money is no longer a currency.
no ,, in this universe ,, time is the currency. everyone is born with a certain amount of time ,, an inbuilt clock in their arm from the moment they're born telling them how long they have until they're dead.

society is greatly divided , there is the ghetto and then there is the richlands. the ghetto is a place ridden with mass murder, time hungry sadists with a thirst for more time no matter the consequences. you can never trust anyone and must always keep your time covered ,, and eyes up and alert if you expect to stay alive for long.
you must live every moment as if it is your last.

the richlands is a place in which the young never die ,, and they never age either. in which time is placed in stocks ,, businesses and gambling - passed down through inheritance until centuries are collected within families. everyone has their own personal hired guards to protect them.
you must never do anything foolish that may put you or your time at risk, stay forever guarded, forever simple.

muse A is from the ghetto , they have seen the horrors of it. been involved even for a short time in the gang known as 'the minutes', a rough group who go around collecting time off of those close to death who still have time on their clock.
muse A was gifted a century by a man who was worth thousands upon thousands of years ,, a man who ended his own life long before it was over.
muse A is now being hunted by the timekeepers ,, as they investigate the 'suspicious death' of this man.

muse B is a socialite, from the richlands, beautiful and young. with just over a century on their clock. the offspring of a wealthy couple who appear too young to comprehend, the parents look more like siblings when standing by their children.
muse B can't help but be drawn in by the aura of muse A . something about them just seems different and they find themselves wanting to know more about this beautiful human being.

muse A can't help but notice the stunning muse B. as they stop in at a hotel that costs two months a night ,, and that's simply for a regular room.

muse A decides to attend the casino, and play poker at the highest table; they've always been a very talented poker player.
muse B is sitting directly across from them, an accompaniment of their father who greets muse A, curiously.

it is after the poker game in which Muse A wins 1,000 years that muse A and muse B are introduced. and finally have a moment to speak.
