The fox couldn't comprehend how SHE of all people couldn't possibly of been invited to her friend's Christmas party. Even though she acted like it was no big deal (and would still show up anyways) , she would silently suffer a small ache of her friends not wanting her there.

She skipped towards her dresser, glancing at herself in the mirror and doing some small poses, trying to get her attitude and spirit up. She leaned forward with her favorite lipstick in her hand and ran the lipstick over her lushes lips, turning it from a small light pink to a dark and fearsome red.

She sighed as she made her way towards the small closet; she turned the shiny doorknob. She spotted the marvelous dresses and thanked her parent's wallets for enabling her to have all this delightful stuff.

She seized a dark blue dress at first and directed her body towards the mirror. The texture and the darkness of the blue would not do as she wanted to be the angel that would stick out in the crowd. She dug and dug and dug within her wardrobe, shredding out clothes upon clothes until she came upon a silvery dress that came down to her knees and had laces upon laces. She clutched the petite, silky wool coat that went with it. Summer planted a hand on her cheek. Clearly, she had obtained the right one to stick out.

" I CANNOT wait until they see THIS Summer —! " she shouted to herself, as she twirled on the heels of her feet. She shifted back to the glass mirror and winked while saying,

" Nobody can handle THIS beast ~ " she purred as she glimpsed at her glass, high-heeled slippers. Those would be PERFECT for the Christmas dance one of her friends was possibly hosting! She seized her light blue bag that she always hung up on a small hook in her bedroom and took off, her high heels clicking against the stairs as her mother only caught a flash of color as she left.

The coldness of the breeze hit her face as Summer shivered in her dress as she fumbled for her car keys. Summer's hands were frozen to the touch as she noticed her younger sister Mavis walk out of the house they both lived. Mavis wore a seafoam green dress that exposed the back and shoulders. She wore her winter jacket and trotted towards Summer.

" hey Sum, I thought you were on a date? " Mavis confusingly asked as she saw Summer open her door and beckoned Mavis to join her.

" I got a text from my BFF letting me know that she wants to hang out at the Christmas party ~ " Summer lied to her younger sister with ease. Mavis sat down on the leather of the fancy red car and listened to her older sister.

" but — " Summer explained dramatically as she started up the car engine . " she didn't tell me whose house the gathering was being THROWN at ... It's... It's... a monstrosity ! " she milked the performance for as long as she could and gave a small smirk when Mavis's smile turned into a melancholy frown.

" I'm so sorry to hear that... " Mavis sadly said. " Moon is throwing the party! " Mavis chirped as Summer's eyes bounced back, letting out fake sniffs as they finally stopped when she heard Mavis' reassurance. What a naive child Mavis was...

Summer took off into the shade of the night, driving her fancy car as Mavis gave Summer directions as to how to get to this... 'Moon' person's house.

The mansion was small, tired, and old. It seemed cozy for an old couple to live, not for anyone to live in for fun.

Summer strolled towards the door behind Mavis and observed the white door open, revealing kids who Summer deemed as 'outcasts'. Summer wrinkled her nose as she didn't strike out her big performance and only regarded everyone in silence.

" MAVIS —! " A sillombre rushed down the stairs. She wasn't wearing a dress, but instead a yellow tux and stuck out her hand. Her hair flipping over her eyes as a large smile was on her face.

" Todd told me a lot about you; however, I want to get to know you even better, " the sillombre said.

Summer scoffed at the sillombre in the yellow tux as they changed their attention towards her.

" and you must be Summer. I've watched you in school plays! It's an HONOR for you being here with my friends and me! "

Summer felt her stomach drop as Moon began to go on and on about how her friends weren't ever invited to any superb parties and how this year, that has changed.

Summer plastered a fake smile on her face. She DIDN'T really care about Moon's problems; however, the conversation was short-lived as she was being dragged off by a nerd wearing glasses and only wearing a red vest and talking about calculus, which Summer didn't really give a fuck on.

The nerd went on and on, holding his greasy hand on her perfectly kept orange fur, a shiver sending down her fur as she jumped away from the nerd, rushing outside as her younger sister didn't bat an eyelash at her when Summer shoved past.

Summer exited the small mansion, sitting on the steps of the now ugly house, her hands on her knees as she only sighed softly, clearly regretting her actions and wondering WHY she hadn't been invited to this lame ass party.

She heard the door behind her open up as she didn't move from the middle spot of the steps, blocking whoever's way.

"Hmm," Moon responded, sitting down next to the orange fox who only gave a small scoff, not bothering to look at the other female who sat down next to her.

" oh, come ONNNN pumpkin, must be some way to get you to have a good time ~ " Moon stuck her tongue out as she only leaned back, her ugly yellow sticking out painfully the more as Summer glanced at it.

" leaving right now would make things better and I wish I could, " Summer sniffed as her dress wasn't really... Fit for the weather. Moon took off her ugly yellow tux jacket for Summer and didn't say anything.

" I'd RATHER die than be seen in that ugly thing — ! " sneered Summer as she crossed her hands, refusing to grab the jacket.

" Yeah, you'd die from your own ego before realizing I was trying to help you. " Moon stood up without the jacket, leaving it on the spot where she was just sitting, and turned a cold shoulder to Summer, leaving for the warmth of the house, leaving Summer in the dark.

...

Seconds felt like minutes.

Minutes felt like hours...

Hours felt like days...

When it had only been 10 minutes before Summer had grabbed at the yellow jacket, throwing it on and sighing, seeing the coldness of her breath.

She stood up, taking off the jacket when she entered the house and glancing around, the crowds seemingly ignoring the popular queen, pretending like she didn't exist, didn't matter after the sudden outburst she had.

She pushed her way through the sea of people, her heart beating one by one before she decided to ascend up the stairs towards her a closed door with a light illuminating underneath it.

Summer knocked softly on the door and heard " what " growled underneath sharpened teeth.

" ... " Summer stood there, her heart beating as she quietly handed the jacket to Moon, a small smile lightly showing.

" Thanks, that was a ... Kind gesture of what you did. I didn't ... Expect it... " Summer responded truthfully, the coldness and her long thoughts outside made her realize her actions and Moon only glanced down at yet small, yellow jacket and lightly took it from her.

" no need to thank me, just being a gentle lady, " Moon leaned forward, their hands tightly behind their back and they had a small, mischievous smirk on their face as they couldn't contain their laughter.

" what in the heavens is so funny !?!?!? " Summer demanded, going back to her diva attitude and crossing her arms.

" Weeeeeeeeeell ~ " Moon exited her room, allowing Summer to grasp a bit about the messy surroundings and the dark door was closed tightly.

" I find it ironic that we just made up and I gotta kiss you ~ " Moon responded as she noticed the fur on Summer's cheeks darken a bit, clearly not understanding what Moon had spoken about.

She snapped back into reality, her face squishing up into a frown as Summer snarled, " give me one good reason — ! "

Moon pointed upwards towards the ceiling; therefore, Summer's eyes followed the finger. There was a small, rounded plant attached to a small screen. Summer glanced down at the half-smiling Moon which Summer took the smile that Moon had on her face as cute as a small puppy; however, it was as charming as a shining in an aspect and leaned forward and softly rubbed her lips against Moon's, her hands creeping up Moon's neck while everyone was downstairs celebrating.
