Leprosy (from the Greek lepi (λέπι), meaning scales on a fish), or Hansen's disease (HD)

Paucibacillary - It is characterized by one or more hypopigmented skin macules and anaesthetic patches, where skin sensations are lost because of damaged peripheral nerves that have been attacked by the human host's immune cells.

-Tuberculoid leprosy is a skin condition characterized by solitary skin lesions that are asymmetrically distributed.

-indeterminate leprosy A transitory form of leprosy in which the immunologic status is not yet formed, and the histologic and clinical features are not yet characteristic of any of the major types of leprosy.

Multibacillary - It is associated with symmetric skin lesions, nodules, plaques, thickened dermis, and frequent involvement of the nasal mucosa resulting in nasal congestion and epistaxis (nose bleeds) but typically detectable nerve damage is late.

-Lepromatous leprosy is a skin condition consisting of pale macules.

-Borderline leprosy is a cutaneous skin condition with numerous skin lesions that are red irregularly shaped plaques.
