That's what I remind myself

That's what I say when I feel one step closer

To connecting with that special someone

I feel so alive and accomplished after a conversation with her

That I've finally said the rights things or left the right comments

Yet there are probably dozens and dozens of other guys

Sliding into her DMs

Trying to grab her attention like me

But they probably aren't as serious as me

Whereas I want to be so much more

I'd love to take her out on a date

And show her that I'd be a great boyfriend

And treat her right

Yes, I'm a hardhead

But I've got a soft side, too

I've never seen such dazzling hair

And a laugh so soft

Almost like an innocent schoolgirl skipping down the hall

But I can see she has a rebellious side, too

She told me I was funny

I was so flattered

I went home and thought of it all night long

Always on my mind

And so I find myself wishing

Drifting off in the day

Thinking to myself
