Unit7: interpreting

Definition: Kade (1968) defined interpreting as a form of translation in which the source language text is presented only once and thus cannot be reviewed or replayed; and the target language text is produced ender time pressure, with little chance for correction and revision.

Types:

-          Subjects matters: business interpreting, diplomatic, educational, court, medical, community

-          Settings: conference interpreting, seminar, escort, media, remote, three-corned interpreting.

-          - working mode: consecutive I ( dich đuổi), simultaneous ( dịch song song, đồng thời), consecutive-simultaneous, whispered I (dich thầm cho 1 người), sight translation ( nhìn thẳng vào text và dịch miệng)
