"This is what I have raised you for?" Heath shouted and Alex cast his eyes down.

"Dad... It isn't-"

"Don't fool around, we lost a one million dollar deal just because you didn't reach to the meeting." By this time his eyes were completely red and so was his face, "Why? Because you were busy fucking that slut of your assistant?"

This caught his attention and his head snapped towards him, "She is not a slut."

"Listen-"

"I. Said. She's. Not. A. Slut!" Alex shouted and his dad stared at him. Alex never talked back to him, even in worst situations he never did. It did surprise him while Alex didn't regret this new change. There was no way he would let anyone let alone his father talk ill about his Bella. "My sex life is none of your concern nor is the girls I have with."

"Oh! It is my concern if your sexual desires are affecting my business." The fire in his eyes didn't go unmissed.

"Was it me who forced the fucking company on my head? I had told you beforehand it isn't my cup of tea but have you ever tried to hear me?"

"What did you wished for then? Giving this whole empire in charity?"

"I don't give a flying shit."

Saying he bolted out of the cabin. He didn't see where he was going he just kept moving until he crashed into someone at the parking lot.

"Alex!?" Vanessa held him but he removed her hands and bolted away. She ran to catch up with him and eventually overtook him, "Hey, hey, honey what happened?"

He finally looked at her and for the first time in life, Alex Lawrence cried in front of someone. His arms flung around her neck and burying his head in the crook of her neck he sobbed quietly.

Her heart ached at his condition. It wasn't a question that she loved him. She had done ever since they were together for a year in college. In present, her body seemed like the only way to catch his attention and she never missed to offer it.

"He doesn't understand me Vennie." He murmured and her heart skipped a beat at the nickname he gave her back in time.

"Who baby?" She asked while caressing his back pressing kisses to the side of his head.

"Father."

"Don't bother about him. Its no use upsetting over him."

"It's hard not to think." He admitted and Vanessa's heart even clenched.

"It's okay.." She cooed to him and simply laid her head on his shoulder till she realized his breaths were even.

"I-I am sorry." He pulled away from her embarrassed over his actions. He started moving towards his car when Vanessa stopped him, "Leave me Vennie."

"Not again." She looked directly into his eyes and he saw something in them which he couldn't recognize as they were gone as soon as they came.

"What do you mean?" He asked and she opened her mouth to say something but shook her head. Was she supposed to say to him? That she's still in hopelessly in love with him even after she left him for another man? He let her come near him -even for sexual desires- was a big thing on its own. She knew she can't ask him to come back to her, not when she knew he loves Isabella now.

"Nothing.." She smiled unwillingly.

"Fine.. and don't bother, what happened just now... won't happen again." He nodded to her and she stared at him.

And within a few moments, he was off to the road leaving her heart shattered once again.
