Wow I haven't update in a while but here it is Chapter 34. So, I apologize for the really late update homework and life just got in the way. For some of you, thank you for being patient and waiting. (Not k.) I really hope you enjoy and sorry for the mistakes hope you can overlook them. But if you see any please let me know so I can correct the mistakes.

Everyone's head snapped into the direction of the unconscious man on the bed. Yoshika and Carry's eyes widen as they watched as the straight line continue and listened to the constant long beep. Even though it was impossible, Carry still hoped that the straight line would magically start going up and down again but as every second went by it didn't.

"What's happening?" Carry asked helpless. It was a stupid question and she knew it but it was the only thing that popped into her head to say.

Yoshika immediately ran over by the man's side his eyes widen in panic. He did nothing but stand there shaking while Carry began to yell frantically.

"You could help him, right?" She questioned him, "You have to help him. Help him." When she saw he wasn't doing anything her yelling became louder and her eyes became watery, "Why are you just standing there, help him. You have to help him." She screamed at the doctor, who was so in shocked and was too scared from Carry's yelling he stood there paralyzed, "Fucking do something!" Her fist pounded on the side of the bed in anger, "You're the fucking doctor do something."

At that moment, when Yoshika did nothing but watched the unconscious man Adira finally understood that Yoshika didn't know what to do. From the looks of it, he wasn't a professional. A professional would have immediately gone into action without any hesitation. They wouldn't freeze up or be scared of a screaming young girl as they worked.

You know what to do Adira's mind told her you've seen this before. You've done this before. Do something.

Adira slowly slide off the chair slowly making her way to the man on the bed catching Chad's attention. For her, everything went into slow motion. The scene brought her back to the day she got lost in the hospital her mom worked in.

It was after school and her mom didn't have time to take her all the way back to their house and drive back to work getting there on time so Lydia simply picked Adira up and took her to work with her. Lydia left her in the break room with Jack in the Box that she bought her for lunch and went back to work once she was finished with her food.

Adira eventually gets bored of just sitting there in the corner playing with her cell phone so she decided to make bracelets just to make the time go faster but she wanted to make a bunch of cancer bracelets but didn't know what colors represented which cancer. She decided to go ask Lydia for a paper that told what colors represent what cancer that she knew her mom had. After a while of taking turns and walking down hallways she got bored of walking and started running around slightly shouting that she lost her mother and can't find her mother.

It wasn't a problem to the other nurses and doctors or even the cancer patients that was there because they knew who she was; the patients knew her mother and they just simply found it funny that a fifteen year old was running around in a panic trying to find her mother. After a while, Adira got to an area where she heard yelling and screaming. Doctors and nurses ran around frantically to and from the end of the hall and a turn. One voice that stood out was her mother's screaming at everyone.

"We can't do that now!" Adira heard Lydia yelling as she got closer to the scene, "Take him off the wheelchair!" She ordered.

Adira began running dodging doctors and Nurses as she ran to where Lydia's voice was coming from. When she got to the end of the hall she made a right just to find Nurses and doctors all around doing different things. She maneuvered her way through the crowd and saw as Lydia tried her best to pull a young man not much older than Adira herself off his wheelchair but couldn't due the fact she was not strong enough. She watched as Lydia stopped a female nurse from using a defibrillator on the young man.

The young man was almost completely bald but Adira could tell he was a brunette and completely thin with no muscle at all. He looked physically weak and was so pale it seemed as if the nurses have drained him from his blood.

"We could not use that on him now!" Lydia screamed at the nurse.

"We have to restart his heart!" The young nurse yelled back.

"He's in a wheelchair." Lydia stated, "We could not use it when he's on metal we have to get him off the chair first."

But no one seemed to listen. They all tried things that they should know would kill him easily but Lydia kept them away the best she could as she still tried to get him out of his wheelchair. Adira wanted to turn around and run away since she didn't want to see someone leave earth especially someone so young and someone who was around people who were suppose to know how to save him but her feet had other plans. She shoved past people and ran next to the young man grabbing his arm, wrapping it around her shoulders and lifting him up with slight ease. Lydia saw Adira for a second before shoving the wheelchair out from under him.

Adira set him down on the carpet floor like her mom wanted to and flipped him over on to his back. Once they got him on the floor Lydia started giving Adira on what to do in order to save the man's life.

"Get the Defibrillator!" Lydia ordered more in a shouting voice than she wanted.

"Get the defibrillator." Adira whispered to anyone who would listen as she pointed to the defibrillator in the corner of the room.

"What?" Chad asked her confusion covering his word.

"Get the defibrillator." Adira ordered more confidently as the world to her came back to normal at a regular speed.

Chad jumped at her sudden confidence and order before quickly grabbing the defibrillator and rushing it to the bedside. Adira quickly turned it on let it start up for a second.

"I don't think you should be doing that!" Yoshika told her right when she places the pads on his chest shocking him.

The shock made his body jump up a bit. Carry was still panicking as she watched them.

"What are you doing?" Carry stuttered as she witness Adira shocking the man, "Is he going to be okay? What are you doing? Answer me! Will he be okay?"

After shocking the man a few more times Adira gave up with the defibrillator.

"Why are you stopping?" Carry trembled before her voice became louder, "You can't stop. You have to help him! Someone has to help him."

Adira put the pads back on the machine, "Someone get her out of here!" Adira ordered annoyed obviously covering her every word.

"Get me out of here?" She screamed angrily at Adira, "That's my brother! I could be in here. Who the hell do you think you are?"

As Carry went on yelling and ranting at Adira, Yoshika took that time to pick Carry up and leave the room as quickly as possible. Carry struggled out of his arms and Veronica ran in hearing all of the commotion. Veronica grabbed Carry by the arms and started calmly telling her to stop and to come with her. Yoshika stood in front of Carry and pushed her back and they both got her out the room. With that Adira stayed in the mindset that she was and continued ordering Chad around.

"Get on top and start doing CPR!" Adira commanded.

"Why?" He questioned, he too knowing it was stupid to ask her when she became bossy.

"We have to restart his heart and the stupid defibrillator isn't working." She stated annoyed that he asked.

Chad did as told and got on top of the man and started to do CPR on him. Adira began searching for a syringe in the cabinets. Adira looked up to see Chad about to give Carry's brother mouth to mouth but quickly stopped him.

"Don't do that." Adira quickly told him, "Focus on getting his heart beat back."

"Why?" He questioned her again continuing pushing in his chest.

"Mouth to mouth is for air. First, we get his heart started again then focus on getting him air." Adira informed him, "It would be useless now to give him air."

Chad's only response was a nod. Once Adira found a syringe, she ran over to the bed and stuck the needle in the wound that was now a bright red and swelled. Chad looked down at her to see what she was doing.

"Now what are you doing?" He question unable to control his curiosity.

"Taking out the pus that is in here, if I don't this can cause many problems and eventually kill him if it isn't treated." She stated quickly, "Apparently doctor Yoshika probably was unaware of."

Adira continued to suck the pus out of the wound, took the needle out before pushing the pus in the syringe out on to a napkin, disinfecting the needle and then sticking the needle back in to take out even more pus. She repeated the process until she knew that all the pus has been taken out and Chad continued the CPR.

Few minutes later, a beep erupted through the room and they both looked at the heart monitor to see one electrocardiogram then another one after a few long seconds.

"Keep going." Adira told him and after fifteen compresses she pinched his nose shut, opened his mouth and blew air into his mouth. That's how it was for the next few minutes, Chad pressing on the man's chest and Adira giving him air and the process continued to be repeated.

At the end of that day, fifteen year old Adira, for the very first time had felt what it was like to feel the soul reconnect with the body and the life actually being brought back into someone.

And when Carry's brother took a huge deep breath, she felt that same feeling all over again. That feeling of adrenaline running through her veins and excitement yet overwhelming of being so close to losing a life but being able to keep someone alive to live just a little bit longer. The feeling of defeating death and a sense of relief suddenly washed through her causing her to take a few shaky breathes. Her whole body began to shake as she heard the sound of beeping every few seconds.

Chad's lips formed into a huge grin and he let out a relief chuckle and let his head drop. His shoulders shook as he continued to chuckle in relief.

"You did it." Chad whispered to Adira, who was crouched down her hands gripping the bed and her head hung down, "We did it."

It took her a few more minutes just for her to get herself back together and stood up straight, "I'll disinfect his wound and clean it up." She told him.

Chad grabbed her and pulled her into him, "No, I'll do it. While I am at it let me clean yours too." He lead her to where she once was on the seat and began disinfecting her cut before wrapping it in clean gauze. He did the same to Carry's brother and when he was finished Yoshika came in.

Yoshika eyes landed on the pair getting up and ready to leave the room. Chad was looking down at Adira making sure she was okay to walk and mentally okay after saving a life. His gaze went from the couple to Carry's brother still unconscious but breathing and alive. His face went in to total disbelief; he walked up to the boy and eyed every inch of him before looking at the heart monitor. He watched the electrocardiogram go up every few seconds the sound of the beep matching it.

"You saved him." Yoshika whispered in complete disbelief, "He's alive."

He didn't know how they did it. He didn't know what they did but he was so glad that they didn't lose another person. All he did was wish he could have done that. The sound of Chad's voice booming through the room interrupted his thoughts.

"Thanks, man." Chad whispered, "We'll see you around. It was nice meeting you."

Yoshika said nothing but all he did was nod. He looked over his shoulder to watch the couple walk out the door. After that, Adira and Chad went to their rooms where they found Madison, Tyler and Jade fully asleep on the bed. The pair took the couch that was on the other side of the room and both fell into a deep sleep as soon as they hit the couch.

The next morning the group had breakfast with William since he explained it wasn't his shift. William only worked dinner times and that was it. It helped keep things organized and if anything goes wrong it wouldn't be too difficult to find who's responsible. There were not many different people going in and out of the kitchen all at once.

After breakfast William started introducing the group to everyone else and showing them the places Veronica did not. He gave them the rules and how everything worked around the hospital. Eventually, by lunch he brought them to where all the guns and other weapons were stored. It was down in the basement where some of the soldiers where simply talking each other as they were leaving and some leaning against the walls with weapons across their chest protecting and guarding the weapons. They stood a few feet away from each other.

At the end of the hall, there were two big guys standing up straight with guns, just like the others a few feet away, guarding a silver metal door that was between them. To Adira and Chad, they seemed like robots, no emotion what so ever. Once they got in front of the door, the soldier on the left nodded to William before speaking.

"Hey, William." The soldier, who had a deep dead voice, greeted William.

"What's up, Daniel?" William greeted back his soft smoky voice echoed through the hall way.

Daniel was a slightly buff man with brown eyes and brown short hair no longer than an inch. He had tan skin making Adira wonder if he was Native American. He looked cautiously at Adira and Chad before looking back at William and motioning to the two. As he did that, he stood up even straighter as if to intimidate the couple.

"Who are they?" Daniel eyed Adira and Chad, who didn't seem to be fazed by him attempt at intimidation, "You know the rules, no civilians or new comers allowed in the weapon room."

"Without surveillance or attendance with a soldier, last I checked I am a soldier." William retorted not at all impressed by Daniels attempted at telling him what to do, "It'll be fine, Daniel. Now open the door. By the way, this is Adira and Chad."

After a few seconds of hesitation, Daniel reluctantly opened the door for the three and allowed them in. They all stepped in to a not too big room, probably only be able to fit at least ten to fifteen people inside. Shelves full of weaponry ran along the side and back area, a rectangular table sat front and center with, what looked like, torn apart guns as if someone was trying to learn to pull guns apart and then put them back together, also included knives at one end. On the walls next to the doors were large boxes stacked on one another; almost the size of Adira.

On the right wall contained all different types of knives, the most common being military knives. They were mostly all black with at least six to seven inch blades. The other shelf contained all the guns: from riffles to small 9mm hand guns. The big guns: such as riffles, snipers, shotguns, etc, all were hanging or put on the back wall where more large boxes sat on the floor. The hand guns were all on the shelves and counter tops nicely place and put on display. They organized the guns to smallest to biggest and the type of ammo those guns took sat above those guns but just one box was place next to each gun.

Once everyone was in, the door was closed. Adira and Chad stood on the side of the guns while William stood opposite of them as he started playing with the pieces of the guns. Daniel leaned against the table with his hands, his back turned to the door. The other soldier just stood in front of the boxes next to the door still holding his gun while Daniel had put his down and leaned it against the table as well.

"This is the weapons room." William finally spoke as if they couldn't tell already, "This room is off limits to civilians."

"Civilians?" Adira questioned.

"Non-runners or soldiers." William clarified as he struggled to put the gun back together.

"Are you guys like military or something?" Chad asked confused on the term soldiers.

"No but we are the ones guarding this place and protecting it." Daniel answered for William; his voice sounding a lot nicer than just dead, "That's why we are called the soldiers or protectors."

"Okay." Chad whispered looking around the room at all the weapons that were surrounding them.

"Where'd you guys get all these weapons anyways?" Adira asked them curious on how anyone would be able to get their hands on so many weapons especially the military guns.

William explained that after the infected took out the school they were once before and the military that was placed there got over-run leaving behind storage full of the weapons they had brought for protection. As the military soldiers died one by one, Ciras took it upon himself to take their weapons claiming "They wouldn't be using them anymore". They went back for the weapons held up in the storage as soon as they got themselves situated in the hospital. Ciras believed that the weapons would have still been there since the school was crawling with flesh eating things and even if someone got into school, killing all of them they still would have no clue that the weapons were there unless they were looking for them.

Nobody wanted to go near a school filled with infected so when they returned to the school the weapons were still there untouched. Even the door was still in tacked and no sign of anybody or anything trying to get through the door was on it.

The clicking of the pieces of the gun, William was holding, kept booming through the room. Adira looked down at William's hand where he was picking up random pieces, trying to put them together, failing, dropping the pieces and picking up new ones only to try again and fail. Adira took the slide out of his hands and picked up the barrel to the 9mm gun and slipped it in, the muzzle fitting perfectly with the end of the slide. She started putting the gun together picking up the recoil spring plug and putting that on top of the barrel and she continued to grab pieces and put them together.

The four men stood there and watched her until the gun was fully put back together. She made sure the gun was on safety before handing it back to William, who looked over it in astonishment. He's never seen anyone put a gun back together or even pick the correct pieces like it was nothing. It takes the soldiers twice the time to even get the correct pieces and even more time just putting it back together.

William's eyes were almost out of their socket as he examined the gun carefully, "Wow." He whispered in astonishment and dragging out the "o".

Chad smiled at the brunette next to him in full proud and wrapped his arm around her waist. Chad's eyes wondered from Adira to the man just standing next to the door saying nothing.

"How'd you do that?" William asked still in surprised.

"It's not that hard." Adira replied as if everyone does it. After everyone just stared at her in silence she broke it, "My older brother Angel taught me." She admitted.

"Okay. I'm sorry." Chad spoke, "But who is that? He's creeping me out." He pointed to the guy in the back with his hand.

The man smirked as everyone turned to look at him.

"Oh sorry that's Christopher." Daniel introduced him, "He's a soldier as well. He and I guard the weapons from time to time and sometimes we are out in the front taking guard."

"Hey." Christopher greeted his ocean blue eyes glancing at the two teens.

"Hi." Chad and Adira simply said simultaneously.

"That was impressive." He commented as he pointed to the gun walking up to the table, "You know a lot about guns?" His voice was deep and raspy.

"Thanks." Adira smiled slightly at him, "I know enough to keep me and my family alive."

"I like that." A short light chuckle slipped past his lips.

"Is there any rules besides no civilians allowed down here?" Chad asked them.

"Soldiers are the only ones allowed to carry weapons but only hand guns or knives not both and no shotguns or riffles." Christopher answered him his voice becoming very dominated and serious, "The only ones allowed to carry the heavy weapons are the guards outside the hospital, near the front door and the ones that are guarding this room right here."

As long as one is out of the walls, it is recommended to have at least one weapon but inside they must return it unless they are a runner or soldier. Ciras used the weapon room for gathering or meeting with the soldiers and the soldiers only, no one else. It gave them privacy and if something happened they kept the civilians from getting out of control and freaking out.

Around the hospital everyone had a job and only that job. It helped with organization and if anyone had a mistake happen it would be easier to find out what happened and who made it happen.

After the five of them talked a little more about the weapons and the weapon room, William, Chad and Adira left the weapon room and went back up stairs leaving Christopher and Daniel to guard the room. When they got back up they realized it was dark out and time for dinner. They hadn't realized how long they took down there because it felt like they only been down there for a few minutes. William had left Chad and Adira in the lobby and went to take his place in the cafeteria for dinner.

Adira let out a sigh and looked around the lobby at everyone and the walls, "You want to go get dinner?"

Chad looked at her and nodded, "Yeah that tour got me starving. I need to exercise more." Chad joked as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders turning her in the direction the cafeteria was in.

Before they could even get to the hall that leads to the cafeteria, a loud tiny female sob rings through the lobby making everyone turn to look at Carry running into the lobby. They watched as she made her way to Adira and Chad. Carry wrapped her arms around Adira shoulders crying and thanking her.

"Oh my gods thank you!" She cried out to her, "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you so much." She repeated to cry out her grip getting even tighter.

Adira stood there in shock not knowing what to do or how to handle the situation. She just stood there frozen her hands glued to her side as her eyes stayed slightly widen at the sudden affection of gratitude. Adira wasn't one for much affection from complete strangers and was usually very awkward with people crying. She looked over at Chad for some help but all he did was shrugging his shoulders giving her the "I don't know" look.

"Thank you so much." Carry said once again before pulling away and looking at her sniffing as tears rolled down her pale cheeks, her hands placed on Adira's shoulders, "Yoshika told me what you did. I just wanted to say thank you so much for saving my brother. I really appreciate it and I owe you one." She sniffed again wiping her tears away, "I really do mean it. I can't thank you enough."

Adira lightly nervously chuckles, "Oh I think you already have."

Carry sniffs again smiling over at Adira, "Thank you." She let Adira go and looked at Chad and quickly hugged him thanking him as well, "Again, thank you so much. If you need me please let me know I so owe you one."

"That's fine." Chad told her with a smile, "We really didn't mind." He brushed her offer off.

"Well just in case." She replied before looking back, "Well I got to go. I'm going to go see if Lucas woke up already. Bye." She waved bye to them.

"Wait, Carry!" Adira stopped her before she was out of ear shot.

Carry whipped around looking directly at Adira.

"If the wound on his leg swells up and turns purple again take a syringe and drain the wound of any pus that is in there." Adira informed her, "Clean it up afterwards with disinfected and don't give him any medicine he really doesn't need it. Just drain the wound, clean it and wrap it up, Okay?"

"Thanks." Carry smiled and ran off in the direction she came in.

"That was weird." Adira commented.

Chad let out a light chuckle and continued their walk down the halls to the cafeteria, "Well she was happy you saved her brother. You should feel proud. You deserve it."

Adira shrugged it off as if it was nothing and let it go. They eventually got to the cafeteria where they were greeted by William serving food and the rest of their group: Madison, Tyler, Richie, Jade and Dan, who was already eating their food at the same table they sat at yesterday. Throughout the whole dinner, Madison was going on and on about some children they had met while wondering around the hospital with Richie. After Madison's ranting, Adira, Chad, Richie and Dan shared what they learned about the hospital and the people. Mostly Richie and Dan was learning more about the people than Chad and Adira just as much as Chad and Adira was learning more about the hospital and how they were operating the place and where everything was.

Eventually, William joins the group in conversation sharing stories and joking around with the group. As soon as William got to know the group he started feeling more comfortable with them just like the group was opening up to him. Even though everyone seemed to get along and William seemed to be a nice guy, Adira was still a little suspicious about him but couldn't find anything wrong or shady about him.

It didn't take long for the laughter and the chatter to come to an end. Ella ran into the cafeteria out of breath swinging the doors open causing the whole cafeteria to turn around and just stare at her.

"They're back!" She informed them, "They're back! They came back!" She shouted.

Everyone started whispering among themselves. William immediately stood up and the soldiers, along with some others including the rest of Williams table. Everyone who actually cared or was curious on what was going on bolted out the cafeteria door and made their way to the lobby. Adira and her group walked into the lobby to see almost everyone meeting in the lobby. They maneuvered their way past people that stood around the door and saw seven new people they've never seen before greeting the other soldiers and handing bags over to Ciras and William.

Adira heart stopped when she sees a short girl with slightly brown skin and her brunette with blonde streaks hair up in a high ponytail come out from behind a few of the men that was greeted each other. The petite 5'1" girl took off an Ak 47 rifle from her back, a purple handle switch blade and a Marine Force Recon Sawback Bowie military knife.

"Take these in, will ya?" She ordered a soldier, who was greeting her; her voice was soft yet a loud.

The petite girl let out a breath, taking out her small ponytail and let her hair fall just above her shoulders. She ran her hand through her hair tossing it to the side as she turned around taking a look at the people around them.

Her eyes scan the crowd but soon she does a double take as soon as her eyes hover over Adira and her group. Almost immediately her hand goes up to her mouth as she takes in a breath making an "O" sound.

"Adira." She whispered to herself not believing it really was Adira but when Adira let out a light laugh she knew she was real.

"Eva." Adira whispered to herself as she too didn't believe that the girl standing a few feet away was her best friend.

"Adira?" Eva repeated a little louder her voice slightly still confused but nonetheless Adira still smiled causing her to smile to widen, "Adira!" She yelled full confidence in her voice.

"Eva!" Adira laughed.

The two girls ran up to each other, automatically connecting once they meet half way. Adira's arms wrapped around Eva's shoulders as Eva's arms wrapped around Adira's waist. Adira stood over Eva, her head being able to sit on top of Eva's head due to Adira being four inches taller. Fits of laughter erupted out of the two girls and the crowd around them stood by watching in awe.

Adira pulled away from Eva, who constantly repeated the words 'I thought I'd never see you again'. When they looked at each other face to face again, they continued to laugh for no reason. Eventually, one of the soldiers that were with Eva came up to the two laughing girls and greeted them.

"Eva, you know them?" He asked surprised.

"No. Ethan." Eva answered dragging out the 'O', "We just said each other's name and hugged just for the heck of it." She said sarcastic all over the words she spoke.

Adira pulled in her lips between her teeth, her shoulders shaking from her trying to hold in a giggle. She rolled her eyes at her best friends answer to the soldier. Ethan blushed from embarrassment as he knew it was a stupid question that should not have been asked but asked it anyways.

"Ethan, this is my best friend Adira." Eva introduced, "Adira, this is Ethan."

"Hi." They both said shyly giving a small smile.

"So why is it such a big deal you two are back?" Adira asked curious on what all the fuss is about when they came back.

"We were sent off to look for stuff that could be useful to us to survive." Ethan answered.

"We ended up in a sticky situation on a run and couldn't make it back last night so it kind of worried Ciras." Eva finished for him.

"You guys are runners." Adira stated.

"So I see you already learned a bit around here." Ethan commented.

They continued to talk about almost everything about the hospital that either what they know already from Adira and Chad or what they should also know from Eva and Ethan. From time to time the two girls would get off topic and talk about other things either how they ended up with the group they have now in the first place or their lives before everything happened. They were unaware that Ciras and William was observing them and listening to their conversation. Too into the conversation and each other, they didn't focus on anyone else but each other.

Eventually, Richie, Dan, Chad, and the three kids came up to the group. Adira introduced them all except Chad, who already knew who Eva was and didn't need and introduction. Evan and Chad said hi to each other before Chad stepped away allowing the two girls to talk and the rest of the group to know each other. William watched Adira seeing that as soon as she saw Eva and started talking all her walls fell and she was comfortable around her. It was weird seeing her go from being suspicious of everything to her wall just completely dropping as if she was a different person.

It wasn't long before Ciras and William came walking up to the small chatty group. Even when they were just right behind the group they still didn't notice they had joined them. The two men stood there waiting for them to notice them but they didn't and it wasn't until Ciras cleared his throat loudly that all their heads turn to the men.

"I didn't know you two knew each other." William commented with a smile, "It's good to see people reconnect. Also, good you have a friend here too besides me of course."

Adira and Eva smile, "Hi, William."

"Hi, girls." William waved, "Welcome back, Eva."

"Thanks."

Ciras cleared his throat once more before speaking, "I'm surprised you guys aren't surprised that your friend survived." He observed.

He was right none of them asked each other how they survived or said that they were alive. They were only surprised they have found each other and ended up in the same place. William didn't question it. William didn't need to question their abilities because Eva was a runner and was good at what she learned to do and Adira even though he hasn't seen her in battle against those monsters he already guessed she was good possibly even better. All he saw was her put back a gun in less than five minutes and that already told him she must have some knowledge or training in guns and weapons. He knew no one knows how to put back a gun without knowing how to shoot it or without ever using it.

The fact that she survived with three kids was enough to tell him she had some sort of skills. She wasn't just doing random things to survive she actually knew how to survive.

"I don't doubt whether or not if she's capable of surviving." Eva admitted about Adira

"Plus she's a complete badass so." Adira shrugged putting her arm around her short best friend and smiled complete honesty in her voice about Eva.

The rest of the group chuckled at Adira's response except for Ciras. He didn't laugh or show any other emotion besides seriousness. His arms stood folded as he stood up straight his legs slightly separated from each other.

"Eva, why don't you and the rest of the runners go get cleaned up and you could go get some food." Ciras said more as an order than a suggestion, "I'll get the others to take separate and place everything where they belong."

"Alright." Eva nodded, "Well..." She turned to Adira, "I'll see you later, kay? We have to catch up."

"Kay." Adira whispered as they hugged.

"Glad to see you again." Eva whispered as she pulled away.

"You too." Adira admitted, "Now go get cleaned up and get some food."

With that Ethan told the other returned runners what Ciras said, Eva waved to Ethan to follow her and they left head towards the stairs. After that everyone went back to doing what they were previous doing before the runners came back. William continued to talk to Adira and Chad asking them about Eva and how long they were friends etc.

Eventually William left to talk Ciras while other soldiers were putting away the item the runners had found and managed to bring back. Adira and the rest of the group decided it was time for bed and headed upstairs to their rooms. They entered their rooms talking about Eva and Ethan on what they thought about them and Adira telling them stories of memories they had together.

Everyone in that group could tell Adira was happy to know someone in the hospital that she trusted outside of Chad, Tyler, Madison, Jade, Richie and Dan. It was the same on the other side of the hospital with Eva talking about Adira and everything they did together especially the funny memories she remembers. Dan and Richie separated from the group telling them goodnight before walking into their room. The rest of them started making an actual bed on the couch while sat and watch Adira fix the patient bed for the kids to sleep on. Occasionally, Adira or Chad would throw a pillow at one of the kids because they were being lazy and would sometimes say something smart that they just had to throw it.

It didn't take long for the good night that they were going to end it with took a turn for the worst.
