Part 39 | Three Words

Races went by and we finally got to Great Brittain, fuck I'd been sobbing the entire day after the race, seeing Lando on that podium made me feel proud as hell, it even made me want to annunce us to the entire world.

Lando was doing amazing in his Practices, Qualifying and races lately. I loved my job, I loved being close to Lando like this, I loved that I was able to celebrate his victories with him.

I loved my job.

The race that Sunday were also the day I realized my true feelings. I hadn't said it out loud to him yet, but fuck—I'm deeply in love with him, I love him.

So, so, so incredibly much. There aren't enough words in the world to describe how I feel for this man.

I just...I didn't feel like I was able to find the perfect moment to tell him. There was something all of the time, the only time we were alone was when we were going to bed together, after the dinners and all of that, we went to his room or mine.

But that was it.

I sat up in the bed and closed my watch around my wrist, I leaned forward to grab Lando's jersey and I slipped it over my body. "What are you thinking about?" Lando's voice brought me out of my deep thoughts.

"You" I retorted with a cringe and Lando laughed before wrapping his arms around my waist from behind, he pulled me further onto the bed and held me as he forced me to lay back down.

"I have work to do" I complained, Lando only shut up me up with his lips. I kissed him back and enjoyed his embrace more than anything.

The three words danced on my tongue, but his tongue were stopping mine, so it wasn't this moment to do it either.

"We're still going out tonight right?" Lando asked as we pulled away for air after a few intense minutes.

"Yeah, I talked to Charles, he's down as well as Carlos" I say and Lando nods before pecking my lips once again.

"I was thinking about something" Lando slowly said and I felt him tense up a bit, so I sat up on my own and faced him before nodding my head for him to go on.

"My grandparents and parents are coming to the race here in Hungary and since we agreed to go further with our relationship, I was thinking that maybe you'd want to meet them?" Lando rambled and his insecurity peaked through his facade.

I smiled a little and brought my hand up to his cheek, to stop him and he looked at me, waiting for a reaction.

"I think it's a good idea" I said, Lando smiled a little brighter and pulled me closer, I had no choice but to straddle him.

He wrapped his arms around my waist and buried his head in my breasts as he took deep breaths, he had been growing nervous while waiting for a reaction.

"How about your parents?" Lando asked after a while and looked up at me, still with his arms locked around my waist.

"Well, don't count on them. I haven't seen them in a year I think" I said and calculated the time I last saw them to now in my head. "Yeah, a year is about right" I said and shrugged a little.

"Why not?" Lando asked confused, there was sympathy dancing in his eyes and my heart grew a little bigger by it.

"Well, as soon as Sofia and I were old enough to be on our own, they sort of took off. They wanted to travel the world, without us of course, so I took care of Sophia and the Leclerc family were there for us, all of them" I explained.

"How could they just leave their children like that?" Lando asked with a frown. "Some people doesn't have a hard time leaving their children like that" I replied with a shrug.

"It doesn't bother me anymore. It's fine" I assured him and gave him a small smile. "Maybe your family and the Leclerc's have enough love to share with me?" I teased and smirked at him a little.

"I'm pretty sure we do, no worries" Lando said with a laugh. I chuckled a little before cupping his face in my hands.

The moment grew a little more intense and serious. I knew I had a perfect opportunity to say it.

It was easy, all I had to do was open my mouth and say it. Just say it. I know I love him, so I should just say it.

My smile dropped a little as I stared down at Lando who leaned into my hands. "Lando, I-I—" I started but stopped myself as I started stuttering.

Lando grinned a little before leaning his forehead against mine, he knew. His face told me, he knew.  Not that it took a genius.

"I love you, Jasmine Summers" Lando exhaled deeply as he said the words, like they had been weighting him down.

"I love you too, Lando Norris" I finally said it out loud. Lando smiled wider and kissed me deeply. Our lips worked together perfectly, it felt right.

Despite my fear of meeting Lando's family, I couldn't wait. If all of them had one tiny bit of Lando in them, I knew I would love them.

After going out that night, I let Charlotte know of our next move, to not make her job harder. We came up with a pretty clear plan, so we did our best to keep up with it, both Lando and I.

Most of the paddock knew we were dating now, but still kept it to themselves, it was inevitable, so we just rolled with it and took it slow, as we needed.

Still I was happier than ever. My fear were slowly dying, but they would always be a tiny part of me. I never forgot, but I grew past it, most of it anyways.

And it worked.
