Once upon a time...

...in the kingdom of Corona lived a beautiful woman and her handsome son, Hugo. Hugo was very happy with everything he was surrounded with. He was especially thankful for his ice-dancing talent.

Hugo was the very best ice-dancer in all of Corona, and everyone loved to see him ice-dance. Nobody loved ice-dancing more than Hugo. Hugo's mother was very proud of him, and it made her happy to see her son happy.

One day, when Hugo was 10, his mother got married to a man named Sir Addams, and he had two sons just Hugo's age. Hugo's new stepbrothers were named Roderick and Vincent. Hugo thought it was great to have stepbrothers. Roderick and Vincent were handsome although Hugo was much more attractive.

Roderick and Vincent were the worst ice-dancers Hugo had ever seen, but he never complained about it. Roderick and Vincent wished they were as good as their stepbrother.

When Hugo was 14, his mother left for a trip, and that was when his stepfamily revealed their true nature—they were cold, bitter, nasty, and jealous of Hugo's charm, beauty, and amazing ice-dancing talent.

To keep Hugo from getting more handsome than his own sons, Sir Addams put his stepson in simpler clothes and forced him to become a servant in his own home. Sir Addams didn't like Hugo stealing the spotlight from his own sons, so he forbade his stepson to ice-dance ever again.

Hugo's mother had been gone for an awfully long time, and then he and his stepfamily heard the bad news: his mother had died on the way home. Hugo had never been so sad, and now he was left alone with his evil stepfamily.

Throughout the years, Hugo grew more beautiful and handsome, and his jealous stepbrothers grew meaner and more selfish. Hugo never complained, but he wished his life was so much better. He wished he could find someone he loved and get married, so he could escape his stepfamily forever.
