(The last chapter was a chapter you goofs)

Brice's P.O.V.

I run up to the small cabin with Seto in my arms. I'm not in a rush, it's just that I don't want it to get too dark and cold.

Holding Seto in one arm I knock on the door.

No response.

I knock again, my arm feeling weaker.

No response.

I switch arms and knock one last time.

"I'm coming! I'm coming, hold on!" A voice calls from inside. 'Wonder who that is?' My question is answered when the door swings open. A young lady, about a year or two older than me, stands in the doorway. She has purple hair and pale skin. Not a single freckle in sight. She has an apple with a bite out of it in hand. "Two questions. One; Who're you? Two; Why are you carrying my little brother?"

'Okay, so she knows Seto. That's good.'

"Well, I'm Brice for starters, and Seto fell asleep so I picked him up and carried him here." I say, answering both questions. She stares at me, as if deciding whether or not to trust me. "Alright come on in." She finally says and steps out of the doorway.

I walk inside and look around. The floor is made out of smooth, polished oak wood. A doorway to my left leads to a living room with a fireplace, a couch, a small table and a chair. Going straight leads me to a staircase. What is up there is not to my knowledge. To my right, a doorway entering a roomy little kitchen. The smell of cinnamon fills the house.

"Nice place." I finally say. Seto's sister leads me to the living room. I place Seto on the chair and we sit on the couch. She looks at me and nods, "Sure is. What were you doing with Seto before you got here?" "He was in this giant cardboard box castle and we hung out in there for a while. I think I overstepped my boundaries though? Then he fell asleep so I brought him here based on some glowing light above his chest." She looks at me for a minute, slightly glaring.

Then she looks away.

We sit in an awkward silence for what seems like hours. I feel sweat beading down my forehead. Finally, she sighs. "I'm Vadel by the way." I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding, "You already know, but I'm Brice. I'm visiting here for a few weeks." Vadel grins. "Who're you staying with?" "My cousin, Mitch. I haven't seen him in a few years so I hope things aren't weird when I see him." She nods, "I'm sure thing'll be fine." I smile, "I sure hope so."
