Here I present you the very first chapter of the The Book- 'Love Till Eternity'😀

INDIAN INSTITUTE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES (IIAS)

It was the day of the result. The result of Quaterly Teminal Examination. There were many students pushing, punching and even climbing on each other to see their result.

But, there stood a handsome boy, away from all the chaos, gigling with his friends. He was sure that like everytime, he will stand first in the class. He was accustomed to it, so there was no excitement or curiosity in him to see the result. In fact, it won't be wrong to say tht he knew the result even before giving the exam.

Bunty: "Yaar Dev, tu bada has raha hai. Kya baat hai??"

Vicky: "Arre Bunty, yeh toh hasega hi naa....topper joh tehra. Yeh tension vension toh hum jaison ke liye hai"

Dev: "Nahiin yaar....aisa nahiin hai. Mujhe toh already result pata hai. Kya hoga....wohi No.1 rank, class mein honour, college ki ladkiyan mujh par aake mar mitingin...nothing new....I already know this...."

Nishant: "Haan haan pata hai...chal fir bhi aake result toh dekhle"

Dev: "Haan theek hai....chalo"

They went to see the result list, shoving people out of their way. Dev went ahead, while his friends handled the crowd. He closed his eyes and placed his finger on the first name of the list. It was his style of checking the result. And then, opened it after a few seconds, And there he got the biggest shock of his life. His finger was placed on the name of Sonakshi Bose. His eyes shot wide open. He then checked his name. He had stood second in the examination. But Dev wasn't able to believe it. He wasn't able to accept the fact that someone can beat him too. He wasn't able to believe that he had not stood first but second. He blinked his eyes and checked the list again and again.

Dev: "Yeh kaise ho sakta hai?? Koi aur first kaise aa sakta hai??"

Bunty: "Kya hua Dev?? Tu itna pareshan kyon hai??"

Dev: "Dekh na Bunty.....first position par mera naam nahiin balki Sonakshi ka naam likha hai"

Nishant: "Kya?? Aisa kaise ho sakta hai?? Tu fir se check karna...chodh main karta hun"

He checked the list and found that indeed Sonakshi has topped the exam.

Here, Dev was angry as well as hurt. More than his defeat, he was angry over someone else taking his position as a first ranker. His ego had been hurt badly. He then tried remembering Sonakshi.

Sonakshi.....Sonakshi Bose was one of the few new students who had joined the college in its final year. Though, she was his classmate he didn't knew anything about her as she never went ahead and introduced herself to him and Dev never acknowledged her. He was used to being in limelight. On the contrary, she was a reserved person or maybe self conscious, thought Dev. A nobody in the class had managed to get ahead of him was the thing that hurt him deeply.

Dev(angrily): "Chal....class mein chalte hai."

He moved towards the classroom followed by his friends.

CLASSROOM

Dev was so angry that he threw his bag on the bench and punched the table. He then saw Sonakshi who was happily chatting with her friends. This enraged him more.

Dev (in his mind): "Kyon has rahi hai yeh?? Zaroor mera mazaak uda rahi hogi apne friends ke saath milkar. Waise bhi aaj toh bohot khush hogi....Dev Dixit ko jo haraya hai. But Ms Sonakshi Bose you will pay for it."

His thoughts were interrupted with the arrival of the teacher. He came, took attendance and then announced the results in the class.
He even honoured Sonakshi, leaving Dev infuriated. As soon as the class ended, there were a lot of people gathered around Sonakshi's desk to congratulate her.

Priya: "Congrats Sonakshi....tumne toh aate hi hamaare college mein bhi apna naam kar liya"

Vivek: "Yeah....Congratulations Sonakshi...I hope tum aise hi top karti raho."

Sonakshi smiled and politely said: "Thank you guys...thank you so much. But this is just a small exam. Topping in it isn't a big deal. And congratulations to all of you too."

Dev gritted his teeth and said angrily: "Hnnn...Khud ko toh attention chahiye...yahaan sirf modesty ka natak kar hi hai"

Bunty: "Tu theek keh raha hai Dev....Aajtak toh koi isse jaanta bhi nahiin tha aur ek hi din mein centre of attention bani phir rahi hai. Chal isse bata dete hain ki hum kaun hai...."

Vikki and Nishant: "Haan...haan...chal..."

As the crowd dispersed, only Sonakshi, Niti, Tanu, Elena and Dev's gang were left in class.

Niti: "Chalo, canteen chalte hain....this calls for a celebration."

As they all stood up to go, their path was blocked by Bunty.

Bunty (looking towards Sonakshi): "Ms. Sonakshi??"

Sonakshi: "Yes...aap ko koi kaam tha mujhse??"

Bunty: "Nahiin....nahiin...hum log toh sirf aapko congratulate karne aaye the"

Sonakshi: "Oh....thanks a lot"

Bunty: "My pleasure Ms. Sonakshi....waise aap inhe (pointing towards Dev who was standing arrogantly with his arms folded across his chest) jaanti hain ki nahiin?? Yeh hain Dev Dixit....jisne KG se lekar har exam mein top kiya hai. Par afsos, iss baar aapse haar gaya" he said tauntingly

Sonakshi ignored that and politely greeted Dev: "Hello....I am very glad to meet you"

Dev looked towards her and just nodded his head. Sonakshi was taken aback by his arrogance.

She composed herself and said to her friends: "Chalo chalte hain....canteen jaana hai naa..."

She gathered her books and walked past Dev and his friends

Nishant: "Dekha....kitna muskura rahi thi...apni jhooti jeet par"

Dev: "Hasne de Nishant....jald hi yeh bhi band ho jayega"

CANTEEN

Niti: "Kya samajhta hai woh Dev apne aap ko?? Kis baat ka ghamand hai usmein?? Ek hello hi toh kehna tha" she said angrily

Elena: " Arre woh itna handsome hai, hot hai, rich hai aur topper bhi hai....toh attitude toh dikhayega naa....waise Sona( teasingly)...tu badi lucky hai...ladkiyan mittin hai uspe....apna introduction karwane ke liye line mein khadi rehti hain.....aur tujhe toh usne saamne se aake introduction diya.....very lucky haan...."

Sonakshi: "Chup kar Elena....aur hume kya karna hai uss Dev Dixit se. Let it be. Aur Niti, itna naraaz mat ho. Chalo noodles order karte hain"

Soon the college got over and everyone went to their respective home.

BOSE HOUSE

The door bell rang and Asha rushed to open the door. She opened it and hugged Sonakshi.

Asha (worriedly): "Sona....kitni der lagadi?? Jaldi aana tha na beta....main kitni pareshan ho gayi thi"

Sonakshi: "Sorry maa...college se nikal ne mein hi late ho gaya....aur meri phone ki battery bhi dead hai" (closing the door)

Asha: "Chalo...koi baat nahiin....aage se dhyaan rakhna...aur aaj toh tumhaara result nikalne wala tha naa.....kaisa hua??"

Sonakshi (disinterestedly): "Haan maa...result toh aa gaya...Main pass ho gayi"

Asha (surprised): "Pass ho gayi?? Bata naa...first aayi hai naa??"

Sonakshi (slowly): "Haan maa.....first aayi hun"

Asha: "Wow!! Congratulations Sona....am so proud of you (kissing her forehead)....par aise kyon muh latkayi bhaiti hai??"

Sonakshi: "Maa...sirf Quaterly exams hi toh hain....Finals thodi hain....issmein itni khush hone wali kya baat hai??"

Asha: "Uff....yeh ladki bhi naa...kabhi apni tareef bhi pasand nahiin karti....par mujhe pata hai finals mein bhi tum bohot accha hi karogi"

Sonakshi smiles and was going towards her room when the door bell rang.

Asha opened the door and smiled seeing her neighbours Mr and Mrs Patil.

Mr Patil- "Arre behenji....aapke kitchen se toh badi acchi khusboo aa rahi hai....Kya ban raha hai??"

Asha- "Nahiin Bhaisaab, main toh sirf aloo poshto bana rahi thi. Sona ko bohot pasand hai na..."

Mrs Patil- "Arre wah....aloo poshto ban raha hai....sach mein behenji aap bohot accha khaana banati hain....Waise koi khaas baat??"

Asha- "Jee....meri Sonakshi class mein first aayi hai....isiliye uski favourite dish bana rahi thi (she said proudly) Aap log bhi yahiin dinner kijiye na aaj."

Mrs Patil- "Sach.....wow Sona...am so happy...God bless you my child" ( hugging her)

Sonakshi: "Thank you aunty"

Mr Patil- "Congratulations Sona....aise hi aage badhte raho"( patting her head)

Asha- "Arre aap log baithiye naa.... waise abhi toh dinner mein time hai...tabtak main aap ke liye chai laati hun."

Sonakshi- "Nahiin maa....aap baithiye, aaj main chai bana kar laati hun"

(She goes in the kitchen)

Mr Patil- "Dekha behenji.....hamari Sona bhi kitni badi hogayi"

Mrs Patil- "Haan....ab dekho kitchen bhi sambhalne lag gayi....sach mein Asha ji aapne bohot hi acchi upbringing di hai Sona ko"

Asha- :"Nahiin...aisa nahiin hai. Sona hamesha se hi aisi thi. Mujhe kuch karne ki zaroorat hi nahiin padi. Main toh bas itna chahti hun ki yeh hamesha khush rahe"

Mrs Patil- "Aap tension mat lijiye. Aisa hi hoga"

Soon Sonakshi came out with the tea which was followed by dinner. Thus the day ended for her and everyone had a gala time together.

DIXIT MANSION

( Dining Hall)

Here Dev had still not got over the result issue and was sitting with a gloomy face. He wasn't eating and angrily stabing the food with fork.

Ravindra (eyeing Dev)- "Kya baat hai....aaj ghar main kuch zyada hi shaanti dikh rahi hai....mujhe toh apne kanon ka check up karana hoga"

Dev looked towards him but didn't say anything

Ravindra- "Kya hua Dev?? Aise kyon muh phula ke baithe ho?? Aur aaj toh tumhaara result tha na?? Kaisa hua??"

Dev- "Kya kaisa hua?? Main fail ho gaya Dad"

Ravindra- "Wah....yeh hui na baat...mera beta...(startled) kya kaha tumne?? Tum fail ho gaye?? Aisa kaise ho sakta hai??"

Dev got up from his chair and said angrily: "Aur kya kahun Dad?? Second aaya hun....toh Dev Dixit ke liye second aane mein aur fail hone mein kya difference hai??"

Ravindra: "Uffo.....toh usmein kya hogaya beta...yeh sab toh chalta hi rehta hai....its a part of life. Waise first kaun aaya hai??"

Dev (gritting his teeth) "Aaya nahiin hai aayi hai....Ms Sonakshi Bose "

Ravindra: "Oh....toh mera putra ek kanya se haar ke aaye hain.....yeh hui na sansani tez khabar....iss baat par muh meetha karo (fowarding the plate of sweets)"

Dev: "Dad please.....main already bohot stressed hun. Aur mann kar raha hai ki uss kanya ka toh main college se kanyadaan karwa dun" said angrily

Ravindra: "Arre...ek baat ke peeche hi pad gaye ho. Accha theek hai....tum aaram karo....waise aaj itna sannata hai.... yeh toh batao ki yeh toofan se pehle aane wali shaanti hai ya toofan ke baad aane wali shaanti?? "

Dev: "Aap donon hi samajh lijiye" and winked at him.

P.S- I always change my writing style suiting to the plot and content of the story. How was the writing style for this one?? Please tell me.....so that I can improve
And am sorry if you found this part boring because of less Devakshi moments, but trust me this was important for the story to progress. Stay tuned....
