A small bustling village was hidden within a seaside valley. Rolling hills surrounded the coast, thought the large elven tree stood out on the right hand cove. The morning sun rising from the east seashore ascended into the sky, shimmering down onto a state of an angelic goddess. A women stood before her, staring up towards the gem the stone women held, the sun glistening off the crystal and down into the he sparkling fountain below her. She remained silent, pondering of what the day will endure.
This Lady had long, Jett black hair, deep amber brown eyes, and sun-kissed skin. She wore a purple cropped top and lilac jean shorts, and black sneakers with lilac accents. She had a pair of grey fingerless gloves, and a backwards facing grey baseball cap.
"Lady Aphmau," An approaching feminine voice called for her. "The boys are all set up for the day, should I take them out for some socialization with the other village children?"
The Lord, Aphmau, snapped out of her trance and looked towards the approaching elf. "I would appreciate that, zoey. Would you mind taking the dogs on a walk too? I let them out when I got up, but they really should get the chance to traverse the village."
"Of course my lady, I wouldn't mind at all." The elven women, zoey, smiled, before dismissing herself back down the hill.
After a few more minutes of speaking in her surroundings, Aphmau descended the hill, traveling back up yet another to her own home. She still had a simple cobbled stone home with a wooden roof, strung up flags from the roof pinned to the ground where the only real decoration to give character. She headed inside, the house eerily silent. She breathed a sigh of relief, having woken up in the wrong side of the bed that morning, she induced unpleasant dreams all night long. She headed down a level to the stone basement, her bed kiddy-cornered against the far wall, having a small window beside embedded into the hill.
"This place needs some cleaning, my chests are unorganized, my armor and weaponry is getting dull, I should sort through my possessions again, I probably forgot some supplies here for village renovation..." she spoke to herself, looking back at the wall with the stairs, where she had an array of unorganized, overflowing chests. It looked as if it was a clumsily stored dresser, random items all over the place, poking out from the drawers, and sprawled all over the floor on that side of her room.
She began cleaning out everything, all her belongings sprawled out on the floor. A good hour or so passed of her organizing, storing away items in correct groupings, making piles of what she wanted to dispose of or give away, another of village supplies she needed to drop off later, another of weaponry and tools. She attempted to open one of her drawers, but it lodged itself stuck. After a few minutes if prying, a splitting snapping sound was heard. Upon opening the drawer, she found one of her bows had wedged itself between the drawer and dresser, and was now snapped on half. She groaned, annoyed a perfectly good bow was broken. She tossed it to the side, but with her back turned, she heard a thud. Glancing back she noticed she had hid a few apples in the drawer, which she had forgotten about. She had hidden them away since her toddler was go thing through a teething phase, and all he wanted to do was bite things- apples having become a fun target for him. She watched as one of the fallen apples rolled underneath her bed, and she sighed, begrudgingly going down to the floor.
She crawled over to the bed, extending her arm out in search for the apple, but grabbing something else instead. She pulled back a grey backpack with lilac trimmings, her eyes going wide. She tossed the bag onto the bed, reaching again for the rouge apple, and upon finding it, rolled it back tot he fallen pile on the floor. She thrusted herself up onto her bed afterwards, fixated on the backpack she rediscovered. This was the bag she first arrived to phoenix drop with, sling over her shoulder, but now resided in the far depths beneath her bed. She hesitantly opened the backpack, unzipping the pouch ti reveal the forgotten memories she suppressed.
Inside the capsule she pulled out a golden pin, engraved with the initials SMH.  She then found a silver locket pertaining the same initials, and then a withered scrapbook, tattered from time. The last thing she retrieved was an old camcorder. It was dead by now, probably doesn't even work any longer from it's age and corroded batteries. She briefly open the scrapbook, before abruptly slamming it shut upon hearing her front door creak open.
"Hello? M'Lady, are you home?" A voice echoed from the upper floor, and Aphmau turned to face the stairs.
"Yes, I'm down in the basement!" She replied. She quickly tossed the four items back into the backpack, scooting away from it on the bed, attempting to appear as if she wasnt doing anything with.
A guard in silver armor walked down the stairs, being a bit slow and holding onto the railing.
"You know it would be a hell of a lot easier if you weren't wearing that helmet all the time." Aphmau smirked, giving her head knight a look.
"And you know I feel more comfortable with it on."
"You took it off for me for Logan & Donna's wedding"
"That's different! Anyway, am I interrupting anything?" the guard regained his composure
"Nothing much, Garroth, I just was finishing up organizing my belongings. Decided I needed a good cleaning with all the items I accumulated." She rose form the bed, picking up a few items. "I do need to bring some of these supplies down to the square, I know Dante may find use with some of the supplies. Could you take that old pile of armor and weaponry to the barracks for it to be smelted down or sharpened? I don't need it anymore, someone else may find use of it. Call Laurence if you need a hand, I need to get my morning rounds in before it's too late"
"I- yes M'Lady. I won't hold you up any longer.
Aphmau smiled in response, heading home the straits and out to the village.
"So what's with the mess down here?" Another masculine voice asked from the stairs.
"Laurence! You cannot just enter a lady's home without permission!" Garroth turned to the stairs, flustered and annoyed.
"Yet you can?" The brunette knight retorted.
"That's different! I knocked! Then opened the door to ask if she was home since I got no response for five minutes."
"Sure, sure" he smirked, walking down the rest of the way. "What a mess, what was she doing down here?" Laurence asked, nudging one of the apples with his foot.
"It's her cleaning day, she requested we take the armor and weaponry to the barracks to either smelt or sharpen them for future use- don't you go snooping through her things!"
"Relax, I'm not! Well, yet anyway" he smirked again, his devilish grin seeming to be ever present on his face. "What's with the backpack? Is she planning on running away from her duties? Or running off with me?"
"Don't get in over your head." Garroth rolled his eyes. "That's the backpack she first arrived here with. You think she moved here empty handed?"
"I'd assume with a wagon of possessions... just a bag? Was she homeless?"
"I'm not too sure, she's never engulfed about her past"
"I'd love to know what she could be hiding" Laurence sat down in her bed, proceeding to unzip the bag.
"That's an invasion of privacy!" Garroth shouted, alarmed by his shamelessness.
"Garroth, you and I both want to know more about our potential girlfriend, you really won't turn a blind eye to what im doing? She won't be back for a while."
"I won't be an accomplice in your dastardly deeds" Garroth grumbled, bending down and beginning to gather the pile of armor.
Laurence turned his attention to the bag, pulling out all sorts of items. He retrieved the golden pin first, examining the accessory before biting it.
        "What are you doing..."
"I was testing if it was pure gold, obviously, but it's just plated. It's made of some weird metal I've never seen before."
This caught Garroth's attention, which he glanced back up at him. "I beg your pardon?"
"SMH.... I wonder what that stands for. Maybe Sexy mega hotties, she definitely would've been apart of that group."
"Get your mind out of the gutter!" Garroth stood strait up, removing his helmet to give Laurence a dirty look. He put his helmet down beside Laurence on the bed, deciding to take a look at the pin.
"Hold this one second." He handed the pin over ti Garroth, retrieving the locket next form the bag. "Another set of initials, how much do you bet there's a group of hotties in here?"
"You just want to see her in a bikini"
"You read my mind!" Laurence popped open the locket, but a puzzled look spread across his face instead. "It's her with a group of seven others, they don't look alike at all, so probably not her family..." he then handed the locket ti Garroth to look at
"Why are you handing me everything?"
"I'm not loosing it in this bed, you know if you set anything down the sheets will consume it" Laurence rolled his eyes, retrieving the scrapbook from the backpack. "Bingo, this is exactly what I'm looking for."
"Is it really a right idea to intrusively invade her privacy?"
"We're already this deep, why not finish the grave?" Laurence asked, flipping open the book.
The first page contained a group photo of the eight posing in a bamboo forest. Flipping through more of the pages carefully, the withered edges, seeming ti want to break off from his touch. The next notable photos where of her and some of her friends with in a tiny dug out room, a small sign in the background signifying that only girls where allowed in. The next was of her in some sort of armored suit with a red cape and hammer, another looking up at this pristine white hall, underneath the photo inscribed the hall of justice. Another photo has the inscription of Little Tokyo, her and another guy standing on a small bridge surrounded by cherry blossom trees in a snowstorm, behind them was a small village. There was another of Aphmau standing before a golden rising palace, ASGARD, Inscribed beneath. The next was if the group of eight standing together in their super suits outside the hall, another inscribed The Promise Lands, as well.  Near the end of the book there where wedding photos of one of their friends, an above shot of the main city, the last photo in the book being the group together before the globe and podium, all smiling together.
"She looked so happy... I wonder what happened..." Laurence shook his head.
"Clearly something if she decided to leave these people, they look as close as a family" Garroth agreed in his sentiment.
"I wonder why they all wear those funny costumes, some of them look absolutely ridiculous." Laurence set the book down on his lap, looking into the bag. "Looks like I found the culprit for his she took so high quality photos, she's got a weird looking photo device in there. It looks very futuristic." He reached his hand into the bag again, pulling out a small disk this time.
"I wonder what this is..." Laurence instinctively pressed down in the palm sized disk, locking into a button. He quickly tossed it back into the bag, sliding the locket and pin back in as well. "I should probably put these back so she doesn't freak out that we looked through her things..."
"As stated, I'm not going to be your accomplice in snooping, just because you showed me all this doesn't mean I'll go down with you. You can ask her all you want about it, but I'm going to pretend I never saw it and instead let her tell me if she ever chooses to open up about her past." Garroth waved him off, turning back to pick up the pile he bunched together, before jumping in shock.
"... Why where you going through my things?..." a pale Aphmau replied, absolutely stunned to see her two most Layla knights invading her privacy.
"M-M'Lady, it's not what it looks like! Actually it is what it looks like, I had no part in this though..." Garroth sighed, defeated.
Aphmau shook her head and flopped back onto her bed, the waist down hanging off the side.
"Nobody was supposed to know about my past, I wanted to leave it there."
"Am I allowed to ask who all these people are? And why they're dressed like dorks?" Laurence asked.
Aphmau smiled slightly, laughing under her breath. "Fine, fine, I guess I should let you two in on my troubles, it's unhealthy to keep it all bottled up." She sat up onto the bed. "These are, or where... my friends." She began pointing to each individually, naming them off. "Sly, Katz, Alex, Kala, Steven, Castor, and José. We all have super powers, gifted to us by an unknown source. We built those cities and protected the innocents who lived there, but I left the group due to a falling out with sly. I went by the name Lady Thor, my powers are the control of electricity and lightning. After our falling out I unlit my torch, signifying I was leaving, left behind my suit in Asgard, my home, and set my hammer in front of my pedestal." She flipped the book to a page with a picture of her lighting her torch fur the first time.
"I mean I always knew you looked like a goddess, I didn't realize you actually where one as well" Laurence smirked.
"So you left and came here? But your name is so unique, shouldn't work of our village Lord, lady Aphmau, have spread that far?" Garroth asked
She shook her head. "Aphmau is my middle name, they know me by my first name, Jessica. They usually just call mr Jess though. I no longer have access to my powers, I needed my hammer to be able to channel them. Let's just forget about this, alright?" She asked, sliding her scrapbook back into the backpack.
"As you wish, m'lady" they both replied in unison.
If only she noticed the blinking light inside her backpack...
