"Chocolate?"

"Yup. Thanks."

That's when a question popped into my head.

"Hey, Summer. Zoe was perfectly fine in the morning. Then what..."

"Yes she was but as soon as she got into the car she said that her head was aching so badly and that she wouldn't be able to pick you up."

"Oh. Strange." I murmured knitting my eyebrows in deep thought.

"Did you just say something?"

"Nope."I said munching my chocolate.

Zoe was never that kind of person who excused herself from getting out of the house. In fact, she was that kind of a girl who was active all the time and this was what everybody liked about her. Even Kelly wouldn't stand a chance in front of her if looks were better judged by character of the heart and not the makeup. 

Suddenly, a possible explanation came to my mind and I shuddered at the thought. Obviously she would not abandon her best friend for that reason? We would have to talk about that later.

"Ash, what is troubling you so much?"

"Mmm...Nothing?"

"Fine then."She knew not to ask me any further questions if I didn't want to talk about it.

Poor Summer. I didn't want to trouble her too. She really didn't know what this was all about, didn't she?

"MOM!!!!!"I screamed from the doorstep.

"Honey, do you seriously have to scream? You know, I might even go deaf because of that scream and may not actually hear you after."

"Sorry not sorry!"

"Teenagers and their hormones..."

Sometimes my mom acts as if she was never a teenager. My mom, everybody.

"Where's the idiot?"

"Who? Troye?"

"You get me mom!"

"Do not use such language Ali."

"Mom! I told you not to call me that name! That's a boy's name."

"Sometimes I doubt whether you were supposed to be born a girl or boy."

"MOM!!"

"WHAT?"

We screamed (jokingly) at each other until Troye entered shutting tight his ears.

"SHUT UP!!"

We stopped abruptly and stared at Troye.

"What? Don't look at me like that ok? You both were literally shattering my ear drums."

We gave a look of anger at each other and the three of us began to roll over in laughter. My family could be sweet, funny, angry and weird at the same time. My family which consisted of just the three of us.

But I never realized somebody else would be a part of it too.

How's the end? *raises eyebrow*

 Any wild guesses? *grins* 

It feels so good leaving the chapter on a cliffhanger. Hehe... Suspense is amazing!
