Marinette 🐞

My legs were throbbing the next morning, my body numb with exhaustion. When my alarm sounded and I realised that it was the day of Nino's Challenge on the live game show— The Challenge, which I promised to go to— I groaned irritatedly. The inarticulate sound I made reminded me of the night before and I immediately covered my mouth in shame.

I was still wearing my blindfold so I took it off and hissed at the daylight that shone through my bedroom window.

"MARINETTE!" Tikki yelled, waking me up even more, "Are you kidding me?!"

"I know," I sighed in defeat, "I did something so bad last night and I allowed Chat Noir to do what he did to me... I'm so stupid!"

I thought back to when I felt his hands rubbing the skin of my legs and when he gently kissed my neck, breasts and collar bone; the adrenaline rush of his abs that glided over my stomach as he slowly entered me... Stupid... Worth it.

I crawled out of bed and down the flight of stairs leading to the trap door. I then painfully stood up and got dressed into my clothes— Tikki had to help me for I couldn't even raise my arm high enough to fit my shirt sleeves in. I was exhausted so I stretched before leaving my home so that the pain seemed bearable.

This is why," Tikki sighed, "you don't copulate with your partner the day before you do something important."

I did not argue with Tikki on that one because she was one hundred percent right. I was just lucky that I woke up early— because a certain cat set my alarm the previous night so that I wouldn't be late for my friend's performance.

Luckily, my parents were not home yet so they didn't have to see me almost tripping down the stairs towards the door. Unluckily, the second I opened the door, my parents were standing outside— my mother had her arm outstretched towards the doorknob. Turning to me, the look of disappointment on her face said it all.

***

"Grounded?" I exclaimed incredulously, "For what?"

I was furious! I could not believe how annoying and cruel my parents were being to me. So many emotions were running through me due to the events that I had found myself in for the past few days: shame, relief, love and anger.

"Let's jog your memory, Marinette," Pappa sighed tiredly, "Monday morning, absent from P.E...."

"I was in study hall," I lied defensively.

Mamma read something from the form that my teacher had written and read aloud, "Friday evening, absent from study hall.

"I was at P.E.!"

"You're never where you're supposed to be, Marinette! The only way we can keep track of you is by keeping you here, grounded."

I looked back to the TV to see Nino playing one of his songs to try and get the Mayor to dance. I really wished that I was there with because I wanted a second chance with Adrien— he was there too.

"You get to go out today," I mumbled under my breath.

Mom heard me, however, and argued, "We're heading back to the hotel to pack our catering equipment away, Marinette."

"Along with our bags from staying there for two nights," Dad added, "Our room is a mess like you wouldn't believe, thanks to your mom."

Mom glared at him while I complained further— it wasn't fair! I was Ladybug, Paris super-heroin and my parents were refusing to allow me to leave the house.

"But I was invited..." I said, "Nino is my friend, he was counting on me."

I rushed up to my room irritatedly. My parents had just decided to come from the fancy Le Grand Paris Hotel and the second they came back home, they grounded me.

"Can you blame them?" Tikki asked when we were out of ear-shot, "How are they supposed to know that you're missing class to save the world?"

"I guess being grounded comes with the consequence of being a top secret superhero," I said, "Doesn't seem fair, though."

"It's not. But, hey, if Nino wins, you can go see him at the show! You're not grounded next week."

"Yeah, but Adrien was there today."

"I thought you'd gotten over him."

"I did," I explained, "I used to always embarrass myself in front of Adrien because I had a crush on him. But now that I am officially in a relationship with Chat Noir, I could show Adrien how truly confident I can be. He's always so friendly towards me..."

I turned on the computer to the TV show and watched Nino DJ, "Adrien is no longer my crush, Tikki. I'd just like to properly speak to him like he does towards me... He's just a friend. I'd never go behind Chat's back—"

"I know Marinette," Tikki said, "I'm sorry. I understand, but there's always school?"

"Uuugghhhh," I groaned at the mention of Death.

I turned to the computer screen where another contestant appeared in the show after Nino— a hypnotist named Simon Grimault who used his cards to control people. When he did his challenge, he was to hypnotise Gabriel Agreste— Adrien's father— in front of the audience. Gabriel refused to be controlled, however, so he left the screen. Simon was then disqualified.

He was escorted off the stage, pronouncing Nino as the winner by default. I felt so out of it since the challenge was almost already over. I sighed in a bored manner, hand on cheek. I wondered what Chat was doing now— saving lives somewhere in Paris, having fun with friends, thinking of the night before about me...?

I decided to phone Alya so that she could distract me from my dirty thoughts of Chat Noir. I told her about being grounded because my parents were teaching me to 'be on time'. But surprisingly, Alya agreed!

"Seriously?" I scoffed to the phone, "How can you say that, Alya?"

Alya apologised, "Sorry, but I kinda get your dad, Marinette. You're never where you say you'll be. Showing up late, splitting mysteriously and all. I'd almost suspect you were leading... a double life."

I widened my eyes at the accuracy: "What?! Gimme a break! You're being ridiculous."

Suddenly, the screen of the TV show turned to a the outer section of the studio where an akumatized victim appeared.

"Simon says the show is not over!" Grimault yelled, picking a card from his deck, "Simon says you're lame! As lame as a duck!"

He threw a duck card at the host Alec, who started acting like a duck. Adrien's bodyguard tried to stop him as well, but Simon said 'Stop!' He threw a card with at the bodyguard and froze him.

"You are a gorilla," Simon ordered, throwing another card at him.

I stared at the screen, flabbergasted as Adrien's bodyguard started acting like a gorilla. Nino and Adrien was in danger!

"Tikki, spots on!"

***

Théo Barbot was at the studio too, which did not surprise me. He had been getting along quite nicely with Nino and Adrien ever since he came to school. Although, I would never have thought I'd see him again as my alter ego.

"Ladybug!" Théo exclaimed excitedly as I made my way inside, "It's been so long! How've you been? Have you read my letter? Did you like it?"

He beamed at me hopefully, waiting for a reaction. But I gave none because I did not have any romantic feelings towards him. No no, I had Chat Noir, who was way more determined and respectful (and sexier) than he was. I knew that Théo wanted me to love him like he did for me but I could never reciprocate his feelings.

"The letter was miraculous, thank you," I replied with a smile, focusing my mind on the akuma, "Where did 'Simon Says' take off?"

Théo frowned at my topic digression. But could you really blame me? I had a serious job to complete and discussing lovey-dovey conversations with a guy I didn't even like, was not it. Besides, Théo needed a girl who would love him the way he deserved— completely.

I would never be able to fall in love with the Spanish-American singer because of my circumstances but somewhere in this world, there was a girl who saw beyond his Copycat side and would give him her all if the time came to it. His soulmate was still out there. I'm just lucky I had already found mine.

"My friend Nino is with Chat Noir, I think," Théo said, pointing to the direction of the TV stations, "We should get there before 'Simon Says' turns him and my other friend, Adrien, into his slaves."

***

When I saw Chat Noir at the studio for the first time after our last 'encounter', I immediately blushed. My mind flashed back to the feel of his hands and lips on my naked skin and how I yearned for him.

Seeing him joke and smirk so casually at Ladybug was almost too much for me to handle. If only he knew it was me—Marinette— who he touched like that because I wanted to know how he would act towards that side of me from now on.

"C-chat Noir," I stammered nervously.

"M'lady," he greeted back with a bow.

How was he being so flirtatious to Ladybug after what he had been through with Marinette? I know that we are the same person, but somehow a part of me felt a bit offended. What if I wasn't Ladybug? What if she was an entirely different person and he'd be going for another girl besides me?

I immediately wiped the thoughts from my mind— now was definitely not the time for being jealous of myself. We had an akuma to catch.

"'Simon Says' has got a whole army together!" Nino exclaimed.

"He's looking for Gabriel Agreste," Théo added, "We better get to him faster then they can!"

Chats ring beeped. I hated when his Miraculous did that, especially when he and I (as Marinette) were having deep conversations about stars.

"Chat Noir, y-you're about to change back," I stammered, "I'll take one l-last look around f-for Nino's friend."

"Uh..." Chat hesitated in answering as if he was suspicious of my agitation toward him, "Forget it, he's probably hypnotized."

Nino retaliated, "But he's our friend!"

Chat sighed, "You're right. Maybe he's hiding. I'll leave you to look for him. Let's meet up at Gabriel Agreste's place later on."

Chat ran out of the studio, which got my heart to beat much slower. The feelings I had for him as Marinette were so strong that I could not even control myself while talking to him when I was Ladybug.

We eventually managed to find Adrien and the strangest thing happened. The second that I spoke to— or saw— him, I did not have the same sensation of nervousness in front of him. Not an ounce of romantic feelings towards him.

"We've got to get to my house now!" Adrien said, "My father's in danger!"

"Let's go," I agreed, "Chat Noir will meet us there."

Nino, Adrien and Théo followed right behind me as we made our way out of the studio.

[Please watch Simon Says if you haven't so I don't have to repeat the exact details on what the characters do]

"I'm afraid your flight's been cancelled, Sir," Chat Noir said to Gabriel Agreste after we had made our way to the roof.

Simon Says had controlled Mr Agreste a few minutes earlier, hypnotising him into believing he was a plane which almost caused him to fall off the roof of a building! Luckily, Chat an I managed to save him just in time by catching the akuma.

"You?" Mr Agreste sneered.

"Prefer Ladybug?" Chat smirked, "Can't say I blame you."

Ugh, the flirting! Our Miraculouses beeped and I could not help but smile— after every akuma attack, Chat visited me as Marinette. I was really looking forward to that.

"Your ring!" I said to Chat, "You better get out of here."

"Like a cat on a hot tin roof," he replied, "I'll be checking to see if Nino Lahiffe and Théo Barbot are safe," he turned to Gabriel, "See you soon, Mr. Agreste..."

He then turned to me with a friendly smile— he'd usually smirk or wink, but I did not dare admit that— and said, "And you too, m'lady."

Oh don't worry, I thought, you'll see me sooner than you think.

***

I came back home just in time before my parents caught me. I detransformed immediately, aware that Chat Noir would be there any second! I went downstairs to get a plate of pastries and  other goodies; enough to feed Tikki, Chat, Plagg (I had gotten some Camembert as well) and myself.

I really hoped that the next time Chat and I saw each other wasn't going to be awkward. I needed him to feel comfortable whenever we met so that I'd know if our relationship was strong enough for it not to be unsettling each time I wanted to cuddle up next to him or sneak a kiss on his cheek. I wanted to be one of those couples who'd stick together no matter what.

I was still grounded, though. My parents were busy packing their equipment away at the Le Grand Paris Hotel so they'd probably be back in an hour or so. Chat landed on my bed from the trap door and smirked at me.

I immediately knew that we weren't going to be one of those uncertain couples after sex, which lifted my heart for two reasons: 1) we would never be awkward with each other— if anything, we'd gotten more closer; 2) my heart was beating frantically due to anticipation as to what he's planning to do to me now.

"Parents not here, I see," he said in a husky voice, "My Purrincess' been at home whole day?"

"I-I'm grounded," I stutter, mentally slapping myself for making my nervousness obvious, "I've gotten y-you and Plagg some f-f-food from downstairs since the akuma attack must've, uh, worn you out."

He noticed how anxious I was and looked immediately amused. His expression turned into a smirk of enjoyment.

"Grounded?" Chat chuckled, "Why are you starting to become such a naughty girl, Marinette?"

"Just eat your food," I mumbled, folding my arms while blushing heavily.

Chat hopped off of my bed, sliding next to me by the desk. I tried backing away from him to control my beating heart from getting any faster, but I only managed to push myself onto the edge of my desk which I held to steady myself.

"You know what, Marinette," he whispered into my ear, tickling my side, "I'm actually not that interested in bakery goodies at the moment. But I am hungry— starving, in fact..."

I stayed completely still while Chat moved his hand over my body, starting from my neck to the thighs. He lightly bit my earlobe to prove his point.

Attempting bravery, I asked him, "What are y-you hungry for?"

Chat pushed me further onto the desk, causing me to sit on its surface. He opened up my legs so that he could stand in between them. He kissed my neck— hot, wet kisses that shook my body tenderly.

"Something hotter," he said, "sexier."

I groaned, feeling his bulge rub against me. I held onto his shoulders desperately— he began taking my shirt off and kissed me along my collar bone down to my stomach. My shivering could not be controlled.

"Chat," I gasped lovingly, "Chat Noir, I need—"

He interrupted me with another kiss and I felt all forms of pleasure inside of me. I needed what exactly? Love, excitement...more? But I'd already gotten that. Chat gave me everything I ever wanted or needed in a relationship and I'll forever be grateful for having him by my side.

I really enjoy being grounded, I thought, knowing that I had the last laugh at the end.
