Obermann sent Francis and Camille down to Santonnes. The town, which previously had been a republican settlement, was conquered by Bautzen and a handful of outlaws. The man itself, however, wasn't there. He'd left the fierce preacher and woodsman Alexis Sabon in charge, and he headed north with other royalist leaders, hiding somewhere in the woods, in a place the republicans couldn't exactly pinpoint. All they knew was that he was on the run.

Sabon had never really been on board with the revolution, but he hadn't initially opposed it either. He remained silent despite being a revered community leader, and when people asked his opinion on the matter, he replied:

"If God allows it to be successful, then it's his will".

But this neutrality changed when Archbishop Johannes Sicard was guillotined, and Christianity was temporally forbidden in the capital, Lievre. Since then, the freedom of cult was back, but the death of that man couldn't be erased from his mind. And so, he took to arms, and decided to stand next to the legacy of the fallen King.

He rallied up about 10.000 men, and joined forces with other surviving royalists to create the "Royal Army of the Sacred Heart" —a name that the last surviving counterrevolutionaries had adopted during the last few months—.

—I swear to god these people spread like cockroaches. It doesn't matter how many of them you kill, there's always more hiding somewhere —General Santerre complained and he, Laupin and Francis conferred inside of his tent.

—Well, this time we're bringing the deadliest of poisons along. There will be no more royalists in this land —Camille replied, feeling sadder than annoyed—. We'll get rid of them all... That will be our legacy.
