Only ShinomiyaDR asked me questions (by PM though), but I'll answer them anyway :3.

Shino's first question was 'What was your seed?'

Answer:

This series is actually the prequel to a story I wrote back in 2008 about a teenager called Ashi (yes, those who read the prologue of TSoJ, he's the kid who admires Tetsuya and wishes to be a hero like him). I would say more about what his story is about, but I rather not spoil it xD. I think I wrote that story on the spot (opposed to the other two stories which I wrote in that same year and month which were based on me role playing by myself (Lei's series is a prequel to this first one) and a dream respectively).

The concept of the angel weapons which I came up with for Ashi's story meanwhile was inspired by the zanpakuto of Bleach, with guardian angels taking the place of the zanpakuto spirits.

Now, as for Tetsu's story, I wanted to expand on the history of Zionia and decided to tell the events of the generation prior to Ashi's (similarly, I would later do the same with Tetsu's own story which got a prequel in the form of Gaiden of Darkness). This was the start of what would become Lot5K, but it wasn't clear what it would be about yet. Around that time I came across a manga called Tate no Yuusha which ended up influencing me a lot. One of those being the inspiration for 3 of the five weapons (those being Tetsu's, Eiichi's, and Hyosetsu's). And two others, but those are spoilers for those who haven't read TsoJ, so I'm going to hold off on telling them, but if you have read TSoJ up to Episode 10, I will gladly tell you xD.

Tbh, I actually deleted the original version (back then called Legend of the Five Knights) as it turned out to be too similar to Tate no Yuusha for my liking. Though I stupidly renamed the story a name similar to that of TnY's English name (didn't realize it until a friend pointed it out)... 'Rise of a Shield Hero' (which is why I am trying to think up a new name for the first book).

The concept of the abyss meanwhile was inspired by the Realm of Darkness from the video game series, Kingdom Hearts.

The second version, I axed in order to please a certain someone. Though in retrospect, I think it was stupid to go that far just to impress one person (especially as said person didn't like the 3rd version anyway), part of me is glad that I did go ahead and did it. I ended up creating some of my most beloved characters and got to expand on things I previously flew over. I also ended up growing from that experience. I won't let myself be as easily swayed in the future by the opinions of others. I will continue to write the story I love.

I do plan to one day make a fourth version, but that one I'll be sending to agents and publishers in the hopes to get this series published.

Uh, I hope that this answered Shino's question.

Shino's 2nd question was directed to a character of mine. Dan-sama, what was your favorite thing that ever happened?

Dan: My favorite thing... I guess it was my duel with the legendary Spirit King himself. Even though I lost, I still had a lot of fun!

Shino's third question was ever felt so attached you can't let go? (In term of books... )

Me: It sorta depends. I don't get overly attached but I do feel an affinity for certain characters in a book. When that happens, I usually start dreaming of said book after I've finished it. The same goes for really enjoyable anime.

Shino's fourth and final question was who was your first character?

Me: That sorta varies. The first character I thought of for Lot5K was of course Tetsuya. The first character I thought of for the Zionia sagas was Ashi himself. But the first work I typed focused on Serein (yeah, Lei's cousin for those who have read my Emperor of the Celestial Sun Mist series) who was also the first character I came up with. My second character was thus Astra, then Azure, Koal, and so on. For those wondering why I didn't published Serein nor Ashi's stories, it's because publishing the prequels felt like less risk as I was barely beginning publishing online. One day, if Lei's and Tetsuya's series are popular, I will share with you Serein and Ashi's stories. Hopefully in a more traditional setting opposed to WP.
