Laura's house was right next to the vast ocean, the 10-year-old girl loved the sea with all of her heart but her parents forbid her from playing in the sea water. All they ever let her do was watch all the documentary footages and read those interesting books about marine life and magnificent creatures under the surface of the beautiful ocean. She already remembered all of the images in the books which feature these astonishing life forms and she found that jellyfish was her most favorite one of them. She adored the odd movements of it, even though she never saw a real jellyfish but she kept imagine what it looks like in the water. 

- Laura.

- Yes, mommy. I am here.

- Have not I told you to stay inside and far away from the seashore?

- I am sorry mother but why I can not go there?

 Her mother never replied to that question.

 Laura obeyed her and went upstairs to call her beloved father, who spent most of his time on the bed because of some infections from his previous work.

 One day, a  miniature thing washed ashore and Laura caught a glimpse of it. She snuck out of her home then she ran to the spot of which she saw the unusual shiny object. Gently put the object into a bucket full of seawater, Laura dashed back to her house and she could not wait to show her dear mother this gorgeous jellyfish. The shiny and gleaming outside of the lovely "creature" made Laura happy than she ever was but why mother's face was not right? 

Laura tipped her head on one side and asked:

- Mommy, this is a jellyfish, right?

- Honey . . .

The mother started crying and hugging her sweet little daughter, she could not help it cause everything was all wrong. The thing Laura brought back was a lump of plastic bags tied together and the spilled oil made it shiny under the bright sun. The hands of Laura were blackened with oil and wastes under the surface of the sea but she did not even care about it. The beautiful world Laura's mother lived 20 years ago now had long gone, the oil spill, the plastics, the pollutions caused by humanity had slowly killed the earth and the ocean. Her small daughter - Laura, who meant the world to her, would not have a chance to admire the astonishing nature of the mother Earth anymore. Even her husband, who used to work as a marine biologist, had also suffered from the toxic wastes while working underwater and had been on his deathbed due to cancer when Laura was born. Laura's father was afraid that his daughter would have to suffer from the same illness as him so he forbid her from going anywhere near the ocean. If only he had known better, he would have protected the sea sooner and saved the earth for his lovely daughter.
