At the palace, Princess Sophina had met a lot of handsome men, but she never fell in love with any of them. She was very overwhelmed and wished this night would be over.

"Oh, too many men," Sophina groaned. "Can this get any worse?"

Just then, Roderick and Vincent went over. They were ice-dancing very badly, and Sophina was disgusted with their arrogance and lack of talent.

"Oh, it just got worse," Sophina sighed. "I wish Hugo were here."

Ever since Sir Addams forbade Hugo to ice-dance ever again, everyone in Corona wondered what happened to him. Sophina was hoping this ball would get Hugo to return, but she thought it wasn't working.

Meanwhile, a lot of men were waiting for Sophina when they turned to the entrance and gasped in surprise. At the entrance was a young man dressed in a ravishing blue tuxedo...and that man was Hugo himself.

Sophina saw the commotion and went over to see what was going on. Her blue eyes grew big when she saw Hugo. Sophina just couldn't resist; she went up to Hugo and tapped his shoulder. Hugo turned around and was surprised to see the princess.

"Good marrow, Your Highness," Hugo smiled, bowing before Sophina.

"Oh, call me 'Sophina'," Sophina said. "I've never seen such a handsome man."

"Thank you," Hugo smiled.

"Would you like to dance with me?" Sophina asked, leading Hugo to a bench.

"I'd love to," Hugo said, sitting down.

Sophina removed Hugo's shoes from his feet and put the skates on. Once Hugo's skates were laced up, Sophina took him out on the rink. Sophina and Hugo started ice-dancing, and everyone was astounded by Hugo's talent.

"You're so light on your feet," Sophina remarked. "You must be the long-lost Hugo."

Hugo was very flattered by Sophina's remarks.

Meanwhile Hugo's stepbrothers were very jealous of him, but they wondered who the handsome stranger was.

"Who is he, Father?" Roderick asked.

"Do we know him?" Vincent asked.

"Princess Sophina seems to know him," Roderick replied jealously.

"He's as talented as Hugo used to be," Sir Addams remarked. "You know, there's something very familiar about him."

During the dance, Hugo told Sophina why he quit ice-dancing a long time ago.

"Your stepfather refused to let you ice-dance again?" Sophina frowned. "Shame on him! You're the best ice-dancer in the kingdom, Hugo. You deserve to ice-dance."

Sophina felt bad for Hugo, and she began to sing to him.
