On Monday I subbed in a different room with another teacher and she told the kids if they didn't listen, a monster would get them.

There was this one boy who was kind of nervous because he believed her but also he wouldn't stop talking about the monster. During snack we asked him where the monster was and he said, "Um....right there! To the left!" and proceeded to run to the right.

The next day I was back in my regular room and I saw this boy on the playground. He was getting into trouble, and his teacher was logging something on the class iPad and said jokingly, "If you don't stop, I'll throw you down the chimney."

Boy, running to me: She's gonna throw me down the chimney.

Me: Yes so you better listen to her.

*boy grows quiet and stares up at the chimney-less roof*

Boy: *nervously* There will be fire on me.
