Brooke's POV
           As soon as I heard Kenzie call for help, I stopped. Mackenzie is like a little sister to me. She looks up to me and Maddie, and she's as sweet as they come. If her or Maddie got killed, I don't know what I'd do. I'll always put them, and Paige, of course, first.
            I heard Paige scream at me, and for a second, I regretted stopping. But Kenz and Maddie are my best friends, so I had to help them. I ignored Paige.
                   I grabbed Kenzie's hand and took off running. We passed Chloe and Kendall. Then, Nia, who was in front, stopped short. I peeked over her shoulder, and saw that we were on the edge of a cliff.
             I looked behind me and saw the bear walking. Big, loud, scary steps. Toward us. Kenzie opened her mouth to scream, but I covered it, not wanting to make the bear angry. We all backed up a little. The bear came closer. "Ok! Everybody listen up!" Nia yelled. "Follow me! Do as I do! Step where I step! And DON'T stop!" Nia looked down over the edge of the cliff. She turned around and held the edge. Then, she stepped down. Paige and I watched her descend. Then Paige prepared herself. "Brooke!? Just so you know, if I die, I love you so much. I love all of you. And if we don't make it, I want you all to know. " Paige said. I was touched. "Paigy, that was beautiful!" Chloe exclaimed. "But we really should be going." Paige went, then the rest of us, one by one.
