After Kai's unexplained episode, the ninja slowly took him to the medbay and laid him down on one of the beds. When his head fell on the pillow, Kai instantly feel asleep which was something that sorta relieved the other ninja. However, that relief was quickly replaced by dread since they're discovering the other symptoms of this infection. 

"So that was interesting." Jay said after a couple of seconds. Normally, the others would complain and scold Jay for saying something sorta funny during serious discussions...but they were so worried for their friend/brother that they left it slide.

"Interesting is an understatement. The infection is slowly getting worse as time goes by, if we don't do something soon then...." Zane started to say before stopping. The other ninja knew what he was going to say and had the possibility of losing their brother run through their minds.

"If only we knew what kind of substance made Kai and the other victims do this kind of thing." Lloyd said.

"It could be something ancient or in one of the other realms. Though without Wu's help, it'll be difficult to know what it is." Cole said. This caused the ninja to sigh and wonder when Master Wu would come back from visiting some old friends. Unaware that at the same time, Lia was reporting what happened to her master.

The red ninja has began the second stage of the infection. A feat that most of these weak willed fools haven't achieved during their miserable lives.

"I believe that this happened due to the interference of the other ninja. They truly think that they could find a cure to this...." Lia said.

Even if they try, the cure has been lost in time and hidden in a place outside mortals reach. Though...that doesn't mean that we should underestimate them.

"Of course master. Should we send some soldiers to distract them?" Lia said.

It is tempting, but at the moment...we can let the ninja try and fail to cure their brother of the infection. When they least expect it, you will grab him and lead him here where he will join our army and stand by my side.

Lia almost rose her eyebrow at the implications of her master's idea of Kai being by his side. However, she chose not to or else dirty thoughts would invade her mind which is something that she would rather not deal with at the moment. 

"Consider it done." Lia said as she walked away from her master. As she did, she could hear the drawer opening which instantly made her cringe. It looks like the fire ninja has garnered the attention of her master. Something that both intrigued and disgusted her since her master was never interested in seeing anyone romantically. Shaking her head, she quickly got to work on pushing the red ninja to the edge while keeping the ninja from surprising and capturing her. 

Meanwhile, the ninja continued to speak with each other before Zane noticed something odd about Kai. His staring at their brother caused the other ninja to become confused since they didn't notice anything amiss.

"Zane? What's wrong?" Jay asked. Zane stayed silent before heading over to Kai's hand and lifting it up. 

"What are y..." Nya began before Zane finally spoke. 

"Kai has developed some purplish spots on his hand." Zane said.

"What?" Cole said before Nya rushed over and saw the dots that were appearing on his hands. It was a clear sign that something amiss was happening to their brother physically and mentally. Though she couldn't help herself from thinking about the other things that could possibly come after some time. As she continued to stare at her brother's hand, one thought came to Nya's head:

Kai, we'll discover who or what caused this and when we do...nothing will stop us from curing you. 

Never knowing that the next couple of days will be life or death for her precious older brother.
