Neav: MUMMAAA!!

Avni shuts her eyes tightly. She was ready to feel the bullet in herself another time.

But a hoarse manly scream echoed accross the Hall.

Avni opened her eyes only to find blood spattered over the floor. She looked at the source it was avinash laying on the floor screaming in pain. He clutched his shoulder.

He was shot on shoulder but who did it?

Avni turned around to find Neil standing there with a gun in his hand. His expressions were deadly.

Neil looked at avni then neav. He went to neav and took him in his arms.

Neav: thankyou aap aagye... (Hugging his neck) pata hai main kitna dar gya tha... (Crying)

Avni stood there seeing this scene.

Neil went towards her and handed over neav.

Neav immediately hugged her tightly fearing to loose her again.

Avinash layed on the floor clutching his shoulder groaning in pain.

Neil went upto him and clutched his hair in his hand.

Neil: how dare you? How dare you meri avni ko chot pahunchane ki..... Mere bete pe haath lagane ki himmat kaise huyi teri?

He slapped him hard. Avinash fell on the other side.

Neil got hold of him again and started beating him black and blue.

Avni looked on. She thinks.

Soon police siren was heard. DD vidyut and karan came inside the Hall. They looked at avni and neav and sighed in relied as they were okay.

Police took an unconscious avinash with them.

Neil stood there with red rage filled eyes. Neil was hell angry.
He could have shot him on his heart to end the story there only but he had promised himself and anita that he would never take anybody's life again.

His anger clouded his mind. He placed hand on his head frustratingly.

Avni had tears in her eyes. This time she saw the childhood Neil who will fight anyone for her.

But some things are not easily forgotten. The sight of Neil shooting her came up again.

She closed her eyes and looked away.

They reached outside the building near their cars.

Neil stood up and came to avni and neav who were standing there.

Neav: Superman aapke haath pe to chot aayi hai...

Neil saw his hand it was bleeding due to constant punches he gifted that bastard.

Neil: koi ni baccha... Yeh to choti se chot hai theek ho jayegi... Avni... Tum theek ho...

Avni nodded in a yes.

Neav: mumma please Superman ke haath pe bandage laga do na.. Nahi to unki chot dard karegi... (Pouts)

Avni and Neil looks at each other.

Karan and DD who stood at distance talking to police heard this and looked on.

Neav took Neil's and avni's hands and made him sit on a step made outside the door of building.

He rushed to the car and took out the first aid box and came back to them.

Neav: yeh lo mumma...

He stood there keeping the box in his hand.

Avni looked at Neil and Neil looked at neav.

Neil: iski koi zarurat nahi hai neav... Main theek hoon..

He was about to get up when avni held his left hand and pulled him to make him sit.

Karan saw this and sighed. He gave a Smile.

Neil looked at avni a small smile crept on his lips.

Avni kept her face straight.

Neav to smiled seeing this.

Avni: (taking cotton pellet from the box and dipping it with antiseptic) dressing karni padegi nahi to infection ho jayegi...

Neil smiled at her care.

He hissed on the contact of antiseptic to the wound.

Avni blew on it constantly muttering sorry...

There were tears in her eyes.

(Woh gana yaad aaya mujhe🥺 "Chot lagi hai use phir kyu mehsoos mujhe ho raha... Dil tu bata de kya irada tera...")

Neil smiled to himself. If she wanted she could have dragged neav along with her and left but no... she chose to comply with what neav demands even if it was taking his care.

Avni avoided looking in his eyes. She did the dressing and stood up.

Neav: thank you mumma... (To Neil) ab aapko pain nahi hoga... Okay...

Neil: (nods) ab kabhi pain nahi hoga (smiles)

He said this looking at avni. Karan felt a strange feeling in his heart.

Avni: neav... Chalo... Ghar chalte hai...

She took his hand and made him sit in the car. Karan and DD took the other car.

Neil stood there watching the cars leave. He smiled a bit and looked at his bandaged hand. He recalls avni making him sit. He felt a wave of happiness in his heart.

Neil: ek baar hi sahi avni... At least tumne meri fikar to dikhayi...

He sat and drove to the hotel.

Reaching khanna mansion shweta and prakash hugged avni and neav. They were worried for them now when they are here in front if then they can have a sigh of relief.

Soon after dinner neav layed on the bed hugging avni.

Avni took his hand near her lips and kissed it. She saw some marks on his wrist which were probably because of the rope that was tied around them tightly.
Tears built in her eyes.

Few drops fell on his hand waking him.

Neav: mumma...

Avni looked at him.

Neav saw tears in her eyes. He immediately sat up and cupped her face with his tiny hands.

Neav: aap sad kyu ho? Main theek hoon na... Aur aap to meri brave mumma ho na...

Avni nods a bit and kissed his hand.

Neav: aapko pata hai mumma... Main na waha bilkul bhi nahi dara... Kyu ki mujhe pata tha ki aap mujhe kuch nahi hone doge. (Smiles)

Avni caressed his face gently. She removed his hands from her face and took them in her hands.

Avni: I'm sorry baccha... Mumma bohut buri hai na... Mumma aapko..

Neav placed finger on her lips.

Neav: shh.. Meri mumma ko koi bura nahi bol sakta aap bhi nahi... Samjhe?

Avni smiled through tears and nods. Neav wiped her tears with his small hands.

Neav: Mumma aap yaha aao mujhe aapko ek magic dikhana hai...

He asked her to lay her head in his lap.

Avni: baccha aap kya kar rahe ho?... Aise..?

Neav: mumma shh... Karo na... Meri godi mein sir rakho mujhe aapko ek magic dikhana hai...

Avni did as he said.

Neav adjusted her head on his lap and starting singing 'Aa le ke chalu tujhko...'

Avni was surprised at his action. She tried to get up but neav held her head in place and patted her continuously.

Neav smiled seeing his mom. Avni recalled all the sweet memories of her childhood. She got a gentle smile on her face.

After the song ended avni got up.

Neav: mera magic kaisa laga? Aapka mood theek ho gya na..

Avni: (nods) aapko yeh sab kisne sikhaya?

Neav: Superman ne... (Excited) pata hai mumma woh bohut acche hai... Meri care bhi karte hai aur..

Avni wanted to deny each and everything containing his name but 'some things are never easily forgotten'. The constant fight between her heart and mind was making her weak.

Avni: neav... Bohut der ho gyi hai baccha chalo so jao... Hum kal bat karenge...

Neav nodded and slid into the duvet. Avni layed with him. She made him sleep but herself was wide awake.

She kept on thinking about today's fight.

She tried some breathing exercises and slept hugging neav close to her heart.

While Neil reached hotel he was bombarded with questions from anita and akshay.

Anita panicked seeing bandage on his hand. She insisted on going to hospital but Neil said it was just a mild injury and will get well soon. He walked them to their room and asked them to sleep.

He himself laid on the bed thinking about today.

The way avni reacted when she suspected him. The pain and fear for her child.

Neil sighed and got up. he walked to the cupboard and took out a photo frame.

Neil: samajh nahi aa raha hai kuch bhi.. koi to ishara.. koi to rasta dikhao mujhe... kaise baat karu? (deep breath)

He placed the photo back in the cupboard when he heard a knock on the door. He frowned.

It was nearly 12 in the night. He thought maybe its anita or akshay. He opened the door.

it was Karan standing there with a tiffin in his hand.

Neil was surprised seeing him there.

Karan: haan bhai .. main... Ab hato... andar aane do...

He shoved him aside and went inside his room.

Neil: oh hello.. yeh kya badtameezi... aadhi raat ko mere room mein kaise aa sakte ho tum?

Karan: badaam laa ke diye the na khaye nahi honge (slapping his forehead)(Neil gave a strange look)  (sighs) bhool gye kya... abhi abhi tumne darwaza khola mere liye... (sitting on the couch)

Neil: kuch nahi ho sakta tera... yeh bata yaha kyu aaya hai? (siting in front of him.)

Karan: gharba khelne...

Neil: ek sawal ka seedha jawab de dega to kya height kam ho jayegi teri? (irritated)

Karan: tum mujhse seedha baat kar loge to baal jhad jayenge tumhare? (same tone)

Neil: (sternly) Karan...

Karan: (same tone) Neil..

Neil closed his eyes took a few deep breathes to control his anger. he turned his face to the other side. Karan smiled seeing his condition.

Karan: accha sorry abhi nahi karta... main to bas taang khichayi kar raha tha...

Neil looks at him from the corner of his eyes and hummed.

Karan: accha yeh dekho main kya laya hoon.. (taking out the tiffin boxes)

Neil smiled and immediately took the box in his hands. He opened it. It was his favorite kheer. He smiled widely.

Neil: thanks karan... Thankyou so much... pata hai maine dinner bhi nahi kiya tha aur bhook bhi lagi thi..

He was eating kheer like a baby...

Karan smiled seeing him.

Karan: maine ghar pe sab ko bata diya hai...

Neil stopped eating and looked at him

Neil: tum.. tumne... mom dad ko...

Karan nods.

Neil grew restless. Karan held his hand and squeezed it assuring him.

Karan: woh tumse milna chahte hai...miloge?

Neil looked at him.

Neil: pata nahi karan.. mujhe nahi pata kya main tyaar bhi hoon... aur avni... avni ko accha nahi lagega... main...

Karan: calm down neil... Main hoon na tumhare saath kuch nahi hoga aur rahi baat avni ki to i have a gut feeling ...woh maan hi jayegi... (smile) mere paas ek idea hai..

He tells him something.

Neil looked on he was a bit skeptical about this idea...

Neil: i don't think so yeh kaam karega... you know her..

Karan: karega... zarur karega.. par tum to try karo...

Neil nodded his head but still worrying about his plan.

Karan: ab main chalta hoon.. bohut der ho gyi.. aur yeh tiffin ..kal le lunga... (smiles)

Karan went. Neil looks on.

Next day avni was sitting in her cabin when sargun came there.

Sargun: good morning mam..

Avni: good morning sargun (smiles)

Sargun nervously fiddled with the pen in her hand. she looked at the cabin window to find karan standing there. He signaled her to go and say...

Flashback

Karan called sargun to his cabin.

Karan: sargun..woh us raat jo bhi kuch hua like i'm sor...

Sargun: professional business time hai yeh sir... i hope humein baar baar yeh baat yaad na dilani pade... as long as main resign na kar doon... Main aapki secretory hoon sir.. aap  koi bhi kaam keh sakte hai mujhse...

Karan felt sad at her words but he too was unable to do anything.

He know that he can never be with avni but his morals also don't allow him to cheat sargun but faking love.

Karan:  mera ek kaam karna hoga tumhe.. (sargun nods) avni ke saath dinner pe jana hoga...

Sargun shocked.

Flashback ends.

Avni looked up from the file. Sargun still stood there without a word.

Avni: sargun... good morning ke ilawa bhi koi baat karni hai?

Sargun swallowed a lump. 

Sargun: woh mam... mere saath dinner pe chaloge?

Avni: What!!!

Sargun: ab.. mera matlab... g..girls night out... haan... matlab aap hi ne to kaha tha ki hum dost hai... bohut acche wale.. to.. kaafi dino se time hi nahi spend kiya humne... isiliye maine socha... mood bhi ekdam accha ho jayega humara...

Sargun was time and again looking at the window nervously.

Avni suspiciously looked there. It was nothing.

Avni: sargun... baat kya hai?

Sargun: kuch nahi mam.. woh bas wahi hai jo maine bataya hai...aap chaloge na? 

Avni: tum bhi na sargun... 

Sargun: please mam...

Avni: okay fine.. par kaha?

Sargun: woh main decide karke bata doongi.. thankyou mam..

Before avni could say anything sargun ran outside.

Avni: yeh sargun bhi na.. ho na ho karan ne isse bheja hoga mujhe manane ke liye...lekin is baar Mr. Karan Khanna thode din to gussa sehna hoga mera... (determined)

Other side,

Akshay and Anita sat in their room  with a photo in her hand.

Anita: Bhool gya woh...

Akshay: anita... busy hai woh.. akhir kab tak humare liye rahega woh.. tum fikar mat karo please... hmm.. 

Akshay side hugged her.

Anita's phone rang.. it was Neil calling her. she answered

Anita: haan bolo beta.. kya hua?

Neil: maa please jaldi se mere room mein aajayiye.. jaldi..

Anita: kya.. kya hua beta.. hello.. hello... (the line went dead)

Akshay: kya hua?

Anita: pata nahi yuvi ka phone tha.. kehta jaldi aao kamre mein.. chalo jaldi..

They rushed to his room. as they opened the door they were shocked to see...
