"Wahoo! Yeah, baby!"

Hiccup and Toothless sped around the sanctuary, twirling around the spikes of ice that more than littered the rock. They zipped under an ice sheet and arrived in the massive ice cave that was home to the Bewilderbeast, the king of all dragons.

Hiccup could barely hear him chuckle deeply as they sped around the rock tower in the center, startling all of the dragons that were just taking a leisurely flight. The afflicted dragons grumbled in annoyance before resuming their flight.

Then, Toothless snapped his wings out, making them come to a complete stop in midair, once again scattering the slower dragons. They began to free fall, Toothless letting his tongue into the wind.

Hiccup just laid back and enjoyed the way down.

After a few seconds of relaxation, he sat back up. "Do you think we should pull up?" he asked casually as they plummeted towards the water.

"Eh, maybe tomorrow," Toothless answered.

"Okay, but remember, you called it this time."

They continued to plummet as Hiccup laid back down before rolling off his dragon's back.

As the water quickly got ever closer, Toothless wrapped himself around his rider. He tightened up until he looked like a long, black bullet. He was probably going as fast as one too. This made them a streamined, plummeting package, fresh out of the sky.

They hit the water, diving down like a torpedo.

Toothless opened his wings, slowing them down, and allowing his rider access to his saddle.

Hiccup made his way to the saddle, got into it, and clicked his prosthetic into the stirrup that controlled his dragon's prosthetic. The tail fin immediately snapped into place, sending them up, out of the water at Night Fury pace.

Again, the sudden noise, movement, and speed startled the near by dragons so much, many dropped out of the sky.

Toothless let out a roar before speeding around the perimeter of the ice cave.

"One lap, two laps, three laps," Hiccup began to count how many laps they were taking around the inside of the icy walls. Dragons dropped out of the air every time they passed an opening in the walls. "Four laps, five laps, six -"

"HICCUP!" the roar silenced the cave. Every dragon head turned to face Valka, who had just entered with her Dragon behind her.

Hiccup clicked the fin into a wide position, creating enough drag to stop them. He slowly turned to face his mother.

"Yes?" he asked with the most innocent face he could muster. Which wasn't very convincing.

Valka climbed up to her dragon's back, who took flight into the cave. "We've been over this! The Sanctuary is NOT your raceway! If you want to fly ANY faster than Monsterous Nightmare speed, take it OUTSIDE!!!"

"Your mother's right, son. You need to stop speeding," the King chimed in as if he were against their speeding the whole time.

Hiccup turned to him. "Seriously?! You were just -"

"Hiccup! I want all of your writing utensils!" Valka exclaimed.

"What?!"

The entire cave suddenly exclaimed, "Oooooooooooh!"

Exactly what he'd always wanted. An entire cave of Dragons as annoying siblings.

"But, Mom -"

"No 'buts', Hiccup. And it's dinner time. Get in the kitchen. And before you eat, I want all of your writing utensils in MY hand!"

"Fine," Hiccup mumbled as he began to fly towards the tunnel entrance.

"Honestly, I'm going to have to put up signs, everywhere! 'Speed Limit: Monsterous Nightmare'!" His mother continued her rant as she followed them back into the tunnel. "If I have to treat one more Dragon with a heart attack, I'm going to jump in front of a fire blast because I have had it, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock!"

"Lucky me, you've got about fifty more," Hiccup mumbled. Toothless laughed.

"What was that, young man!?"

"What? I didn't say anything."

"Right, I'm sure you didn't."

Hiccup made his way to his room and sighed. All of his writing utinsels. That meant no blue prints, no drawing, nothing. At least she didn't take the Dragon Eye away. But... He didn't have anything to take notes with.

He decided he'd give her all but one. He stuck the last one in his vest before walking back out into the tunnel.

He had been back home for a week now. Natalia's painting now hung in his room, along with the Snow Wraith Tooth necklace. The Dragon Eye he kept on his desk, but Hanna kept suggesting they move it to her room; Hiccup couldn't translate the runes.

He also had his fire resistant fabric laid out in his forge. He didn't know what his 'mark' should be, so he hadn't made the new tail yet.

Hiccup arrived in the kitchen, holding his writing utensils. All except the one he had stashed away in his vest.

He handed the colection to his mother, who held them up and began to count.

When she finished, she spoke. "Really, Hiccup? I know you better than that."

"What do you mean?"

His mother scoffed before she began to pat him down. His concealed writing utensil clattered to the ground. His mother bent down and picked it up.

"Here it is!"

"Mom! I need at least one! I have to keep working on those blueprints, and I have to take notes on the Dragon Eye, and I've never gone a day without drawing!"

His mother turned around. "Well, maybe you'll think about that next time before you speed in the sanctuary, and backtalk the King!"

Hiccup heard a snicker from someone across the room. He turned to see Hanna stirring something at the stove. He walked over to her.

"You were caught speeding again? And you backtalked the King?!"

"You know how he is! He's with you with whatever you're doing, until Mom shows up! Then he gets all bossy."

"Well, you're the one who got punished for it. I guess life just sucks when you're a hiccup."

She took the pot off of the stove and drained whatever she was cooking down a hole in the stone floor.

"Go sit down, Hiccup!" Hanna exclaimed.

"But I want to help!" he protested.

"No, you don't," Toothless said simply before turning and trotting towards Stonescale and Cloudjumper.

Hiccup turned to his Dragon. "Yes, I do."

"No, you don't."

"Toothless, I do!"

"Hanna, don't listen. He's ly-"

"Enough! All of you!" Valka exclaimed, silencing the bickering youngsters. "Hiccup, come sit down. I've had enough of you. After dinner, you're going straight to bed!"

"But, Mom-"

"Hiccup!" she addressed him sternly, "that is enough! Do you want to go to bed now?"

He sighed. "Fine."

The next morning, Hanna woke early. She had plans for the day.

She quickly woke Stonescale, much to his disappointment, and left the island.

Of course, she left a message with Bronzeblaze, saying she had gone off investigating something about the Dragon Eye.

She really thought that she should keep it in her room. After all, Hiccup hadn't learned from their mom how to translate the runes. She had. It only made sense.

The message she left with Bronzeblaze was, of course, a lie.

She flew over the sea, glad that her brother wasn't out for an early morning flight on Toothless.

After the sun had risen in the sky, they spotted their destination. A medium sized island, covered in pine trees. And home to Vikings.

Hey, everyone! The next book is out! Yayy! How's the first chappie? Don't worry, it'll get more interesting.

But, I must go now. So, see ya'!
