I binged all of Castlevania Nocturne last night. Well, I almost did. But then my laptop died right in the middle of the last episode! I was sad fr but I had to go to bed. So, I finished the rest of it today. And it wasn't that bad, but I wasn't crazy about it either. I liked the art-style and the fight scenes, but this series is mainly character driven. Which means that you need to like the characters. But I didn't. Ik ik sounds crazy, but hear me out! It's not like I didn't like any of the characters, it just that some of them felt off or just fell flat.

But the main reason why I didn't like them was because of the voice acting in the show. Not to say that all the voice actors did a bad job, it's just that some characters' voices either didn't fit, or just didn't make sense to me. Like Richter's voice was rough, I didn't get used to it until way later. Same with Olrox, except that his voice just felt like it didn't match the character.

But besides the voice acting, and the setting of France (France stans please don't come for me) everything else was great! France just wasn't it for me cuz they kept talking about the revolution, and was like "Where am I, history class? Or another Kenshin fight?"

Plus, the difference in the way they way they dress from the medieval period that Castlevania took place was really hard to get used to. And then, the one character that I was rooting for Edurard turned into a night creature, and was locked away from the rest of the gang in the first or second episode! I was like why bruh. But you gotta have a goal in mind somewhere. I think it was episode 4 when I finally started liking the show.

Maria and her bird powers were cool, despite that every time I looked at her, I thought I was looking at a glass doll attending a tea party. But Annette was amazing with her alchemy abilities, definitely my favorite character. Either her or Olrox. Drolta was pretty cool too! Her design and demeanor were all great.

No wait! I really liked Maria's mom Tera. She was so powerful and capable in the show! Definitely a character I'd watch for. And Richter was cool ig, imo he wasn't cool until episode 7 when he popped off, but hey that's just me. Plus, that random romantic scene with Richter and Annette came out of nowhere! I was already shocked about the whole Tera and the priest thing, but now this? I didn't know what to expect at that point. Cuz I'm all for them getting together, but I saw no build up to it. No hints or anything like that at all.

All I remember was the mc running away from his trauma, and then Annette and the gang had to plan stuff while he was gone. And she was angry about it too! But next thing I know he's back and they're making goo goo eyes at each other. Idk how that happened between Annette and Richter, at least what they're starting to hint at, that whole thing completely caught me off guard. But overall, not a bad show. It can be entertaining at times, with very different themes than I was expecting. But I think I'll stick around and see what happens next, since things finally started to get interesting towards the end.
