Karma's Point of View

My name's Karma Akabane, I work under my boss, Nagisa Shiota. Also, he's the one person I love.

Funny thing though, he doesn't even know me other than being his secretary. It's kind of sad honestly.

"Shiota-kun, you have a call." I said, handing him the phone. He nodded and took it. I watched him walk to his widow, laughing along with the other person on the line. Someone walked into the room, I turned around and saw Kaede Kayano walk in. I put my finger up to my mouth, she nodded.

Once the call ended, he handed me the phone back and sighed. "Yes Kaede?" He asked, leaning over his desk. "I need you to approve this before I send it." She said, placing a paper in front of him.

Kaede Kayano, also known as Nagisa's best friend. She loves him, I've worked with her for a few years and I've noticed she had. This sparked jealousy in me, so when I became his secretary, I was allowed to approve things in his place. She's the only one in the entire department that won't let me sign anything in his place.

After he signed the paper he passed it back to her. She bowed and quickly walked out of the room. I sat down in my chair, picking my laptop back up off of my desk. "Why doesn't she let you sign anything?" He asked while he sat down in his chair. "Because she likes you." I stated while typing. "Really?" He asked, I nodded in response.

"Do you want to go early and get food?" He asked, I glanced up at him. I nodded and shut my laptop, placing it on my desk. "Where do you want to go?" He asked, stretching his arms behind him. "I don't care. Anywhere's fine." I replied and looked into some of the other offices. They all looked plain and boring. "Nagisa, how'd you even become the boss of this place?" I asked while looking at some of the other offices, we passed Kaede's. "Eh? That's easy, because I was the best qualified for it, and I worked for it." He said like it was a walk in the park. "But... It's still really stressful and all... I have to work all night sometimes..." He said awkwardly. I laughed and smiled at the ground.

We walked into Chick-Fil-A and walked to the counter. I ordered a chicken sandwich, and got a soda. He ordered the same thing, we both got Sprite as our drink. We sat down at a table and patiently waited for our food. "So Karma, do you have a girlfriend yet?" I spit my Sprite out and wiped my mouth off. "NO." I shouted, he shushed me with a smile because people were started to look over at us. "So, you're single then?" He asked, putting his chin on his hand. I nodded and took another drink of my soda.

"So, Karma. Do you want to go out with me then?"I looked up at him to see if he was serious or not. His face was bright red, but he didn't seem to be embarrassed. "Why? Is this a prank or something?" I asked him, he shook his head. "F-fine..." I mumbled, feeling my face heat up. He squealed and leaned over the table, hugging me. "By the way, I have to move in with you." He said, then jumped up from the table. "Nagisa!" I shouted at him while he ran up to the counter. He glanced back at me, smiling like the adorable person he is.

We didn't have any awkward chats after that, we held hands like normal couples would, and acted like any other couple would.

Then, she came.

"Nagisa!" Kaede screamed, walking into the room. He groaned and held his hand out. She dropped the paper in her hand into his, grinning proudly. "What is this?" He asked, scanning over the paper. I got up from my chair, walking over to him. He moved the paper so I could read it.

It was a marriage proposal from Kaede's dad, to Nagisa's dad.

And, it was signed.

"I didn't agree to this!" He shouted at her, throwing the paper on the ground. "It's not like you're dating anyone! You'll never find anyone better than me!" She fired back at him, picking up the paper. I felt the color drain out of my face. That hurt... "You don't know anything about me, Kayano!" He shouted at her angrily. "Shut up and just deal with it Nagisa! This is reality!" Nagisa slammed his hands on his desk, standing up. "Get out." He growled at her, she looked hurt. "N-Nagisa..." She felt scared now? "Ple-" "GET OUT." He yelled, reaching for a pair of scissors on his desk.

I quickly grabbed his wrists and turned to Kaede. "Leave. Now." I said trying to sound threatening to her. She opened her mouth to say something, but turned and ran out of the office. I hugged Nagisa, feeling him shake in my arms. He was crying. "Karma, do you love me?" He asked, looking up at me with tears in his eyes. "Of course I do." I said and buried my face in his shoulder. "Okay..." He said with a sniffle and rubbed his face into my hair.
