This isn't relevant but *ahem*

So this guy was talking to liek his kids and stuff and he was liek
'in the Mexican-American War, America basically took Mexico's land'.

I'm sitting behind him with my patriotic conservative America loving history nerd ass like, that ain't tRue buddy.

I know I shouldn't have gotten into the conversation like that but, I told him,
'well it's a war of course we "took" the land afterwards' which is EXTREMELY oversimplified.

He's just 'well it wasn't our land'
Me - but previously many Americans had immigrated to Tejas until Mexico was liek no stop
Him - so if Mexicans just came into our land they could take it?
Me - no dude Texas had a revolution and was even it's own country and so was-- (California, yeah he cut me off twice)
Him - well then why did we invade Mexico City
Me - because it's a war you're suppose to,,, take down the enEmy
