Marinette decides to go talk to Adrien.  Only, as she heads to his house she hears her phone beep. She looks at it and sees she got a text from some old man who says , "Come quick!"  She wonders if it is a some sort of prank. She does not have any idea who sent the text.  Then, again the text does sound rather urgent.  She sends a text back to the number, "Come quick, where?"   She waits to see what happens.  She does not have to wait long before she gets the response, Come to the old  cottage outside, the village two miles from Paris!

Marinette packs a suitcase, grabs her purse, sets the alarm, locks the apartment and heads to the nearest train station.  She is not sure what to think about the two text from some stranger, but feels like her future may depend on it. She is not sure why!  She just goes.

Once she arrives at the station she pays for a ticket to the area mentioned in the text.  When the train arrives she boards it with her suitcase and purse.  She falls asleep on the train. Turns out Marinette did not sleep that well the night before as she felt bad about how she ran out on Adrien again.  She wakes up at the destination.  She sighs as she gets off the train with her stuff.  She has no idea how to find the old cottage, but figures she must find it.  The message sounds like it is important she come to it anyway.  She hauls a taxi to take her to the old worn down cottage in town, the driver nods his head and says, " Okay, I will drive you there for four eros, Miss!"

The driver gets her to the cottage in no time.  He even helps her unload her suitcase and reminds her not to forget her purse. She grabs it up and pays him what she owes, along with a bit extra.  "You keep the change, have a great day, sir!"  Marinette says.

"You too, Miss!"  The driver says.  He pulls away and shakes his head. He thinks, it strange she should ask to go here of all places. No one lives here, but an old , hermit. The man rarely gets out much.  The few times he is seen by his neighbors they look at him in surprise, since he is not very social.

Marinette goes to the porch, with her suitcase and purse. She knocks on the door and rings the doorbell.  She waits to see if some one answers the door.  She smiles when a old man answers it.

"Hello, Miss?"  The old man says.

"Hey, are you the one who sent me this urgent text?"  Marinette says as she shows him the text from the number she does not recognize.

The man nods his head.  "Ah, yes!  I did!  I found your number in his phone.  He is still alive, but barely.  I found him in the snow embankment not far from here."  The old man says.

   "He?"  Marinette ask.

"Yes, I show you, come this way!"  The old man says.  He leads her to the living room where a young man sleeps on the sofa near the fire place.

"Adrien, are you okay?"  Marinette says when she sees him.

   "Wh-who are you?"  Adrien says.

"Oh, no!  He does not remember me."  Marinette says.

"I am sorry, Miss!"  the old man says.

"I am Marinette Dupain-Cheng."  Marinette says.

"Is he your boyfriend?"  The man says.

"No.  It is my fault because I never told him that I love him!"  Marinette says with tears in her eyes.

"Wow, he is blessed to have your love, Miss Marinette!"  the hermit says

"He does not remember me, not even a little.  But how?"  Marinette says.

"He has amnesia, the doctor says he lost his memory because he was out the cold and he might have even hit his head on a rock."  the hermit says.

"Oh, dear!  Poor, Adrien!"  Marinette says.

"Adrien?  Is that his name?"  The hermit says.

  "Yes, it is."  Marinette says.

"Well, it sure seems to suit him."  The hermit remarks.

"Yes, it does."  Marinette says. She thinks, what was Adrien doing out in the snow anyway?  I mean, he have taken a train to get out of Paris, France!  She gasps as it dawns on her that he must have jumped from the train.

"Adrien, please be okay!"  Marinette says. She reaches out and holds his hand.

"I am sorry, but I do not remember you.  You are pretty though." Adrien says.

"Oh, I am not." Marinette says, but blushes just the same.

"Yes, you are!  No sense in denying it, girl!"  Adrien says.

"He is right you know."  the hermit says.

    "What?"  Marinette responds.

"Adrien, is right!  You are pretty!"  The hermit says.

"Ugh, not you too!"  Marinette says.

"Here is some tea for him!"  the hermit says.

Marinette looks at the tea. She sniffs it.  It smells okay, she thinks and hands it to Adrien.

"Thanks, for the tea!  " Adrien says.

   "Your welcome, Adrien!"  Marinette says.

"Who is this Adrien you speak about so much?"  Adrien says.

     "He is you!"  Marinette says.

"Oh, you must think I am rather silly not to remember my own name."  Adrien says.

"Not really, you do have amnesia after all."  Marinette says.

"What does this mean?"  Adrien ask.

"It means you lost your memory!"  Marinette says.

"Oh, well that explains a lot.  I mean, I do not remember you, yet somehow you look familiar." Adrien says.

"Well, we did meet a long time ago."  Marinette says.

"Hmm, well that is really to bad, I forgot you then."  Adrien says.

"How did you end up in the snow?"  Marinette ask.

    "I forget."  Adrien says.

     "Oh, I see."  Marinette says.

"Why do you hold my hand?"  Adrien ask.

     "Oh, I-I uh, I ca-can st-stop if y-you would l-like m-me too."  Marinette says.

"No, it is okay.  I like it. I mean, it is kinda nice."  Adrien says. He feels so awkward.  His thoughts so full of much confusion about his past and present.  He smiles at the pretty, bluenette who came for a visit.  He thinks, whoever she is seems to like me.

"I see you too, get along well!  That sure is nice to know, because the doctor says it is good for him to have a friend to talk too."  The hermit says.

"Will you be my friend, Miss?"  Adrien says.

      "Yes, I will!"  Marinette says.

"Her name is Marinette!"  the hermit says.

"Wow, Marinette!  I like it.  It is such a lovely name for a lovely girl like you."  Adrien says.

Marinette's eyes fill with tears as she recalls the memory of when she first met Adrien. The day she almost confessed to him, the day she said she never wanted to see him again and the day she ran out on him again after years apart.  She is sad for what they never had,and still do not. She is sad because he has forgotten her and because he was always a better friend to her than she ever was to him.  She is sad because her heart breaks that he has memory of her, and she is sad because is afraid when his memory returns he will want nothing more to do with her.

Adrien sees the pretty blue haired girl cry.  He feels sorry for her.  He thinks, it must have come to a shock to her to see him in this state.  He smiles as he tries hard to remember who she is because she looks so familiar.  He feels sorry for the girl, as she cries and wishes he could stop them from falling ever again.  He thinks, who made her sad?  Who was he that broke this girls heart?  He thinks, maybe if I find him, I can tell him to leave her alone, and to never break her heart again.  He can tell she is  special. He can tell she likes him and only wonders why he does not remember her name.  He knows she just told him, but he still forgets her name.  He recalls it does start with an M.  Well, at least I remember that much about this kind, and pretty face before me who gently touches my hand with hers and I feel as if she somehow reaches out and touches my heart as well.
