked it on, the light poured out with a purple tint and he set it between them facing upwards to light up the small space.

"I didn't know you worked on murder cases," Connor said softly, a small sign of concern. He didn't know a lot about social cues but he knew that wasn't normal. He didn't like the thought of dying despite how often they put their lives on the line. He especially didn't like the idea of someone he knew dying. He'd miss them too much.

"Of course I do. B doesn't do everything, he can't do everything, so I take on the cases he's behind on. I try to keep murder ones to a minimum but it's Gotham," he replied too cheerily. "You guys don't need to worry about that type of stuff. I've got it handled."

"You're not the leader."

"No," Robin sighed as he settled in. "But I'm the most experienced here. I'd be no good if I could offer you that."

About half an hour later, the storm hit full force. Connor whimpered and pressed his hands against his ears as his senses were assaulted by the violet crashing of waves and splattering of rain. The wind howling really pulled it together to make a wholly unenjoyable experience. Robin gave him a soft smile and took this as his cue to leave so he didn't make things worse by breathing or his heart beating too loud. Yet when he began to crawl out, Connor grew more distressed.

"Stay," the clone begged as his hand jutted out and held Robin's wrist. The grip wasn't exactly bone-crushing but it was certainly bruising and yet the younger didn't wince at the pressure. He knew that would illicit the completely wrong reaction and it was hardly Connor's fault that he found it hard to control himself when he was panicked. Gently, he pulled on the fingers holding him tightly and sat back down.

"I'm not going anywhere big guy. I just thought I'd be a little much to be around right now," he promised. That was enough to get the other to let go and he couldn't help but smile to himself. It was sort of sweet. Connor really was like a big toddler sometimes because he'd never grown up. He just woke up one day and he was a teenager, expected to act as though he'd been able to grow up and go through the experiences that made the biological changes worth it. His emotions were still stuck in development. Robin kicked off his boots and sat further back so he could rest on the bed, making it truly look like he'd be there for the long haul. His mind drifted briefly to the storm battering against the walls of the mountain. They should make something to ensure this place is soundproof. He couldn't always be there to stop Connor when he got worked up about the noise and he'd hate to think about how guilty everyone would make the clone feel. He broke out of his thoughts when he was suddenly pulled into Connor's lap and held against his chest like some sort of weighted blanket. There was an idea maybe he should get a weighted blanket. It would have to be really heavy though.

"Don't like," Connor mumbled suddenly pointing at his sunglasses and scowling. He chuckled softly at the sight and ghosted his fingers over them, contemplating taking them off. Connor wouldn't know, would he? It's not like he was all that engaged in the world outside of whatever M'gann and the others were telling him. But he could tell the others what he looked like not out of malice just because someone might ask the right question.

"Don't think they suit me?" he joked. The taller hummed non-committedly and continued to pout about their existence. He supposed that they were a bit disconcerting sometimes. If eyes were the windows to the soul then he was effectively soulless as he kept them covered. He didn't expect his hands to tremble slightly as he held onto them. "Would you like me to take them off?" His voice was even smaller than before which the super seemed to appreciate. He received a firm hum this time. "Alright but this stays between you and me. You can't say a word." He pulled them off slowly, a weird pit forming in his stomach that he got whenever he felt like he'd royally pissed off Batman. He had in a sense. Their secret identity was something meant to be protected with their lives but how could he refuse Connor something as simple as seeing his eyes? Robin placed them on the bedside table and forced a smile. "What do you think? Am I as dashing as you expected?" Connor stared at him silently for a few moments, studying his eyes and then letting out a happy sigh when he was done with his assessment. He pointed to his own eyes then to Robin's. "Yeah, my eyes are like yours. Mine are bit bluer though," he replied.

"'S nice," Connor said. "Like me."

"Yea, we do look alike sort of. We could pass as half brothers but I bet no one could guess I'm your big brother."

"Like that."

"You like me being your big brother?" Robin questioned. He nodded sternly. "Good thing I like you being my little brother. Why don't you try to sleep? I'll be right here when you wake up."

"Stay?"

"I promise, I'll stay."

The team came back as the storm tampered off but was surprised to find the mountain was quiet and appeared to be deserted. They frowned and began their search for the missing pair, eventually ending up in Connor's bedroom after finding their own rooms stripped of blankets.

"Well, will you look at that?" Artemis said to herself softly. "Looks like they made a fort."

"Reckon we can get in?" Wally asked.

"Perhaps we should leave them be," Kaldur suggested with that underlying sternness that dared them to do something. They were smart though and decided it wasn't worth the risk when they'd had such a good day already.

"I've got a cake recipe to try. We could bake whilst we wait for them?" M'gann offered. Her fellow team members nodded and left with Kaldur staying behind. He quietly approached the fort and lifted a blanket, smiling when he found the pair. Connor and Robin were curled up together, the bulkier of the two putting his arm around him protectively as Robin's head rested on his chest facing away from the Atlantian. They were both softly snoring and looked simply adorable.

"Sleep well brothers," he whispered before joining the others.
