What if zeb died instead of Kanan

In family reunion and farewell

When zeb went to take care of thrawn's pet,

Gregor: even with the bridge extended, there's just too many of them, we're going to have to do something drastic

Zeb: alright, I'll do it

He charges to rukh, but before he could kallus yelled at him

Kallus: ZEB DON'T

Weeks ago before this war, kallus quit the rebellion to help Ezra out, when zeb heard his voice his heart beat faster, he turned around to see him, wearing a imperial uniform

Zeb: kallus, you came back

But while he was distracted by him, he was shot by one of the bucket heads

Zeb: (growl) ah

Kallus watched in horror as his lover lies down on the floor

Kallus: (gasp) NO!!!!!!!!

He ran to him and pulls him away from the blasters, he keeps him out of sight, Gregor joins them to see if he was alright

Gregor: he's crazy

Kallus turns glaring at him

Kallus: well it was you idea and it's your fault, I swear if he dies I-

Gregor: sorry

More soldiers came blasting at them

Kallus: oh never mind that, just deal with them

As he leaves to give them some room

Kallus looks back at zeb, he touches his face, zeb opened up his eyes slowly he felt the warm of his gloves, he saw kallus and smiled

With his last moments of breath, he spoke to him

Zeb: (gasp) You (gasp) You came back.

Kallus: Of course I came back. I wasn't going to let you do this alone...Oh this is all my fault. If only I'd gotten here fast enough, IF ONLY I STAYED

The reason why kallus left was because he was pregnant

Kallus looks down in shame and shuts his eyes tight, zeb lifts his chin up to face him

And quickly drops his hand

Zeb: Maybe it's better... it's better this way.

Kallus: NO!!! Don't talk like that, don't say that, You'll be all right, whats important is that we're together now. Everything's going to be fine. I-please zeb

He puts his hands on his muscular chest, zeb places his hands on top of his

Zeb: kallus (gasp) I'm afraid it's my turn to leave, it was great while it lasted

Kallus started to cry

Kallus: NO, I won't leave you again, you have to stay here with me

It was kallus turn to hold his hand

Kallus: you need to stay here with me, stay with our son

He shows him a holographic of the baby Lasat

Zeb just smiles at him, reaches over to his face and cups his cheek

Beast: At least... I got to see you one and my son... one last time, tel-tell him that I said hi and—
I love you kallus

Kallus pulls Zeb's paw up to his cheek, He holds it there for a second. Kallus loved the way he felt, the warm of his paw had his heart warm up but then drops it, he looks to see Zeb's head falls back, and his eyes close. Kallus drops his  paw, he  can't believe this has happened.

Kallus: No, no! no no no, zeb Please! Wake (crying) Please! Don't go (sobs) Please don't leave me! (Sobbing) I can't lose you again, I love you!

He buries his face in his chest and cries harder

After the empire was defeated, the ghost crew was mourned over Zeb's passing, Kallus mourned the most, he lost the man he had loved before they could start a family together

The crew had made a proper burial for zeb, in honor for his bravery for help fighting the empire, as kallus watched his husband  being buried, their son zen grabbed kallus pants and tugged on them

He looks down to see the cute baby Lasat eyes, he picks him up and brings him to his face

Kallus (sobbing) I'm not sure if I can do this without your father

He cries in front of his son, the kit looks at him in confusion, he touches his face and wipes away his tears off

Kallus looks up at him, Hera came behind him and touches his shoulders

Hera: kallus, so sorry about zeb he was one of the greatest captains we had the honor of fighting

The ghost crew began to crowd him

Kanan: he was a good brother to Ezra

Sabine: and a great rebel

Hera: but just remember, he'll always there with you

All this talk about zeb made with think of the kit Lasat, he took a long long at his son and smiled, the kit looked up at him and grabs his face again

Kallus: I have to stay strong for zeb

He carries his son and takes him back home

Kallus: let my tell you stories about you father

He felt his presence was with him, zeb may be gone, but his memories still lives inside his son, zen was all kallus had left now and he vows that he would be the best father he can be
