Franky brought Katara up the deck where chopper was frantically running around, "A doctor! We need a doctor!"

Franky laughed lightly and brought her inside the infermary.

"Oh that's me!" Chopper gasped and went inside his infermary. "Katara why are your legs all blue? Your toes were close to getting frostbite. We need to warm you up."

Franky placed her down gently on the medical bench, feet dangling off the side, "She said she fell asleep with her feet in the water"

"Fell asleep?? I know you used to live in a winter area but thats even a bit much. You're not a fish, your body can't handle the temperatures without proper gear." Chopper chided, getting a warm bucket of water, and placing it on the floor in front of her feet.

"I know I'm sorry. I'll not do it again."

"Better not." Chopper looked up at her and then grabbed her leg, placing it inside the water. "Doctors orders."

It felt odd to Katara to be tended to by an actual doctor. Usually it was she who did all the healing. That, or gran gran, but she was no doctor either.

"You should stay here until you get sensation and movement in your feet. Can you wiggle your toes?"

Katara tried and chopper noted that there was minimal movement. "I'll stay in here with you, are you hungry? I could ask sanji to bring your plate in here too."

"I could eat." She nodded, honestly excited to eat the gourmet food.

Franky went to the dining area, letting the cook know what was happening as chopper grabbed a blanket from a storage bin, placing it on Kataras shoulders. "Is there anything else you need? Anything that hurts?"

"Nothing hurts, no. But I did want to talk to the others."

"About what?"

"The legend of D."

"Where'd you hear that?" He asked very surprised. No many people talk about it and he was sure no one had told her yet about such a tale. There were many other more relevant things to teach her first. It wasn't like robin or nami to give their student information before they're able to conceptualize it.

"A spirit told me."

Chopper tried his best to understand what she was trying to say. Maybe she forgot the name of their cremate, "Do you mean brook?"

"No, I mean a spirit. The spirit of the sea to be precise."

"What?! There's such a thing?? Are you sure you didn't hit your head too? Maybe the cold got to you?" He placed the back of his hoof on her forehead to check her temperature, making sure he didn't miss a fever.

"No, I'm fine chopper. It's why I fell asleep. I actually have big news, so can I go to dinner and tell everyone?"

Chopper was so confused.

The door bust open, " Nooo, katara!! Our precious girl is ill, I must soothe all your pains! Do you want soup? How about a warm bath? Some custard tarts perhaps??" Sanji fawned over her.

Katara was honestly glad that he showed up. Maybe she could have him get her out of this room and to the rest of the crew. "You don't have to do all that. I just want to eat with the rest of the crew."

"Anything for you!" Sanji explained hearts in his eyes, "But why are your feet in a bucket?"

Chopper was dazed, not responding to sanjis general question, "Spirit of the sea?"

Sanji gave her a questioning look.

"Spirits, it's not that hard people." Katara rolled her eyes and bent down to place a hand in the water, hovering over her legs. She couldn't change the temperature inside her leg to help heal it but at least she could speed up the healing process internally.

Once she was done. She pulled her feet out and bent the dripping water back into the bucket. She wiggled her toes, feeling them again thanks to the warmth and her healing. She slid off the bench, booth feet hitting the floor uncomfortably, that feeling of intense buzzing when her leg is asleep jolting up her leg.

"Chopper what do you mean spirit? There is no spirit of the sea? You're talking like a madman."

"I don't know sanjiii. It makes no sense." Chopper cried, pulling on sanjis pant leg back and forth.

Katara walked on over to sit between nami and luffy.

"You've got to try this, Katara! It's so yummy!" Luffy shoved the remaining fried rice tray to her.

Katara accepted the food but made no moves to eat the food.

"What's wrong? Aren't'cha hungry?" Luffy asked with his mouth full.

Nami looked over too, a bit worried for the girl. She heard earlier frankys shout but since it was for chopper and luffy was already eating, everyone had to stay and protect their meal.

"I know how I got here now." Katara admitted, more eyes turning to her curiously. "A spirit took me here to heal the sea. They said they were hurting and angry. They wanted help."

Sanji walked in, chopper in tow, "The spirit of the sea said all of that?"

She nodded. "Earlier someone asked me what I wanted to do with my time here. I know I wanted to learn how to get home. But now I know that I'm here for a reason. A really good one. I want to help the spirit. I want to stay with this crew and change the world."

Luffy grinned brightly, thinking that it was a wonderful idea.

"How are you going to help a spirit heal?" Brook asked, much less surprised by the wonders of the sea than their young doctor.

"I'm not sure, but I know I can do it! Plus they said that im not doing this alone."

"Oh?" Robin mused.

"Something about the legend of D? Balancing the chaos they bring with healing along the way."

Eyes shot at her, wide. "How do you know about that?" Zoro was the second to ask, the first being chopper.

"I told you, I talked to the spirit of the sea."

Zoro didn't believe in any god or spirits. Even believing in brooks existence was a stretch for him. "There is no spirit of the sea."

"So what? You think I'm crazy then?" Katara crossed her arms.

"A bit, yeah."

"Okay fine, how much do you want to bet?"

"Excuse me?"

"How much." Katara asked again, resolve in her eye.

"My right leg."

Chopper quickly smacked his face, "No zoro! As your doctor I can't let you bet on that! Bet on booze instead! If you do lose, it'll actually be benificial to your health." He said standing on the table in front of him, face extremely close to his.

"Fine, I bet 3 years of booze. What do I get if you're wrong?"

Katara tapped her chin, what did zoro want that she could trade? Oh, she knew. "I'll throw sanji overboard whenever you want for a month."

"HAH! I like your spunk. Make it a year and you have a deal." Zoro grinned.

"NO WHY ME??" Sanji shouted, absolutely hating the idea.

Nami, resting her chin on her propped up hand turned to him, "Are you doubting her abilities?"

"N-no! I'd never dishonor a lady like that."

"Good, then there's no problem." Nami smiled mischievously. This was turning out to be quite the fun event. "When do we decide who's the victor?" She turned to Katara.

"When luffy can swim." Katara grinned.

Said boy stopped mid bite, "EH??"

"We need to go to the calm belt though."

Nami, now gasped and started calling her crazy.

Sanji started collecting dishes, leaving Kataras in front of her, adding a few slices of meat he saved in the kitchen, out of reach from luffy.

"Robin," nami called, "Help me explain that we can't go there!"

"I want to see what happens when we go. If the sunny gets attacked, we will fight and leave if needed. It'll be a good way to get our captains energy out. And if we do have to leave, we get to see sanji go overboard."

Sanji cried, "Why do you wish for my suffering??"

Nami still wasn't impressed but was considering the idea. "Luffy, your call."

"Let's do it! I wanna see some sea kings."
