The following morning, I had rode off to where the cadets are at. Meeting with Jean as he looked like he had been crying. I got off my horse and ran up to him, "what happened?" He looked up at me as he held a tooth in his hand, blood surrounding it. "He died, I don't even know if this is his." I comforted him, everyone here was a new recruit. He hugged me tightly, "but it's great to see you." He gave a sad smile to me. A female walked past us, Mikasa. He eyed her and I looked away. "I came to tell you something," He tilted his head, "what's wrong?" I heard a couple horses running towards me, it was Levi and his squad. I looked at them as Levi gave his cold stare. "What's is it y/n?" I looked at Jean, "I think we should break up." He jaw dropped, "is it because of him?" He looked at Levi, who had came to stand beside me. Levi tilted his head, suggesting for us to go. I turned around with Levi, getting on my horse. My head down as I followed behind him, "you didn't mention you were leaving this morning." I shook my head, "I broke up with Jean." He smirked, not saying a word. On our way back to headquarters, I didn't speak a word to Levi. Even though I liked him, I liked Jean too. "Serious relationships are for those who don't run with the scouts anymore." Levi spoke, breaking the silence. "Says the one who's marrying Petra," His eyes widened. "How did you know?" I kept my eyes straight, "what she writes about you sure gives it off. Just know I didn't break up with Jean for you, I did it because I didn't want him to worry about me." I rode faster on my horse, Levi picking up his pace behind me.

We got back to headquarters, everyone was waiting. A letter came in from Erwin, stating we had a mission to complete in the Tross district. We were going to wall Maria to try and reclaim it as ours. Everyone got ready, getting on our horses and riding towards where we had to be.

Levi set out squadrons and split everyone up, shooting flares in the sky to let everyone know our position and state or it. After a while of running from Titans and taking them down, a female Titan came out of nowhere. Her blonde hair stayed behind her as it was short, we lured her into the forest. Petra yelled at Eren, telling him to trust us because we knew what we were doing. I was waiting for Levi's orders as he told us to take for the trees.

Once everyone positioned themselves in the trees, Zoe shot her equipment, taking the female Titan into a hold. Levi stood on top of her head, mocking her and explaining everything he was gonna do. She let out a shriek, then all of a sudden, a bunch or Titans came out of no where, eating her. Levi had us go away from her as the Titans ate her, everyone talking about how the person had to have been eaten. Levi left the group, leaving me, Petra, Gunther, Eld and Oluo. I was the youngest of the group, Oluo was a year older than me. Eld was the oldest, being 23, Gunther was 22 and Petra was 20. "So Y/n, what's with you being so close with Levi?" I gave her a look, Oluo had a smirk. "There's nothing between them going on Petra, you're just being paranoid." Eren stayed silent, listening to the bickering. "Of course you would say that Oluo, you have a crush on her!" My face went red as his did. He didn't say anything at first, just staying silent. All of a sudden, Gunther was taken out and killed. Petra told Eren to go and leave it to us. We went in, trying to kill the female Titan that had came back. Everyone was killed, except me. Eld was snapped in half by her. Petra was stomped into a tree and Oluo was slammed into a tree by her foot. She thought she killed me, I was laying beside a tree. My head bled as I went in and out of consciousness. I looked over at my dead teammates, feeling guilty. The Titan left us, going to Eren. Eren went into his Titan form, fighting her until they completely left us alone. I had enough consciousness to see Levi as he stood in front of Petra's dead body. I was able to get my body move just a little bit, making me fall back and make noise. Levi ran over to me, his hand on my head. "Hang in there Y/n, I'm gonna get you help." He picked me up, throwing me over his shoulder as he got me to his horse. He sat me in his lap, making me face him as he laid my head on his chest.

When we got to the doctors, they placed me on the cart as they began to wrap my head. Levi had managed to find my horse, walking over to the cart where I was. During this time, they were putting bodies on other carts. "How are you feeling?" He asked, stepping up to sit beside me. I moved a little, "I just have a bad headache." I sat up, the wrap on my head staying in place with how tight it was. "I'm glad you're okay," He spoke softly. I looked away, "no one else made it, did they?" He didn't answer, his silence was the only answer I needed. I got up with Levi's help, he helped me down and out of the cart as I walked around.
