So apparently Misty and Brock are returning in the SM anime in a couple of weeks time, and that their mains, Gyrados and Steelix are getting their megas.

Like what the actual fuck?!

I know it's been 7 years since Brock was last here (4 if you include the Japanese only episode where he met with Cilantro at the end of BW) and over a decade for Misty excluding flashbacks.

For the reason is that Ash is going back to Kanto for a school project, and that he's gonna visit his old friends, Brock the wannabe doctor, and Misty a girl who specialises on water types, without specifying that they're Gym leaders.

This however I believe also paves the way for other companions *cough cough* Gary and Serena *cough cough* to come back as well in the future, and because of the recent USUM trailer, I believe it'll be, if she does come back, Serena's old design.

The one I mean is the girl with blonde hair, and I think that'll be better accepted then the first one people had with her short hair, ain't gonna lie, as it will show her progress through Hoenn and other places she might have been to.

There's also a theory appearing on Twitter that the others from SM, Kiawe, Mallow, Lana, Lillie and Sophocles will also go to other regions and might meet the pat companions. If so, I see Sophocles going to Kalos and meeting Clemont, Kiawe to Kanto and meets Gary, Lillie to Unova and meets Cilan I guess, Iris at a push, Lana to Sinnoh and meets Dawn and finally Mallow to Hoenn and meets May and Serena, who then bring sSerena back to Alola with her, and that's how Ash meets her again.

And this describes the reception Ash would get when they find out his backstory with Serena :)
