REAL LIFE

"How much do you wanna bet it was Lando?" Aurélie's Monégasque accent fills the room as she laughs out the question.

Hailey, right next to her on the hotel bed, gasps.

"I didn't even think of that!" She laughs, "Shut up, it totally was."

The two girls gossip over the obvious mystery of who their friend had slept with last night. Over the past month, Lanaiya and Lando had been flirting nonstop, and to them, it was quite anguishing as they waited for them to finally get together.

"I'm right here you know," The blonde says, walking into the room as she moves the straw around in her smoothie.

A british voice replies, "Oh, we know." Hailey smiles sarcastically to her friend as she speaks.

Lanaiya sits down on the end of the bed, opposite to Hailey and Aurélie. She takes a sip of her drink before she speaks.

"I think we should focus our attention on this topic over to you," She wiggles her eyebrows at the only single girl in the room.

She scoffs, "We've been over this."

"It doesn't hurt to get out there," Aurélie argues. "I can name a good ten guys that would get on their knees for you at one word."

"That's not the point!"

Lanaiya chuckles at Aurélie. "Then what is it?"

Hailey sighs as she adjusts her position on the bed. "It's just— I'm looking for someone who actually understands me. Not just some one night stand or a guy who sees me for my looks. And anytime I think I'm close to liking someone, I shut down."

Her friends frown and listen to her as she explains her feelings.

"And besides me shutting down, they end up not even being someone who gets me and all my baggage anyways."

Aurélie places her hand on her friends, "We get you."

Hailey can't help but smile slightly at Aurélie and squeeze her hand back.

Lanaiya scoots closer to them on the queen sized bed, "Exactly. The right person will come soon, there's no pressure to actively look for someone quickly. Don't listen to our stupid words."

Aurélie snaps her finger in agreement and Hailey laughs. "Yeah. What I deserve will eventually come."

They all nod.

"Because I'm gonna be settling for way more than a man who can't even pick up the bloody phone every night," Hailey eyes Aurélie and her friend groans.

"Exactly! What the fuck is up with him?" Lanaiya chimes in and questions Aurélie for answers about her boyfriend.

She sighs, "I wish I knew. Like, I get he's really busy. As he should be, you know? But it's annoying at times when I don't get any responses for hours and hours."

Hailey grimaces at Aurélies confession and internally shakes her head over Jude's actions.

Lanaiya and Aurélie continue their debriefing while Hailey grabs her vibrating phone. She sees a text from one of her producers and replies to them. Just as she exits the specific messages, she sees a random number that she recently texted. A number she has never seen before.

Hailey clicks on the messages from the random person and furrows her eyebrows, trying to recognize what these texts were.

"Uhm, guys," Hailey quickly interrupted the two and they immediately stopped speaking and looked to her.

"What?"

She flips her phone around to show them her screen, "I have no fucking idea who this person is."

Aurélie stiffles a giggle under her breath while Lanaiya covers her mouth with her hand.

"Oh, that..."

Hailey turns to Lanaiya, "I know!"

"Do you think it's a guy?" Aurélie asks. Hailey shrugs.

"A driver maybe..." Lanaiya states the worst.

"I hope not!" Hailey retorts and turns her phone back to her own view. She stares down at the texts and cringes in embarrassment. "That's actually so bad."

"It's not that bad, the person obviously knew you were drunk, hell, they were also very drunk it seems," Lanaiya says, trying to ease the tension that Hailey was feeling.

"Yeah, maybe just text the person and ask who they were so you know how you got their number and everything that happened." Aurélies says and Lanaiya nods.

"What? No!" Hailey exclaims and looks at her friends like they grew two heads. "Are you crazy?"

Aurélie shrugs, "You want answers, do you not?!"

"I'm absolutely fine with shutting this person out the rest of my life to be quite honest!"

Lanaiya is taken aback and pipes up, "It could be like, your soulmate or something, you never know."

Hailey sighs, "Now you just sound odd."

Lanaiya gives her friend a deadpanned look in response, "I'm gonna text them for you."

Aurélie gasps in shock as she watches the blonde reach for the phone and Hailey react quickly by screaming no and pulling it away from her.

She watches the scene unfold between her two friends on the bed as they fight for the phone. Eventually, Aurélie had laughed her ass off enough and quickly took the phone herself between the two of them.

"Aurélie," Hailey says out of breath, "Give me the phone."

Lanaiya breathes heavily and flops down on her back onto the bed. "I give up."

Aurélie looks down to the phone to see that a message was sent, whether anybody liked it or not.

Aurélie slowly turns the phone screen over to Hailey, "Uh oh."
