Taeyong has been occupied with Blue's birthday party. He's been arranging things here and there. They did agree on catering and have some acts for entertainment. Just a simple children's party but the omega has been feeling a bit down.

He just thought it was just a winter flu but Taeil did push him to leave work for a few days. Taeyong didn't argue and just let himself get as much as sleep as he can. He hasn't been sleeping that well and doesn't eat that much anymore so leaving work might help.

But he was still working on the party. Jaehyun's just checking up on him every hour which was too much but the alpha can't be blamed.

On the other hand, Jaehyun has been busy with other businesses and their company's anniversary party. He's been in different venues and even coordinated with different production teams. He's been all over the place. He has Taeyong on his mind, too worried about what's happening to his mate.

He has to call and check once in a while. He couldn't even visit him just because Taeyong didn't want him to. Jaehyun felt frustrated but he doesn't have any choice but to let the omega have his own time alone.

"Mr. Jung, excuse me."

Jaehyun snapped out of his thoughts and looked at his employee. They were in another venue hall which they already checked out. They decided to just take it and let the production do their work as early as possible. It was big enough for the amount of business partners and family and it looks good.

"Yes? Are there any problems?" Jaehyun asked.

"I'm sorry but the only day unoccupied is this week's Saturday," the employee said.

The alpha furrowed his eyebrows, "What? Saturday is a no-go. I have somewhere to attend to. Where is the owner?"

"But sir, the other venue halls are already packed and the next reservation would be next month. The production team doesn't have enough time for us. They need to prepare for their other client as well," the employee uttered.

Jaehyun sighed, frustrated, and combed his hair back. He'll probably have the busiest day this week which wasn't something he was asking for. He thought he could enjoy the whole day with his family but maybe ended up cutting his time short for the anniversary party.

"Okay, whatever. Saturday it is. Have Doyoung email the attendees and also, tell the president to hold a meeting for planning."

"Noted, sir."

This kind of situation isn't helping him.

Taeyong decided to talk with Jaehyun tonight. He had his time and he wants some assurance from his own mate. Getting some time alone wasn't helping and it isn't good for him. He just feels sick and tired of anxiety. He wants to stop drowning himself.

He stayed in the house. He called Donghyuck that he'll take his night out and lets him do whatever he wants. By now, he needs to keep in mind that his brother is not the kid he's been protecting and carrying anymore. He's a grown up man and Taeyong wants him to learn on his own from now on.

The omega cooked dinner while he waits for the alpha. He's been feeling better since he was able to get some fresh air. He fed Blue and prepared him for bed. Jaehyun just comes home this late because of the company and Taeyong understands.

He was in the living room after he changed into his pyjamas, seated on the couch upon hearing the entrance door opening. Taeyong stood and caught Jaehyun getting startled at his presence. The alpha furrowed his eyebrows and looked confused.

"I...didn't receive any messages from you that you were staying," Jaehyun uttered.

Taeyong hummed, "I kinda want to talk to you...about something."

The alpha nodded, "Me too. Before that, I'll just change."

"Okay. I'll meet you in the room."

"Okay, lovely," Jaehyun called.

Taeyong playfully rolled his eyes before he walked towards his mate with a small smile on his face. The omega wrapped his arms around the alpha while the alpha's arm was around the omega's back. They shared a small kiss for a greeting. They haven't really been this close for the past days and they missed it.

The familiar warmth they've been missing.

"Welcome home, by the way."

When Jaehyun was finished changing his clothing, they settled inside their bedroom which was Jaehyun's, originally. Taeyong was seated on the edge of the bed while Jaehyun drying up his hair with a towel.

"You can talk first," Jaehyun said.

Taeyong tensed, "O-Oh, you can go first--I mean...mine is not that important."

The alpha hung the towel on the chair's backrest before he went to sit beside the omega.

"You've been acting weird this week and I've been waiting for you to speak to clear my mind. I'm getting worried so I want to know what's bothering you, Taeyong," Jaehyun explained softly.

The omega looked away, looking down as he fidgeted with his fingers. He sighed before he leaned to the side to make his head prop on the alpha's shoulder.

"I...I just worried, anxious that things might backfire because of what I did wrong. I regretted keeping things from you because I'm just that kind of person. I'm not...used to telling people what I feel because I'm bothered that you guys might get bothered."

"I want the best for you. I want you to be happy always and never bother to worry about me so I decided to...become a bit distant from you. I'm really sorry, Jaehyun. You deserve more than me."

Jaehyun took a second before he sighed.

"You don't need to worry anything. I'll stay, whatever happens and that's my promise. You think too much that it hurts me. Know that you're more than enough for me. I deserve no one but you."

"I have nothing. I don't know why I'm more than enough to you," the omega said.

The alpha smiled, his hand held the omega's skinny one and intertwined their fingers.

"Nothing? You have me, Blue, your friends...I want you to leave the past and enjoy what you have right now, okay? I love the selfless you but I would rather let you be selfish for once for your happiness. But that's my job."

"I will be selfless for you, Taeyong. I want you to be happy, contented and feel loved because I love you that much."

Taeyong was left silent. He was crying so Jaehyun just placed a kiss on top of the omega's head.

"What a crybaby," the alpha teased and received a punch from the omega. Taeyong just tried to compose himself and sat back up.

"Anyway, I won't be able to stay that long in the party. I'm needed for the anniversary party. I didn't have any choice to schedule it on the same day," Jaehyun said, upset, "I'm sorry."

"No, it's fine. I'll just tell Blue," the omega uttered.

"But I'm sure he'll be upset. I'll just make it up on Sunday--"

Taeyong placed his hands on Jaehyun's cheek to stop and look at each other, "Look, you don't have to. I'm sure he'll understand, okay? I'll handle it."

They stared at each other for a few seconds before Jaehyun suddenly stole a quick kiss from Taeyong which made the omega startle.

"You like stealing kisses. Why?"

"I'm not stealing. You're mine, aren't you?"
