I watch as the ground beneath me crumbles away
Showing the gaping maw of darkness underneath

I fall, fall, fall
The darkness swallowing me up
As it holds me in its bony arms
Lulling me to keep falling
Never to see the light again

I feel warm
And safe
As I watch the dark
And the hidden swirling patterns all the walls

The wind blows through my hair
As I keep falling
Falling to the depths below

The arms around me grow cold
The eyes that watched me hateful
As I watch in horror

As it let's go of me
And I fall faster
Faster
And faster

Doomed to hit the ground with a sickening SPLAT
I close my eyes, awaiting my demise

....

But it never comes

My eyes slowly open
The familiar feeling of arms around me
Holding me in such a sweet
And gentle embrace

It has returned
The darkness hadn't failed me
Not now...
Not ever...

(Not yet)

It told me
That I can trust it
It won't hurt me
It wouldn't even think of it

I believed it

So I stayed.
