Now as you all know I have been both born and raised in Britain, still living in the country as of today so I have grown up watching English shows that are NOT dubbed in any other language. I have grown up from English cartoons to English fictional shows that are live action. 

However most of you may know as of my name Lavanya that I am also Indian. Long story short mum came to England from India 19 years ago and I think a couple years later, once she got a British citizenship, my dad came to the country and also got his. So yeah since both my parents are Indian, I have also grown up with Indian pop culture.

My parents play Hindi or Punjabi songs in the car and in the mornings, they play bhajaans. They also watch the Indian stuff on the TV. My dad prefers films whilst my mum watches the saas-bahu dramas.

Although quite recently she realised that YouTube is amazing and now she is watching some Pakistani web series since she said that Indian dramas are same old same old....though she still watches Anupamaa.

Now growing up, I have seen glimpses of multiple Indian shows on the TV. I think the first one I got interest in was when I was 6, there was a show about a girl called Bebo and I saw a few episodes. I got extremely scared when Bebo shot that girl. 

Just saying. 

So I continued to watch my own shows till there was a show that I don't remember but basically a mother had two kids, one girl, one boy and basically the boy wanted to marry this girl and on the engagement, he dies and turns out the murderer is a member of the girl's family and soon another guy arrives for the mother's daughter. 

When I was 7 in 2013, I started taking interest in Saath Nibanna Saathiya. I watched it after Meera was born and soon that was my favourite serial along with Ek Hazoorn Mein Meri Behna Hai then fast forward a couple of years, I started preferring Indian drama over English drama and I even preferred Bollywood films. I used to take Hindi tuitions from this aunty when I was 7 to 8 and I told my mum clearly that I am not wasting my precious time in a Hindi lesson and that I don't need to learn Hindi. Waise bhi I already knew how to say milk in Hindi, blanket in Hindi and some other words I picked up from SNS like Jaishri Krishna.

Up to date, my mum will never stop telling people the lovely time I said Jaishri Krishna in India to my family. Thanks mum. Really. For embarrassing me. Yes people do laugh. Honestly. 

So really it was Indian films that taught me how to speak Hindi properly and in sentences too and I am not fluent but I can say enough to communicate with my Dadi and Nani and sometimes with other people. 

So what is this book really about? Well over 8 years, I have been exposed to many different Indian dramas and I thought that there are some things that deserve to be pointed out and let's face it, in Indian shows.....WHERE IS THE BLOODY LOGIC? 

So enjoy me listing the goods and the bads of Indian shows I have watched anyway......
