"I don't understand how you can be so calm," Peeta asks. I laugh behind my screen as I zip up the side of my red dress. I walk out to see him nervously scuffing his boots on the floor.

"I'm nervous too," I say. "I've just gotten better at hiding it."

"How can you possibly hide it?" He asks.

"I don't worry about the stage until I'm up there," I say. "And when I am up there, I just let it take over."

"It?" He asks, clearly confused.

"The music, the crowd," I say. "Just the whole atmosphere. It's like a spell that you fall under up there, Peeta. The lights and the music and everyone up there with you, it gives you so much power. And it consumes you." My perfectly manicured nails buckle my glittering red heels on my feet. I look over my shoulder at him and see him staring at me. I catch his eye and he looks away. I smirk, knowing that it isn't the first time I've felt his eyes on me.

"But isn't that what happened to you?" He asks. "What went wrong?"

"If you mean that I became the spotlight's bitch, then yes," I say. "How I feel is exactly what did me in. That's why you have to listen to me and allow the stage to make you brave but don't let the lights make you an idiot."

"I won't," he says. "I promise." I look at him for a moment and then nod.

"Alright then," I say. "Then I guess it's time to introduce the world to what an unstoppable team we are." He looks at me and I hold out my hand to him. He takes it and I lead him out to the sound equipment. "Remember I'm out there first and you come out when the last chorus is sung. Okay?"

"Okay," he says, still not sounding too sure of himself. I lightly touch his shoulder and he turns to me.

"If all else fails, focus on me," I say. "I'll show you the way."  He nods and I grab my things and get in position to be lifted into the arena. People clip on my earpiece and mic and I hear the crowd cheer as the first bars of my opening number play and I'm lifted through the floor singing the first verse.

"Don't wantcha for the weekend, don't wantcha for a night
I'm only interested if I can have you for life, yeah
Uh, I know I sound serious and baby I am
You're a fine piece of real estate, and I'm gonna get me some land

"Oh, yeah
So, don't try to run honey, love can be fun
There's no need to be alone when you find that someone

"(I'm gonna getcha)
I'm gonna getcha while I gotcha in sight
(I'm gonna getcha)
I'm gonna getcha if it takes all night
(Yeah, you can betcha)
You can betcha by the time I say "go," you'll never say "no"
(I'm gonna getcha)
I'm gonna getcha, it's a matter of fact
(I'm gonna getcha)
I'm gonna getcha, don'tcha worry 'bout that
(Yeah, you can betcha)
You can bet your bottom dollar, in time you're gonna be mine
Just like I should - I'll getcha good

"Yeah, uh, uh
I've already planned it - here's how it's gonna be
I'm gonna love you and - you're gonna fall in love with me
Yeah, yeah

"Oh, yeah
So, don't try to run honey, love can be fun
There's no need to be alone when you find that someone

"(I'm gonna getcha)
I'm gonna getcha while I gotcha in sight

You can bet your bottom dollar, in time you're gonna be mine
Just like I should - I'll getcha good

"Yeah, I'm gonna getcha baby I'm gonna knock on wood
I'm gonna getcha somehow honey yeah, I'm gonna make it good
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

"Oh, yeah
So, don't try to run honey, love can be fun
There's no need to be alone when you find that someone" I turn to the light as Peeta walks onto the stage and smirk as I start to slowly stalk over to him.

"(I'm gonna getcha)
I'm gonna getcha while I gotcha in sight
(I'm gonna getcha)
I'm gonna getcha if it takes all night
(Yeah, you can betcha)
You can betcha by the time I say "go," you'll never say "no"

(Yeah, you can betcha)
You can bet your bottom dollar, in time you're gonna be mine
Just like I should - I'll getcha good

"Oh, I'm gonna getcha, I'm gonna getcha real good
Yeah, you can betcha, oh, I'm gonna getcha
(I'm gonna getcha) just like I should, I'll getcha good
Oh, I'm gonna getcha good!" The crowd cheers and I laugh as I walk back to the middle of the stage, Peeta following, with a somewhat shy attitude.

"How's everybody doin tonight?" I ask. The crowd screams and I laugh. I turn to Peeta. "See, I told you you weren't gonna scare them away." He laughs.

"I can see that," he says. "Did they know I was going to be here?"

"Yeah," I say. "And after tonight, the whole world is gonna come out just for you, Peeta." I turn toward the crowd. "For those of you who haven't met him yet, this is my very good friend and fellow offspring of the Bluegrass State, Mr. Peeta Mellark." The crowd, especially the women, cheer and I laugh. "Yeah, I know. He's cute. But trust me, he can sing too."

"You sure about that?" Peeta asks jokingly.

"Yes," I reply, making the crowd laugh.

"Care to prove it?" He asks.

"I don't see why not," I reply. "I bet they're tired of me talking anyway."

"You think?" He asks. I give him a playful shove as the song starts.

"Baby, when I met you
There was peace unknown
I set out to get you
With a fine tooth comb
I was soft inside
There was something going on," I smile as I start singing with him.

"You do something to me
That I can't explain
Hold me closer and I feel no pain
Every beat of my heart
We got something going on
Tender love is blind
It requires a dedication
All this love we feel
Needs no conversation
We can ride it together, ah-ha
Making love with each other, ah-ha

"Islands in the stream
That is what we are
No one in between
How can we be wrong
Sail away with me
To another world
And we rely on each other, ah-ha
From one lover to another, ah-ha," I step away from him, turning away from his face as I begin my solo.

"I can't live without you
If the love was gone
Everything is nothing
If you got no one
And you did walk in the night
Slowly losing sight of the real thing," I turn back to him and sing softly as he walks towards me.

"But that won't happen to us
And we got no doubt
Too deep in love and we got no way out
And the message is clear
This could be the year for the real thing," He reaches me and I look up as he towers over me.

"No more will you cry
Baby, I will hurt you never

"We start and end as one
In love forever
We can ride it together, ah-ha
Making love with each other, ah-ha

"Islands in the stream
That is what we are
No one in between
How can we be wrong
Sail away with me
To another world
And we rely on each other, ah-ha
From one lover to another, ah-ha

"Sail away," The instrumental starts and Peeta pulls me into a dance, making me laugh. We do a jaunty little swinging dance in a circle for the rest of the song, Peeta occasionally twirling me.

"Ooooh, come sail away with me

"Islands in the stream
That is what we are
No one in between
How can we be wrong
Sail away with me
To another world
And we rely on each other, ah-ha
From one lover to another, ah-ha

"Islands in the stream
That is what we are
No one in between
How can we be wrong
Sail away with me
To another world
And we rely on each other, ah-ha
From one lover to another, ah-ha," The crowd cheers as Peeta dips me and swings me back up. I smile at him, thinking that after what just happened, how we balanced each other out, that it feels like we were born to work at each other's side.
