How? 

That was the only thing going through Kaya's mind at that very moment. How did it get this bad? How could she have let this happen to him? At first she was running with Usopp who was trying to protect her from an enemy pirate. "MAMMAMAMAMA!" cackled a shrill voice. One thing lead to another and...

CRASH

Fire, thats all the strawhats could see. Scorching flames consumed the Thousand Sunny. Zoro cut through rotten doors to make a pathway for Sanji to carry Nami through. Big Mom's ship had ambushed the poor ship and now everything was falling apart. "FRANKY! GET BROOK AND ROBIN, TELL THEM TO GET OFFBOARD!" Luffy called out. The pale blue haired cyborg grunted and grabbed both of his crewmates with his large hands, running to shore. Usopp was about to leave but her heard someone yell his name. "U-usopp-san help! It's stuck!" 

Kaya cried, tugging at the burnt corner of her dress trapped in a jammed door. Usopp dodged falling objects and wrapped his muscular arms around her slim waist, pulling with her. He spotted a broken glass cup nearby. Gripping it firmly, Usopp cut the edge of her dress and left the light neon yellow fabric lodged between the door hinges. Usopp scooped her up bridal style and bolted towards the kitchen's door to leave the ship. He had burn marks and bloody cuts all over his body. His left eye was swollen a bit and his nose slightly crooked. 

"Usopp you're hurt! Chopper can help you, come on!" Kaya leapt out of his arms and grabbed his hand, dragging him closer to the exit. Usopp resisted. He knew he wouldn't make it. The space was only small enough for one person to go through and he would make sure that person was Kaya. "Kaya..its ok. Go, get out of here the place is collapsing!" Usopp cupped her face and smiled weakly. "Trust me. I'll be fine."  he planted a soft kiss on her forehead blushing. "I love you Kaya-chan."

"Wa-" Usopp used his remaining strength and pushed Kaya out the kitchen door. She lost her footing then fell, landing right into Luffy's extended arms. Tears pricked her eyes. All she could see was darkness surrounding her. Her mouth burst open to let out a terrifed scream. "USOPP-SANNNN!"  right before the ship's burning mast fell down and sunk the firey ship into the ocean. The strawhats were speechless. Luffy's mind kept replaying Ace's death. Over. And over. And over again. Nami sobbed into Sanji's chest as his shaky hands struggled to light his cigarette. 

Franky in all his superness held onto little Chopper, snot running out of his blue nose. Robin. She just stared in disbelief. Brook had no eyes left but tears began to stream out of his empty sockets while he played a sad song on his violin. Not even Binks Sake could lift the mood. Jinbe held his webbed hands over Kaya's eyes to obscure her view of the horrible scene. "Kaya-chan. He did this for you. Because he loved you." he whispered. Kaya screamed and thrashed about, not wanting to accept the truth. 

Zoro. Sure, he had gotten annoyed of Usopp at certain times but he cared for him. He was his nakama, someone who he wished the best for. Through clenched teeth and depressed tears Zoro clutches his sword hilts. "CHARLOTTE LINLIN! YOU WILL PAY! YOU'LL FUCKING PAY FOR KILLING HIM YOU OBESE HARLOT!" he yelled. Luffy dug into the woven straw of his hat with his nails. A dark aura surrounded the whole crew. "Mugiwaras.. She WILL pay. Lets go.." Luffy mumbled. And so the mourning pirate crew walked away in saddness. 

Of losing their dear nakama Usopp to the never ending blaze
