Chapter 4

Expanding Universe.

Exchanging papyrus-card love became a beautiful habit, not just in the time of struggling to be with each other.

The first visitor came from Venus, a beautiful little girl who looked like a mix between them. The Sun fell in love with her since she first kicked Moon's womb.

The second visitors were two troublemakers from Mars, but every time they hear the Sun's voice, they come in line like the planets.

He walked inside the home, feeling the warmth that only family can give. It was time for the kids to be in bed, thinking that she may be putting them to sleep. He entered the kitchen to not disturb them. Searching for any food, as his stomach was growling, he found only an empty plate with a papyrus over it. He opened it.

Dear Sun,

I know I may sound boring by now, as always I start my card with "Thank you." But trust me, it's a small thing compared to all that you have brought into my life since I met you. I am grateful for your immense light that you shower over me and our "visitors."

I never believed that someone can fall in love every day with the same person. Look at me now, I am head over heels for you in each day I spend with our family.

I love you, not just me, we all love you, our Sun.

Yours forever and ever, Moon & the Visitors.

His growling stomach stopped. As always, her card made his eyes cloudy. He heard some noise coming from upstairs and he understood that the visitors were having difficulty sleeping.

"This isn't fair, kids. Go to sleep now, I have been reading all the books on the shelf," she said, sounding tired with all the rights.

"We want one more or we will not sleep!" threatened the little ones.

"Ahm! Ahm!" he cleared his throat. As soon as the kids saw him, they jumped to his side.

"Sun, finally you came to put them to sleep," Moon sighed in relief.

"How did we decide last night, kids? That we will do what mommy says, especially when it is time to sleep." He kneeled before them and watched her fixing the books on their shelf.

"We can't help it, dad! She is so funny, making voices," the twins ecstatically declared in unison. He couldn't help but let out a chuckle, but earned a clearing throat from Moon, attached with an angry glare. He mouthed a "Sorry."

"If we didn't know she is our mom, we would easily mistake her for a teenager. She is our buddy, more than a mom," his little princess was standing beside the twins and spoke up.

Yeah, his Moon knows no age, sometimes even others are surprised by her youthful look. Well, she says that her secret is her family, especially him.

"Mum isn't your age, she is a grown-up. And she is like the Moon that never gets aged as long as we keep her happy. But you aren't helping too much, she works all day. Instead, you should obey and not throw tantrums. If she is sad, we will all be sad," he said, noticing her tired eyes.

"We love mommy and we will always keep her happy. Besides, we are her happiness. Right, mommy?!" The kids moved from him and went to her, clinging to her legs.

"Yes, my sweeties, you are my happiness. But can you sleep now, my angels?!" She said in her cute voice that made them giggle.

"Pop onto your beds now. I will check on you later," he helped her to cover them well.

"Good night, Dad!"

"Good night, Mum!"

"Sleep well, my angels!"

With this routine wish, they both find themselves out of the room. He wasted no time quenching his thirst for her cold lips.

"I missed you so much all day." He inhaled her scent after that kiss. She didn't say anything, just savored the moment.

After freshening up, he joined her in the hall.

"Sometimes our visitors take me for granted," she started as they descended the stairs. "That's why they act that way."

"They love you, but obviously not as much as I do," he affirmed, kissing her back hand.

"I know they love me, I love them too. They win my heart with those pleading eyes," she said as she made her way toward the kitchen, with him following.

"I'm jealous now," he frowned like a child.

"Don't be, they are a part of you, that's why I love them more."

"Like I do, Moon. Did you eat? I'll make pasta!"

"Why are you going to make pasta when I made roast beef, your favorite, accompanied by sweet potatoes?" she wondered.

"I didn't see it, love! Besides, you don't need to do all this, you work so hard all the time," he circled her waist and rested his head on her shoulder.

"I put it in the oven. I can't risk the food like last time with our troublemakers around," she gave him a cheek kiss as he went towards the oven.

"So did you eat it?"

"Nope, I don't like to eat without you. I only take a bite of the food with the kids so they can stay on their seats," she added as she sat down, while he was placing the plates to serve.

After dinner, they checked on the kids, covered them again, and gave them a goodnight kiss on their heads.

"I'm sorry, Moon, that you had to give up your career for us!" he said as they were in their room, holding her hands on his chest. He was sad that he couldn't see her in the hospital hallway, pursuing her dream job as a surgeon.

"I don't miss my old job because our kids make my day fuller with their tantrums and the messes they create. Time passes without me even realizing it," she confirmed her words by pecking his lips.

"I miss you there, so once they go to school, you can come back to work. If it's needed, I'll stay home. I had my moment of glory, Moon, and I want you to have yours too. Besides, you finished all your exams with straight A's, and if it weren't for the second pregnancy, you'd be shining in the surgery department by now," he firmly believed in everything he said.

"I had a great mentor, the Chef of Surgery, that's you, my Sun. I am the luckiest woman in the world to have a husband like you by my side," she kissed his hand and placed it on her face, and then he took it near his lips.

"My destiny couldn't be brighter with you showing me the way every day since the first moment I realized that without you, I couldn't exist!"

He confirmed what his heart declared with her heartbeat.

As always, softly, gently, and of course, roughly, they painted the sky until the early morning, just before the sun came up.

He returned from his early jog, saluting the sun as he entered home, while his Moon was still under the covers.

When he came in all freshened up, she was outside on the balcony, gazing at the infinite ocean as it became colored by the almighty sky. He joined her as she noticed his presence and turned to face him.

"Love…" she wanted to say something, but he placed his finger over her lips.

Dear My Moon,

You are the most incredibly, unbelievably beautiful woman I have ever laid my eyes on, and I really doubt that I can be compared to you. Because you even put the moon in the sky in the shade.

Whenever you get shy, my heart skips multiple beats as I feel fear and wonder if it has stopped.

I thought I knew love, but that was just a mere feeling compared to what I feel for you now and forever.

I have been blessed to have you in my life since the beginning of our love.

Your Sun forever.

Different from her, he didn't write his words on a papyrus. Instead, he spoke them while staring into her beautiful gray eyes, which were filled with silver tears. He kissed her face all over, just like the sun shines on them, getting lost in her enchanting beauty.

The End.
