Alice takes out a new game console with a flourish, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "Now that we're done with Generation 5," she announces, her voice brimming with anticipation, "it's time for the 3DS era. Starting from Generation 6, the games are now in stunning 3D."

Golly chimes in enthusiastically, nodding in agreement. "She's right," he says, gesturing towards the console. "For Generation 6, these four games are the ones that really stand out."

I lean forward, noticing the vibrant box covers displayed on the screen. The legendary figures of Xerneas, Yveltal, Primal Groudon, and Primal Kyogre catch my eye. "So Hoenn's remake has come in Generation 6 instead of 5," I remark, the realization dawning on me. "And for Xerneas and Yveltal, we're finally entering the world of Kalos, right?"

Alice's smile broadens, a hint of nostalgia in her expression. "Yeah," she confirms, her voice softening. "The same Kalos that we traveled together in that world."

"Now that Alice has become one with Serena, the female character in the X and Y games, I think we can talk a lot about this Generation," Golly says, his eyes twinkling with enthusiasm. He smiles warmly. "The male character is a boy called Calem, who wears the same outfit as you. This game is the first to introduce player customization, meaning you get to wear anything you want once you buy the outfit, style your hair, and even use eye contacts."

I nod, recalling the excitement of personalizing my character for the first time. "The customization really adds a personal touch to the game," I remark, feeling a sense of nostalgia. "It makes you feel more connected to the journey."

"Yeah, though sometimes the apparel shops are quite expensive..." Alice sighs, a hint of frustration in her voice. "But anyway, let's start with the new Pokémon."

Golly leans forward, a thoughtful expression on his face. "For the new Pokémon, this generation has the fewest additions," he explains, "because we are introduced to a groundbreaking new mechanic known as Mega Evolution."

"Mega Evolution is quite awesome," Alice chimes in, her excitement palpable. "We encountered a lot of Mega Evolutions during our travels. However," she pauses for emphasis, "not all Mega Evolutions were added in the Kalos games; some were introduced later in the Hoenn remakes, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire."

I furrow my brow, intrigued by this revelation. "Really? Why is that?" I ask, eager to understand the reasoning behind this decision.

Alice nods, her expression thoughtful. "The developers wanted to keep the experience fresh and exciting," she explains. "By spreading out the introduction of Mega Evolutions, they ensured that players would have new surprises to look forward to in each game."

Golly points out, "So first, about the Version Exclusives, the obvious ones are probably the Spritzee and Swirlix line, and the Clauncher and Skrelp line. Though sometimes it is quite annoying that even Mega Stones are version exclusives."

"Let me guess, Charizard and Mewtwo? Considering their mega stones have X and Y in their names?" I ask, trying to piece together the logic behind the exclusives.

"Exactly," Golly nods, a hint of admiration in his eyes for my deduction. "Tyranitar and Aggron are also version exclusives, while Houndoom and Manectric are as well."

Alice smiles, reminiscing. "Funny that Officer Jenny uses a lot of Manectric back in our world," she says, her tone filled with nostalgia. "It's almost like a little nod to the games."

I nod and ask, "So about the game story, is it similar to our journey together?"

Alice sighs, a wistful look crossing her face. "It's slightly different, but the gyms, Elite Four, and even Diantha are still the same. In the game, Calem is my rival since I am obviously Serena. There's also Shauna, Tierno, and Trevor. Trevor helps Professor Sycamore by bringing us the Starter Pokémon and the Pokédex. Shauna and Calem also pick their Starter Pokémon alongside me."

"That is surprising," I comment, marveling at the parallels. "I mean, you always had a great rivalry with Shauna, but to think in the game it starts this early..."

"Yeah," Alice nods, "and after beating Viola, you can go to Lumiose City. However, we can only explore the south part of Lumiose City because of a huge blackout. Both Clemont and Bonnie are trying to fix it and won't be available until we beat Ramos."

Golly adds, "Considering that Clemont and Bonnie were your travel companions, right?"

"Of course," I reply, a nostalgic smile spreading across my face. "Though in my case, it was because of Clembot and Clemont's will to battle those with over four badges," I sigh, recalling the day when Clemont had to defeat his robot to regain control of the gym.

"Good thing that Professor Sycamore's lab is on South Boulevard, so we get to meet him early on," Alice smiles. "He even gives you a second set of Starters, the Kanto Starters."

"So you get to choose Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle again, though they come with Mega Stones attached because of it?" I ask, intrigued by the mechanics.

"We have the Mega Stones, but we don't have the Key Stones," Alice explains, a knowing smile on her lips. "That's why after beating Grant, the next gym leader, Korrina and her grandfather are key to getting your Key Stones."

Alice smiles, her excitement palpable. "However, just as you're about to leave the lab, you meet Lysandre..."

"The boss of Team Flare..." I shudder slightly, memories flooding back of how he tried to control me for my Greninja and almost destroyed the world.

"Yeah," Golly confirms, her tone more serious. "He shows up as an acquaintance of Professor Sycamore and even gives you the Holo Caster. Team Flare's first appearance is in Glittering Cave, where you were trying to find the Fossil Research guy."

Alice continues, "After defeating Korrina, you'll get the Key Stone from her, along with a Lucario holding its Mega Stone. That's how you begin your journey as a Mega Evolution user."

"I see... My first Mega Evolution was also Lucario," I nod, a sense of nostalgia washing over me. "What a coincidence."

"Anyway, after Ramos, the gym leaders' teams start to differ," Alice explains. "And the places where Team Rocket caused trouble, like the Power Plant, the Poké Ball Factory, and the Abomasnow Cave, are now overrun by Team Flare."

"Really? So they took over these places?" I ask, astonished at the scope of Team Flare's interference.

"Yeah, but we'll beat them with no problem," Golly says confidently. "And after defeating Clemont, Valerie, and then Olympia, you'll get a message from Lysandre about Team Flare's plan to destroy the world. That's when you have to return to Lumiose City to infiltrate Lysandre Labs, stop Lysandre, and uncover his plans for the Ultimate Weapon."

"Ultimate Weapon? It's different from the one we faced, right?" I ask, a hint of worry in my voice.

Alice shakes her head. "The Ultimate Weapon is in Geosenge Town, and it was made because of the Great Kalos War. Depending on the game, Lysandre wants to use Xerneas to bring eternal life or Yveltal to destroy life. You'll need to go there to capture one of them, depending on your game version, and face Lysandre for the final time. After that, Team Flare is disbanded."

"So, the events after the league were finished before Wulfric's gym?" I ask, trying to piece together the timeline.

"Right," Alice confirms. "And after defeating Wulfric, you can challenge the Elite Four with no problem. As usual, Malva, Wikstrom, Drasna, and Siebold don't have a specific order, so you can choose who to fight first and who to save for last."

"Though the annoying part is that only Diantha uses Mega Evolution; none of the gym leaders or Elite Four use them," Golly sighs, shaking his head.

"Yeah, it feels like a missed opportunity," I comment. "Mega Evolution could have made those battles even more exciting."

"Yeah, and there is even a postgame involving Looker and his new assistant, where you learn more about Xeronic, the one who tried to control Clemont," Alice adds, her voice filled with intrigue.

"So Looker is also in the game... funny that I never saw him after my Unova journey..." I sigh, feeling a pang of nostalgia. "But what about Zygarde? You do remember Squishy, right?"

Alice sighs, a hint of disappointment in her voice. "Zygarde didn't have a huge role in the game other than filling the Pokédex. You can encounter him in Terminus Cave. Diancie, Hoopa, and Volcanion are also given through events. Other than those, the Legendary Pokémon you can find are the Kanto Legendary Pokémon. Depending on the Starter, the roaming Pokémon will either be Articuno, Zapdos, or Moltres. Since I chose Fennekin, Zapdos is my encounter, and Mewtwo can be found in the same cave where you stayed after we had that fight in the Pokémon Village."

"Oh... about that fight," I frown, the memory still fresh and painful. "I'm really sorry about that... I was just not myself after losing to Wulfric like that."

Alice's expression softens, and she places a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "I know," she says gently. "It was a tough time for both of us. But we got through it, and look where we are now."

Golly remarks, "Now that we're done with that, let's move on to Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. The plot is similar to Ruby and Sapphire, but with some new additions like Mega Evolution. Steven Stone, Wally, and even Team Magma and Team Aqua leaders, Maxie and Archie, can use Mega Evolution this time."

"For real?" I exclaim in shock. "I mean, this is not good if they are able to use Mega Evolution..."

Alice sighs, nodding in agreement. "I know, it adds a whole new level of challenge. You get Mega Evolution after the fifth gym, where you meet Steven Stone and go to Southern Islands with him to stop Team Magma or Aqua from capturing Latias and Latios. Surprisingly, your first Mega Evolution in the game is Latias or Latios."

"That sounds interesting," I respond, feeling a mix of excitement and trepidation. "I mean, Latias and Latios are Legendary Pokémon after all."

"They not only bring back the Contests, they also upgrade the Secret Bases," Alice continues with a smile. "The biggest improvement in the cities is Mauville City. Wattson and Clemont worked together to develop a massive building that houses the entire city."

"That sounds cool," I nod, picturing the impressive development.

"And there's also the Delta Episode, a post-game event related to Mega Rayquaza," Alice explains. "A meteorite is about to crash on Earth, threatening to destroy the entire planet. The Devon Corps are trying to stop it, but there's another person named Zinnia who believes that the Devon Corps are not solving the problem but actually making it worse. She wants to stop the meteorite by using Mega Rayquaza. In the end, it's us who ride Rayquaza into space to destroy the meteorite and defeat Deoxys."

"That sure is an interesting post-game event," I remark, nodding in appreciation of the storyline's depth.

"And they even bring Gen 2 to Gen 5 Legendaries back into the game as well," Alice adds, "though the way to encounter them is through Hoopa Rings scattered around the Hoenn Region."

"Hoopa Rings sure bring a lot of trouble, don't they?" I sigh, thinking of the challenges they pose.

"Yeah, but that's basically Generation 6," Golly remarks, his tone reflecting a mix of nostalgia and excitement. "Having Mega Evolutions in the game is a fun concept, and I think Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are the best remakes."

Alice chimes in, "Not only that, but because of the 20th anniversary of Pokémon, your father's company also distributed all kinds of Mythical Pokémon, making it possible to complete the National Dex without any problems."

"That is awesome," I nod, feeling genuinely impressed. "I mean, it makes it much easier for new trainers to finish the game."

I'll end the chapter right here, and this is the Generation 6 part, Alice has Serena's soul merge with her, so that she knows a lot about this generation considering she has gone to Kalos and Hoenn. I hope you like this chapter and the next one is the Generation 7, which is the Alola part.
