It had been a week. A week since Hiccup discovered he had a sister and that his mom still lived. Constantly he thought about how Berk was doing. Astrid probably killed the Monsterous Nightmare, but how was his dad? Probably celebrating. His tribes biggest pest and his biggest embarrassment, gone.

Hiccup loved it here. He had spent the week building his forge, remaking all of Toothless' rigs, and making his new room more... Hiccupy. He had also been practicing his Dragonese. Knowing five words didn't mean he knew the entire language!

However, it was hard. He often forgot phrases and words, but Toothless helped him out by repeating words over and over again. It got annoying.

"Sandwich. Sandwich. Sandwich. Sandwi-"

"Toothless, stop it!" Hiccup exclaimed one of the first phrases he learned. Right after he had learned food words such as sandwich and fish.

"-ch," Toothless finished the word just to annoy him.

Hiccup growled in frustration. He was at his desk in his room, working on a blueprint for another tail. He had made a temporary tail for Toothless, so they weren't grounded, but Hanna had given him a good idea.

She had suggested that he make the new tail fireproof, by sewing some of Toothless' scales onto the fabric. However, it would take time. Hiccup wasn't just going to pluck scales off his dragon. So he made a temporary tail while he waited for enough scales to fall off of the Night Fury.

He was using this time to come up with a new design that would be sleeker and would open cleaner than the last one. His desk and room were littered with designs for the new tail, drawing of Toothless, and even some other ideas he had come up with.

"Jelly. Jelly. Jelly. Jelly. Jelly," Toothless continued to mumble random words.

"Fine, I'll go eat lunch, if that's what you really want," Hiccup grumpily got up from the desk and walked to the kitchen, Toothless hopping merrily behind him.

When he got there, he glanced at his forge. He was quite proud of his work. It was looking a lot like the forge back on Berk. With the exception of the green Gronkle, Blade, who was sleeping in the corner.

Blade had become a regular sight in the forge, as Hiccup needed him so much.

Hiccup walked to the kitchen counter to see if there was any water in the jug, or if he would have to fill it up at the spring. The jug wasn't empty, but there wasn't much in it, so he grabbed it and turned to start walking to the spring.

As soon as he turned around, something clattered to the ground, breaking the silence in the cave. Hiccup jumped, almost dropping the jug.

Hanna stood over a wooden plate on the ground looking guilty and embarrassed. The situation had gotten very awkward. The two hadn't talked much since they met. Mainly because they were never in the same place. Hiccup in the forge and Hanna on Stonescale. But when they were in the same place, Hiccup barely knew her language and the words they exchanged were short.

Hanna quickly began apologizing. "Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry!" She picked up the plate.

"It's okay," Hiccup told her in his best Dragonese. He realized that they should probably get to know each other better, they were twins, after all. "Do you want to go flying?" They couldn't converse easily yet, but another way to learn about a person was watching them fly.

Hanna's face lit up, as did Toothless'. Hanna let out a small roar of happiness while Toothless leaped up and down, his tongue lolling out of his toothless mouth. The red headed girl laughed at the sight.

Hiccup chuckled before jumping onto Toothless. "Let's go!" he exclaimed. Hanna let out a roar that reverberated off the stone walls.

"Stonescale!"

A roar responded, and Stonescale appeared through one of the many entrances. Hanna ran to greet him and climbed effortlessly onto his back.

Once he was sure she was on, Hiccup led the way out. He and his dragon zipped through the stone passage that led outside. Soon, light speckled at the end of the tunnel and they emerged in broad daylight. They soared out then turned to see Hanna, but she wasn't there.

"Where is she?" Hiccup asked.

Then, the bright green scales of a Hobblegrunt could be seen through the exit. Hanna emerged from the tunnel, Stonescale pumping his wings faster, trying to keep up.

"How do you go so fast?!" she exclaimed. Hiccup shrugged. They weren't really going that fast. Hanna pulled up to a slow soar and he followed.

Then, Hanna jumped into an explanation that Hiccup found hard to follow, being so new to Dragonese.

"Hobblegrunts can't fly - fast. Only about - fast - Gronkle. They aren't - stealthy -, and don't even - on agility!" Stonescale tilted himself to glare at Hanna, and she rubbed his head affectionately. "But what - don't have - speed, - make up for - battle. Stonescale - shot limit - thirteen, amazing firepower, - attack!"

Hiccup barely understood what she had said, but he got the main points.

"Wow, bud! Imagine, a shot limit of thirteen!"

"Wow," Toothless warbled.

"Toothless shot limit six," Hiccup explained.

"- I don't - know - Night Fury - of, - you mind showing me - things?" Hanna asked. " - now, I thought the Night Fury was -!"

"Hey, bud? What did she say?" Hiccup asked.

"She wants us to show off," Toothless told him.

"Okay, you better not be lying!" Hiccup told his dragon before he clicked the tail into position. They shot forward. Not for the first time that week, Hiccup really wished there were some sea stacks here. The ones off the shores of Berk were the best for practice, stunts, and testing agility and speed in tight spaces. But, he supposed the giant spikes of ice would do.

They raced towards the crown of the sanctuary, located a suitable spike, and started their incline. They sped up the side of the spike, Toothless' feet barely two inches from the ice. When they reached the tip, they did a flip before swooping down the other side, only to come right back up.

Toothless sped away, gaining height, before turning and letting gravity take them down.

Hanna watched from below. As the Night Fury sped away a whistle could be heard. Most dragons could achieve that whistle, but only when they had their wings in the right position, and were speeding down uncontrollably. They certainly couldn't do it in everyday flight.

The whistle lowered in pitch as they turned, then raised as they plummeted towards the sea. Toothless roared before shooting a ball of purple flame that exploded in mid-air. The explosion created a beautiful ring of purple in the sky.

"Whoa," Hanna breathed.

"Show off," Stonescale scoffed.

"Hey, it's awesome! Quit being shallow. If it makes you feel better, he only has a shot limit of six."

"You're right! He only has six chances to hit a target! Meanwhile, I have thirteen," Stonescale lifted his head and turned royal purple.

"Actually, according to the myth, Night Furies never miss a target," Hanna told him.

Stonescale growled and turned an orange-red with anger.

Toothless soared back up next to Hanna and her dragon.

"Wow, that - really good!" Hanna told Hiccup.

"Thanks!" Hiccup said, rubbing Toothless' head. He purred.

Stonescale grumbled something that Hiccup couldn't understand, but Toothless got it. The Night Fury tensed and growled at the Hobblegrunt.

"Do you really want - pick - fight - Night Fury?" Toothless growled at him.

"Hey, calm - dragon!" Hanna snapped.

Hiccup was taken aback, but put a hand on Toothless' head. "Bud, calm down, it's okay."

The dragon stopped growling, but was still tense.

"I'm going - inside," Hanna growled.

"What?" Her dragon asked in surprise.

"- going - inside!" Hanna turned Stonescale and they began flying back towards the sanctuary.

Hiccup sighed. When was he going to understand her? And he didn't mean just her language.

He turned Toothless out to sea.

"Come on, bud. Let's go for a fly," Hiccup spoke to his dragon.

It was late. Hiccup was siting at is desk, just drawing in his notebook. The light flickered on the wall as the candle danced. Toothless rose from his curled position, casting a shadow on the rock. He looked over Hiccup's shoulder and laughed.

"What?" Hiccup glared at him.

"Astrid," he cooed.

"Oh, hush up and go to sleep already!" Hiccup turned back to his work. It was a portrait of Astrid, smiling her smile that could send him to Valhalla and back. Of course, she was never smiling at him. He was almost done with it, but decided that he would finish it in the morning.

He got up and blew out the candle. It turned jet black in the room, and he heard Toothless laugh as he tripped on his bed post. Hiccup grumbled and finally found the head of his bed.

He crawled into it, and after Toothless settled down, fell asleep.
