It was just some other typical day

When a rumor bounded to my way

No one here is able to hush

That I am someone's little crush

We never really talk, and I don't know why

How he would like a person like I

The thought made me laugh

That he's into me, on my behalf

So I ignored their silly talk

Too bad they like to stalk

Everywhere I look, the whispers grew

The talks didn't stop, they all knew

People teased the both of us

Doing nothing but make a fuss

It made me annoyed, sick of the tease

That people made fun of us with ease

I got tired of the talks that won't stop

One more time, and I will pop

It's only a crush, one sided that's all

We talked only once, right in the hall

But enough is enough, I'll do the bailout

I'm give them something to talk about

People parted as I walked pass by

Being sure not to even look me in the eye

I finally found this so called crush

I'll give them something to blush

I took him by the collar, right then and there

And everyone one saw, but I didn't care

Who cares what they think, feel, or saw

It's not like this is against the law

I kissed him just like that, for a minute or two

As people watched, nothing better to do

I finally let go, leaving him wanting for more

Too bad that the kiss was a bit of a bore

People didn't stop talking, they never will

It's something to do, for time to kill

I'm a player of this school, easy to admit

And I'll never fall in love, not for a bit

It was a one time thing, that's sad to say

It's not like my heart will actually stay

He was only another of countless of guys

Who fell for me, their eyes on the prize

So don't you dare cry

Just because my lips don't lie

At the right is the song Everybody Talks by Neon Trees. It's a good song, inspired the poem. The title was inspired by the title of the song Hips Don't Lie by Shakira.
