Today, I woke up early in the morning. Earlier than the sun. Why? Because I am going home. After spending 1 month here, I grew tired of this place. The people with whom I can hangout are Jieun, Hwayoung and Mrs. Younji. A lot has happened in the span of one month.

The person whom I most anticipated and thought who would help me build a good relation with Prince Jimin as a companion; Seohyun came. She shattered my hope. After her arrival, Prince doesn't even care to glance at me. Through all means, Seohyun tries to avoid me having a talk with him.

Hwayoung thinks I am in love with Prince Jimin. But I am not. I am only trying to fulfil my duty that I have been assigned to.

On other hand Seohyun just does the regular things with Prince such as accompanying me outside his chamber, having walks through the garden, have random talks and God knows what all.

She always try to keep me busy saying that I have to arrange her closet, bring dinner for the Prince and her, to clean the Prince's chamber, look after her pet cat and the list goes on.

Only at midnights; when all are asleep including Seohyun, I creep into the prince's chamber and have a look of him to check how he is doing. When Seohyun first arrived I paused to give midnight checks at him.

But just after one week, my mind was asking me to take a glance at him. When I saw him, my gaze fell on his lips; the area where I always applied the balm. They were dry. I literally cursed Seohyun in my mind for not taking care of him.

Since then, I began my night errands. No one knows other than Jieun and I.

Another thing that I noticed in Prince is that he is very much happy and cool when he's with her. He treats her well, thinking she is the one who is doing all for him. Though all of it is done by me. I feel bad seeing it, I have been taking care of him too still he never cares for me. Other than that one time when Prince Taehyung was with me.

Right now I stood in front of the Queens chamber seek permission. Miseo; lady in charge of maids, came out. "She has given you the permission for two weeks." She replied as she began to walk. My lower jaw fell to the ground (if possible 🤣) hearing the news. I ran to her, "Well, it was said for 1 day. Why did Queen give two weeks?"

Miseo stopped her tracks, " As Seohyun is here, she will take care of him." Anger boiled in me just by thought of her taking care of him. I quickly bowed to her, ran to my chamber. I had already packed my things in a bundle.

As soon as I step my feet out of the chamber, I was met with Prince. I bowed to him with the cloth bundle in my hand. "Where are you going?" "I am leaving to my hometown, your highness." I replied to get hum from him. "Don't return. This place isn't for people like you. okay?" He ordered.

Without any hesitation I ran from there. Tears dwelled in my eyes as I ran past the maids and guards. Coming out of the palace, I ran to the palace garden.

How can he say like that to me when I took care of him one month? Why does he hate me so much? Why? I always admired him since my childhood and thought of becoming a companion to him. I was wrong. He is so full of himself.

He is right. I don't belong to a place like this. I should resign. But I can't I promised the King and Aunt Minseo that I would take care of him.

"Y/N?" A voice snapped me out of thoughts. I looked up to see King's General.

"Jin oppa." I hugged his waist and cried. He caressed my hair. "It's alright. Now stop crying." I shook my head deep in his chest. He chuckled, "Pabo, if you keep on crying I won't know the reason why you are crying." He pulled me out of his embrace. I sniffle as he cups my face and his thumbs reaches to erase my tears.

His face reaches mine, "Now would you mind to tell me the reason for the cries?" I nodded. I told him everything. He side hugged me, "My dear Y/N doesn't have to cry for what the Prince has said. Forget that and be happy. You are going to meet your family. Alright?" He said. I nodded. Suddenly I heard my name shouted, "Y/N!" We looked to that direction and saw a fumming Seohyun.

She walked to us, "How dare you?!" She shouted and raised her arm to slap me. I did my reflex but I didn't sense any pain. I opened my eyes to see Jin oppa holding her wrist and glaring at her. "Leave my hand." She yelled. He jerked her hand.

"Dare you raise your arm on her again. You will face my dark side." He threatened her. She gave me glare before she walked off. At reaching a certain distance she stopped, "A maid and a general cannot be in a relation. I will inform this to the Queen mother." She said.

Jin oppa threatened her by taking a step as if he was about to run. She saw it and ran away. I giggled at her sudden fear. Oppa looked at me, "Hmm. At least now I saw your smile." I smiled.

"Come on, you have to go before she makes ways to cancel your home trip." He smiled and kissed my forehead. I nodded, "Take care oppa. Also do say to King that I won't be here for two weeks." I told him.

"Yes My queen." I giggled and walked away with cloth bag. I took one glance of him and waved him. He waved back with a big smile.

While all this was happening, a person from far was watching it all; Prince Jimin. When those last words that came out of lips, he regretted it for making her cry. But he didn't want her to suffer the same that his friend; Yubin had suffered. He was scared. Scared for losing you too. You were kind and gentle just like her.

Without you knowing he used to check on you at nights too, to see if you are alright. He liked your company, but he wanted to stay rude with you so that you would leave this place and return home safe.

And now was the right opportunity for him. He viewed you through his window as you cried in the garden. But then when General Jin arrived and the way he was treating was different with you, he felt jealous and anger.

He laid on his bad, recollecting the things that happened. "Hope that you would be safe at home.

Meanwhile in Queen's chamber, she was violated by Y/N's behaviour. She heard a lot of reports from her maids about the King and Y/N, spending a lot of time together. She got afraid that the love for her in the king's heart has changed to Y/N.

It all started after one week of Y/N's arrival. When Y/N went to ask permission for the leave, the Queen wanted to do something that they do stop seeing each other. "Tell her that she can be off for two weeks." She ordered Miseo. "Yes, your highness." And that's how Y/N got leave days.

General Jin had conveyed Y/N's message to the King. King Sungjin was happy for her that she would now be able to meet family whom she missed so much.

Y/N went to her hometown with her father. But as soon as she left the palace area, Prince Jimin began to feel weak. He was returning to his old condition. He called out Seohyun, who came running in. She saw how the Prince was weak and couldn't move an inch.

She ran back to call the royal physician. He checked up on him and said that his illness has struck him again making him vulnerable. Seohyun informed the Queen what had happened to Prince.

All of the royal members gathered around him as if he laid on his death bed. The whole day Queen mother, Seohyun and the Physician stayed with the Prince.

At night, when the Queen arrived at her chamber she found her husband reading a book. She laid on the bed and looked up to face his sitting posture, "My Lord you hadn't visit Prince Jimin." He nodded to her. "He has fallen sick again." He nodded. "Shouldn't you check him once?" She asked. His response was the same. "My Lord, he wants to see you." The King only nodded. The Queen was annoyed and she turned back.

The King closed his book and sigh. "It's a good story book." He heaved. She didnt reply to him. He blew the candles of the candle stand which was placed on the table next to their bed.

He slipped under the covers, "By the way, where is that new maid who was given in charge to take care of Prince?" He asked. Queen began to vex after hearing him how he didn't refer your name but claiming you as the new maid.

"She has been sent for the vacation." She replied. "Oh, So she will be returning by tomorrow. Right?" He asked. "I don't know my Lord." She said.

"What do you mean by you don't know? You are the who gives leave days for the maid." He spoke. The King understood that she was hidding something. "Yes, My Lord. She is removed from the job."

"Why?"

"Because........ I heard a lot of complaints from other maids that she doesn't do her jobs well. Though she is there, she doesn't help Seohyun and remains absent at emergencies. So I was forced to remove her, My Lord. A new maid will be replaced for her." She replied.

"How do you know that she doesn't do work?"

"I heard it from Seohyun and she also said that Prince Jimin finds it uncomfortable when she is around him. Also...."

"Also what?"

"Also I have heard that she visits your chamber during my absence."

The King couldn't take in anymore. He felt disgusted about these maids on how they didn't like you and made rumours. He got up from the bed and lit a candle. The Queen sat up to see, "My Lord where are you going?" She asked concerned.

"To my chamber." He declared with anger specified in those words and he walked out the chamber. The Queen regretted on what she had done. But she knew she would make everything alright tomorrow morning and slept.

Meanwhile the King went to check on Prince Jimin. He slide the door to see Seohyun pouring water. She bowed. He waved his hands and she emptied the room.

He sat next to Prince, "Water." He heard his son begging for water with his eyes closed. The King hated to see such a site of his son, he took the cup and slowly poured it between the Prince's lips.

Once it was done he caressed his son's head. "Son? Can you hear me?" He asked. Prince nodded slightly but it could be seen that he was wincing.

"Why did you ask to replace Y/N?" He asked. He wanted to make it sure that what he heard was a false reason to remove Y/N. Prince Jimin opened his mouth, "........... Because..... I don-t............. wa-nt ........ her ...... to-o ....... su-ffer........ the.......same .......th-at....... Yubin.......... ha-d. She........... i-s good......... bu-t her su-rround-ing........... is ba-ad." He said as he winced and gasped due to the pain.

The King could neither be happy nor be sad at same time. He pecked his son's forehead and, "Have sleep son. Good night." He said and walked out. Seohyun stood close to the door and when she saw him, she bowed and he left to his chamber.

"My son is considerate just like his mother." He sat on the desk and took out the a paper from one of he books stacked on his desk. "I am sorry........ But as a Just King I had to take this decision for our Kingdom.......... Seeing our son suffer makes me regret for that Just decision." He said as his finger tips graced over the painting of his one and only beloved wife; Misuk.

A tear ran down his eye and he wiped it. "The girl who could cure it for a while was Y/N. But now she is removed. I don't know what to do." He silently cried on his desk. After few moments later he hid the painting and laid on the bed.

"Don't worry My Lord. She will return soon. Just how your General had conveyed her message. She will return." Misuk said and vanished.

"Misuk!" He woke up startled. He buried his face in his hands. "She is right. Y/N will return. After all her duty isn't fulfilled. If not then I will bring her back for my son. No matter whoever is against it."
