My name is Lori

This is my story

I'm in trouble now!

Must escape somehow!

I will pay the price

For not being nice!

Now I am in town

Sun is coming down

People run around

What if I am found?

Quickly I must hide

So with a quick stride

I leap to town's park

And climb up tree bark

For now I must wait

Until it is late

And full moon is high

I let out a sigh

Think about home's pond

Where I dropped my wand

When Lilly cast fast

A spell with a blast!

It is my own fault

My verbal assault

My words were so mean

A very bad scene

I called Lilly dumb

And threw my pie crumbs

On Lilly's new dress

I made a big mess

Oh how I had howled

And Lilly had scowled

Lilly's wand came out

And with a loud shout

"Off to town with you

Learn from human crew

Learn how to be nice

And of sacrifice! "

Now must make tree nest

And try to get rest

When full moon is high

I'll tell town goodbye

Back where life is good

Back to deep dark woods

Back to wizard school

Learn cool magic rules

Look into the night

When full moon is bright

And town people sleep

Down tall tree I creep

Leap to edge of town

Then I am letdown

For I could not leave

Stopped by magic weave

Sigh as I recall

Words of my downfall

Words Lilly had said

Fill me full of dread

"Off to town with you

Learn from human crew

Learn how to be nice

And of sacrifice!"

Then a net came down

I fell to hard ground

People all around

Took me back to town

Then I found myself

In a cage on shelf

How would I get out?

I sat down in pout

"How can I get home

Out of this steel dome?

Want to be with friends

Start to make amends"

"You can talk," girl cried

As her eyes popped wide

"Do all lemur's talk?"

Girl asked with a squawk

I stared at tall girl

My thoughts in a whirl

Now what must I do

To fix my snafu?

"If you talk to me

Promise not to flee

I will set you free

Please just talk to me"

"Pam is my first name

Tell me how you came

To be in our town"

Pam paused with a frown

"Though my friends will shout

I will let you out

You do not belong

In a cage, that's wrong!"

Pam opened steel door

I jumped to wood floor

"Thank you, Pam," I cried

As Pam's eyes grew wide

"You can really speak!"

Pam said with a squeak

"We must leave this place"

Pam ran a quick pace

As I leaped, she led

To a dark old shed

I asked her to stay

We talked through the day

Pam had many pets

She had caught in nets

Parents were upset

Way too many pets

Time to let them go

But Pam did not know

How to go about

Letting her pets out

Scared that they would roam

And not find safe homes

Pam felt very bad

And was very sad

"I made a mistake

And I feel heartache

Stole pets from the wild

I was selfish child"

"Pam, I will help you

Please do not be blue

Lemur magic team

Will help you redeem"

"Team can take pets back

For they know wood tracks

They'll find new abodes

On our woodland roads"

"But I cannot leave

Until magic weave

All around this town

Has been taken down"

"I'll write magic note

Which we'll put afloat

On a nearby stream

Under white moon beam"

Lilly,

I've been a bad chum

I don't think you're dumb

Jealous, I confess

Of your pretty dress

I will make it right

For I am contrite

I owe you new gown

I won't let you down

Pam is my new friend

And she wants to mend

Mistakes she has made

And she needs our aid

Please bring magic team

To the magic stream

When the moon is high

Where the screech owl cries

Critters need new homes

So they do not roam

Help Pam made amends

Help me help new friend

Lilly reads the note

And she quickly spoke

"Let's help Lori's friend

Help Pam make amends"

Magic wands came out

And they leaped wood routes

Mark empty abodes

With a glowing code

When day became night

And full moon was bright

Lemur magic team

Went to magic stream

Under screech owl's tree

Finally we see

Lemur magic team

Floating down the stream

But there was no boat!

On their feet they float

Right up to owl's tree

Pam clapped hands in glee

"Thank you for coming

My heart is humming

Need to right my wrong

Homes where pets belong"

Back to home Pam creeps

Wizard lemurs leap

Pam tells pets goodbye

Lemurs wave wands high

Window opens wide

Cages rise and glide

Down to stream they go

With us all in tow

Laughing, Pam claps hands

When the cages land

On the stream's slow flow

Back to woods they go

"Goodbye precious pets

New homes you will get

Please come visit me

By the screech owl's tree"

Then Pam burst in tears

So I stood quite near

"I will stay with you

'Til you are not blue"

"But you will miss school

Must learn magic rules"

Lilly turned and said

Pam's heart filled with dread

"No I cannot go

For Pam feels so low

I will stay right here

'Til she can feel cheer"

With a magic stroke

Lilly brought forth cloak

"Cloak hides you from view

Only Pam sees you"

"And when Pam is strong

Sing our woodland song

And if you've been true

We will come to you"

Lemur magic team

Stood on magic stream

Floated back to woods

Where pet's cages stood

One by one they found

Homes in woodland grounds

When cage opened wide

Critters run and hide

When all critters freed

Team smiles at good deed

Lori helped Pam make

Fix for Pam's mistake

Now Pam had to face

Angry friends with grace

Why lemur was gone

Before next day's dawn

Explained she had learned

Wild critters yearn

For their freedom too

Just like me and you

Some friends understood

Some friends' anger stood

Pam felt better now

Smiled and raised her brow

"Now I must work through

Sadness that still brews

For I miss my pets

How do I forget?"

Then I took her hand

And we walked park land

We watched nature's show

And Pam came to know

Nature's show was grand

All across the land

In Pam's own backyard

Wild critters starred

Bird feeders were fun

Yard had more than one

When bird squabbles sprout

Giggles flowed about

Squirrels raced through green trees

Hear soft buzz of bees

Hear woodpecker tap

See red feathered cap

Pam and I took hikes

Or we rode Pam's bike

Watching critters thrive

Made Pam feel alive

Pam found happiness

In her nature quests

Sad feelings were gone

So on next day's dawn

"Lori sing your song

Woods where you belong

You have been good friend

But our time must end"

"Before I sing song

Help me right a wrong

I must undo mess

Can you sew a dress?"

"For a friend that's true

I sure can help you

I will sew a dress

Help undo your mess"

And Pam did not shirk

She went right to work

For she loved to sew

Make dresses that flow

A soft dress of white

With flowers so bright

They sparkled in light

A beautiful sight

"Pam! Dress is so fine!

Oh! Lilly will shine!

Your skills I commend

Oh, thank you my friend"

Pam grinned ear to ear

"It is good to hear

That you like the dress

Work is a success"

At the magic stream

Pam and my eyes gleam

Time together ends

Always we'll be friends

My voice was quite strong

Sang my magic song

Near the magic stream

Here comes magic team!

"Lilly you're my friend

And to make amends

Here's a brand new dress

Sorry for your stress"

"Oh! The dress is grand!"

Lilly clapped her hands

Sparkling in moonlight

Dress was a delight

"Magic team hear me"

Pam held hands in plea

"Lori is my friend

She helped me to mend"

"Now I watch wildlife

Helps to heal my strife

Now I take wood hikes

Quests upon my bike"

"Lori must not roam

Time to go back home

Back to wizard school

To learn magic rules"

Magic team agreed

I had done good deeds

Time to come on home

Did not need to roam

Team gave me my wand

Renewed friendship bond

As I waved goodbye

Pam let out a sigh

For a while Pam sat

Then a little cat

Crawled from under bush

With a little whoosh

Words on soft wind flew

"Kitty is for you

She will love you true

If you love her too"

"And when you feel blue

Walk to woodland view

Someday we will meet

And it will be sweet"
