Have you guys ever noticed that the word vampire starts with the letter V? Vampires have fangs. Fangs are pointy. The letter V ends at a point and looks li-you get my point. Ha ha see what I did there? Anyways I'm getting off topic here. Here's what vampires are to "human" minds:

Ancient myth:
Burns in sunlight. Allergic to garlic and occasionally silver. A stake in the heart should kill it..Doesn't appear in mirrors or images. Super fast, super strong. Immortal. Can have babies with eachother. Sharp fangs. Hangs upside down while sleeping or sleeps in a coffin. Can turn into a bat. Drinks human blood.
Modern myth:
Sparkles in sunlight (and occasionally burns). Stake in the heart kills it. Cut into multiple chunks and burned kills it. Allergic to vervain. Super fast. Super strong. Super powers or "gifts". Immortal. Can't have babies with eachother. Sharp fangs. Doesn't hang upside down while sleeping , or sleeps in a coffin. Cannot turn into a bat. Drinks human blood (or better yet if you're a vegan you drink animal blood).
Personal truth:
Yeah, NOPE! Sparking in sunlight? (Now I may or may not have left some things out by accident, sorry, too many traits) No offense Stephanie Meyer, I give you an A for effort. The books aren't that bad and the last few movies aren't terrible but HELL no. Before you get all Twilighty on me let me explain...I am a vampire. But here's the truth:
I do NOT sparkle in the sun, and I'm not allergic either. Some like me are, but this allergy is very rare among us. Less likely to happen to us than "humans" because there's fewer of us. The idea that vampires burned in the sun was originally formed when the first known vampire had photosensitivity (the sun allergy). Then they branched a bunch of suspicions off of that. A stake in the heart can kill anyone. Being cut into multiple chunks and burned can and will kill anybody. I do appear in images and mirrors... I'll explain the speed and strength later. Don't have gifts, don't sleep in caves or coffins or upside down. I don't have wings or fangs, can have babies (but it's a bit early to think about that considering im almost 17...don't you think?) I can't turn into a bat, and as far as blood goes I do drink "human" blood. And I put human in quotation marks because there's one thing no one understands. We're human too, they just put us under a different label. I have more explaining to do don't I?
